Lava moat!
@ Vincent Pelletier:
LAVA MOAT!
LAVA MOAT!
This is such a refreshing way of handling the current political turmoil – kind, fun, and innocent. And just therefore not without an edge. 🙂
Kanye really didn’t think his recent move through. His project should have been called “the Lava Moat party”!
Now that’s a true anarchist, doing it for memes.
Funny thing is, the lava moat really IS preventing bad things from happening.
Lava moats. Always.
Okay, my bet: 8:37 will be when the Lava Moat activates.
What happens after that I won’t try to guess, because, Yuna.
“protesters work for big business” must be a South Park level of weird take
It would appear the answer is “LAVA MOAT!” 😉
Lava moat!
“Let’s Loot the shop for Justice!” … What a perfect waste of “Let’s loot the shop for Great Justice!”.
don´t blame your hench-twink, mr.B – larissa´s got hell AND yuna on her side!
@ Let’sBeFriends:
‘White guys looting shops during protests are protestors’ is even more of a south park take.
So, um, are we not going to address that/why Yuna’s apparent generator looks like she’s miniaturized a power plant?
And what’s its output?
lol that last panel
GAAAAAAAAAAAADGEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!! *slams fist and scares cat*
@ sinistral:
I mean, answers seem obvious to me:
1. Because she could, so why not.
2. Enough to heat a Lava Moat
Thunder wrote:
and like a true scientist she only asked “could I?” and never bothered on “should I?”
@ sinistral:
And if it’s a miniature power plant, who will operate it? Ants? A flea circus?
Let’sBeFriends wrote:
Even more so when you compare how much emphasis there is on looting, compared to how much looting there actually is.
“Anarchists are opportunists who just want to loot and hoard stuff” is what I’d expect from SP actually, not Sandra and Woo. Did Novil watch too much Fox News lately? 😄
@ Lys:
Come on, try actually reading the comics instead of directly imagining whatever you want.
Hint: people, bought by an imaginary evil corporation, are not anarchists and are not supposed to represent anarchists or real-life rioters. YOU are the one making the connection here for some reason. Do you have any reason to believe that real-life rioters are paid by evil corporations? I don’t, and by the looks of it, Novil doesn’t either.
A general store still in business? Hardly any of those left. Mr B should be aiming at Wal Mart.
Glad I waited on that last strip to see where it was going.
Wait those were actually bricks? Lava Moat! I suppose…
@ erejnion:
Bingo. Novil wrote this storyline because it is funny. And he did that because, well, this is a comic strip.
10 tons of steel?
So many questions…
TwoTail wrote:
There is a how to on Lava moats… You would need a lot of heaters, those would be made out of metal…
@ Kether:
The Lava Moat protects! Believe in the Lava Moat!
More seriously, give people something constructive to believe in, and they will do great things to make it happen and defend it. Nihilism is destructive, even to itself.
Yep, lava moat for sure.
Trimutius wrote:
But just donating that much? That has to be expensive.
And how did he deliver that?
@ Let’sBeFriends:
Yeah, not really liking how he’s demonizing the legitimate outrage in the us.
blitz wrote:
Well, if the outrage results in far more people dead than the original incident and if founders/leaders of BLM (Example: Yusra Khogali) are far more into racism than any policeman in the US could ever be accused of – then it seems to be difficult to demonize them more than they themselves do.
Lava Moat!
This is a really interesting, and consciously non-partisan take on the protests. You have:
1) a Bezos-stand in ordering bricks. As Bezos is against Trump, this is clearly a right-wing take.
2) a white agent provocateur (of Boogaloo Bois) fomenting violence: a left-wing take
So, Novil is aware of all internet traditions, and consciously avoiding clear taking of sides.
However, it looks a lot like it were the right time for Sandra and her father to move back to Germany.
I just had the most amazing idea, how about if there’s a little bit of lava left Yuna makes Larissa a LAVA LAMP!
@ Arent:
“IF” that were happening it would be terrible.
IT IS NOT HAPPENING.
STOP MAKING FAKE NEWS UP.
@ Matthew Wells:
It is though… in the first few weeks of the “protests” they killed policemen who just wanted to stop them from looting stores. They killed a black policeman too. But hey, i guess those holy saints could never be wrong so everything they do is ok.
@ Let’sBeFriends:
Protesters don’t work for big businesses, but instigators are sometimes used by big businesses or governments to turn peaceful protests into violent debacles. For example, it’s not uncommon for a government to plant instigators in a peaceful protest to throw a brick at a cop, thus allowing the cops to charge in and “control the violent riot”.
John wrote:
Except he owns stock in that company. 😛
@ Sythrus of Origin:
That is that best idea! Please do it, Novil?@ Sythrus of Origin:
That is an awesome idea! I really hope it happens.
That guy standing on the back of the truck is the anarchist guy from the last strip right?
Nice fake-out.
@ abc:
Names or GTFO, sheep.
@ foducool:
I freakin’ love you. Beautiful and perfect reference.
Matthew Wells wrote:
Names? You want me to call you names?
I’m pretty sure that would be against the comment posting rules so I won’t do that Mr. Wells.
And when the world stands divided against itself throw the instigators to the lava moat and move forward in unity.
@ Let’sBeFriends:
Actually there is evidence that many looters and other violent protestors were doing it to put the actual protestors in a bad light, including white police officers.
There was even some indication that white supremacists were among the looters to put the protests in a bad light. Others were just organized thieves.
Yeah, rioting is bad. Instead of doing something so outrageous, everyone should just lie down and beg for their lives in a civilized manner.
@ Lys:
Ahh, I see we’ve come to the reactionary far leftists, desperately frightened that people are rediscovering that filthy right-wing dogwhistle known as nuance.
Did nobody notice that the person wearing a Anarchist shirt who got the bricks is completely different from the person who wanted to loot the building?
Obviously the Mr. B who delivered the bricks is different from the sinister Mr. Bozzos.
