There were lots of options for Ye Thuza’s comment in the last panel. I finally decided to use this one.

- Yuna: My perpetual motion machine is making great progress! Check it out!
- Yuna: Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!
- Ye Thuza: It feels like the laws of physics are trying to drop some subtle hints here…
- Yuna: Help!

LOL! As I said before, laws of physics are weirder in S&W world then in Gaia! 😀
Novil… Did I ever mention you are genius? (And powree brilliant for drawing it…)
physicist speaking…
But but but …
it’s plugged in to a power point, (Panel 1.)
If it’s getting a flow of energy from some source, it isn’t what people want a perpetual motion machine to be. It’s just a machine.
Now, I’m quite happy for a machine to be started off using conventional power – and then unplugged – and then if it keeps going or even accelerates past the point that conventional onboard energy storage could support … (i.e. no cheating with batteries or flywheels, which can supply finite amounts of energy) … that might be a perpetual motion machine.
I’m quite prepared to believe that Yuna isn’t bound by the same laws of physics as we are.
(I’m a physicist by training. I’m with https://xkcd.com/2217/ on this.)

Does anyone else see the irony in this little episode? After all, it’s been established that mom enjoys being spanked. Soooo…think she’ll want to borrow the machine? lol
I’m willing to accept cold fusion from Legos (and Princess Mononoke figures), a gravity inverter, and maybe even an entropy reverser. That last one is stretching it — but if I can accept talking raccoons then I can’t gripe too much.
But, after the previous strips, I was hoping Yuna would tap the zero-point energy or some-such. An “overbalance” wheel is beneath her. Also, they don’t work.
Edda
Yeah, this doesn’t seem like a Yuna-like approach. This is a girl that had a micro black hole in her cupboard, after all.
“
LisaYuna, in this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics!”Laws of physics? For Yuna, they’re more like the suggestions of physics.
Why “Two Yunas”?
It would seem to me Ye Thuza is right.
Also, it seems this thing is too simple and shoddily made for Yuna.
Anyone who creates a pepurtual motion machine is actively trying to destroy existance.

Actually maybe stopping universe from ever expanding might not be that bad of an idea… 😀
the laws of physics finally struck back for all she does to them.
This is just enforcement of the laws of physics. Nothing to see here, people…move along!
