I have now, with the help of Google, found out about the “This is fine”-meme (new to me). Nice twist! But I guess this strip could also have been part of a new story arc, if the crowd from the last strip caught up with Larissa.
This is fiiiiiiiine. *melts into a puddle of happiness.*
So Larisa moved to Australia?
Paradiso and Inferno are both full of show-offs.
In the second panel, I like the way the refrigerator is on fire.
you know Larisa’s favourite song might be “Fire and Forgive”
Just a little creepy.
Of course this is fine. Luc is just taking house shopping for when she finally makes the move. Personal accommodations are one of the perks of being management
This feels like a cry for help. Is everything ok Novil?
It would have been nice to credit KC Greene for the original meme.
@ Opus the Poet:
They have the Gunshow webcomics in the tags, so there’s that at least. But a link to that site would probably be a good thing.
Well it is Larisa. She just loves fire. Also she is a succubus so just a meeting with her boss.
Could have given it a different spin by having Larisa say “This is fun” instead.
Larisa likes it hot.
@ smartpoisoner:
dude I love Powerwolf, how about Sonata Arctica’s Wildfire?
I don’t really expect darkness in this comic; but the blank stare of Larisa is disturbing enough that I’m not quite sure whether this is a joke on Larisa liking fire, or whether this is the way she is coping with her life (and soon-to-be lack thereof).
@ Ratfox:
I think she’s in ecstatic catatonia from being literally surrounded by more fire than she probably ever dreamed about being surrounded by.
One too many cold winter days?
Did I miss when Larisa went to Australia?
Did she end up in hell after getting murdered by weebs?
A warm and friendly business meeting between a junior executive and the CEO?
The devil in this strip is depicted a lot like in Rick and Morty
Larisa is in Heaven.
That is, Heaven, for her.
No, this is “fire”. With an “r”.
Why is “gunshow” a tag?
She’s listening to a Song of Nice and Fire.

I think it’s somewhat of a metaphor for her life, given her prognosis. Her life is literally one big, “It’s fine.” Which I guess is better than open existential horror; The only real difference between her and us in that regard is the schedule, after all.
This is me… this is me right now and seriously, its fine but omg i cannot believe that you managed to put what is going through my head into imagery.
and with that… this is fine!
So upon searching, fire elemental tea is a thing that exists:

I mean this has a totally different meaning in this context
@ Sknots:
Too soon. Far too soon.
For those who haven’t yet gotten the reference to Gunshow: http://gunshowcomic.com/648
If this meme is new to you, this article might also be helpful: https://www.theverge.com/2016/5/5/11592622/this-is-fine-meme-comic
I am hoping there is an extra level of irony here in that Larisa honestly might think sitting in a room on fire is fine…. I could easily imagine her striking the pose and delivering the line as a joke to Lucifer.. even as a compliment on the decor. 😉
@ myth buster:
The template is a dog sitting at a table in a burning house saying, “This is fine.” It’s from a webcomics called Gunshow.
“No thanks, I just tried it, it’s cold”
“Not anymore it isn’t!”
“And the tea cookies were raw”
“♪Not anymoooore!♪”

Not every depressing thing a creator makes is the result of depression. In this case, it seems more like Novil was trying to do a twist on a meme.
To be fair, if I hadn’t seen the original Gunshow cartoon used as a meme, I would have found this strip very disturbing. Larisa’s expression is quite creepy without that context. With the context, though, I read it as an in-joke with Lucifer, who seems to.appreciate the humor quite well. 🙂 In fact, given how much Larisa loves fire, I really can’t see any other way to read it….
Did she die in the last comic, then?
@ DTIBA:
Yes, but only Inferno has hair clothes and guns on each limb.
