- Ye Thuza: I heard you were working in a maid cafe?
- Hitomi: Yes, Café Mai:lish.
- Ye Thuza: Really, the Steins; Gate café?! That’s so cooooooool!
- Hitomi: Sonuvabitch!
- Ye Thuza: … Perfection!
- Rintaro Okabe: Hey mister! I am mad scientist! It’s so cooooooool! … Sonuvabitch!
- Ye Thuza: If you make this woman cry only once, I’ll cut off both your legs!
- Hitomi: Woman with katana very rough!

Ye Thuza forgets Richard is a software engineer. we don’t need our legs…
we need our arms more…
This strip is numbered as 1120, shouldn’t it be 1200?
Ye Thurza has the right idea.
So she’s got the seal of approval from Richard, Sandra, Woo and Ye Thuza – so that just leaves Cloud, Yuna and Larisa…
Okay, now I got it. Everybody is going to like Hitomi and that’s what will make Richard’s life hell.
I’m still trying to find the meaning for the end of the world predictions here…
Called it!
they are making Hitomi into a very awesome and likable character that all the other characters seem to like……so how are they going to tragically remove her that will piss all of us off……waiting for that…..
Later Cloud convinced Ye Thuza to be significantly more lenient towards his future father-in-law, on grounds that his girlfriend would rather have her beloved father in one piece for the whole duration of his natural lifespan.

Actually the prediction was only for an event that would turn Sandra’s world upside down. They only assumed it would be dire because 2020.

New immigration restrictions?
@ Mr. Spock:
Hey, good Wild Hogs reference
On other side Hitomi is a native citizen yet. She knows the fear that only Ye Thuza can cast.
But i continue asking what happening with the freek computer genious? It’s a long time we don’t hear about her.
@ Alan Richmon:
The computer genius has a strong possibility of being a serial killer that murders her romantic partners. Richard decided to maybe not take that risk.
I hope Hitomi doesn’t cry at weddings. Or at proposals….
Yeah… I knew Ye Thuza would like her…
And yes, Ye Thuza is very rough, they say some women are silk hiding steel, Ye Thuza is more like reeds barely concealing concrete hiding steel.
Ok… lets plan marriage! Sandy needs mommy…
Only question, will Sandra get baby sister or baby brother?
The dub is pretty funny, too.
“Sorry, I don’t speak Jive.”
“…well, this was nice and awkward.”
“I can’t believe you just said ‘word to your mother’ to this guy, you freak.”
Minor wording suggestion: “If you make this woman cry only once…” maybe ought to be “If you make this woman cry even once…”
The former suggests that she’ll let him off so long as he makes her cry multiple times, while the latter defines a hard limit of zero crying allowed.
@ Foradain:
As long as they’re tears of joy, I think Ye Thuza will give him a pass.
@ Tomana:
Fluent as she is, English isn’t Ye Thuza’s first language. The occasional odd phrasing is understandable.
@ Trimutius:
You Blasphemous, It’s obvious will be both of them
“If you make this woman cry only once, I’ll cut off both your legs.”
Is it just me or does Ye Thuza tell Richard that he’s supposed to make her cry multiple times?
Who wonders what scene this is from:

@ Trimutius:
What makes you think she’ll get only one sibling?
And if you mean “which first?” then I must also remind you of the possibility of twins!
Rough? Hitomi, you have no idea…
What a way to have strip #1200, I love it
But Richard needs his femurs to live…
The original
Then he better make his marriage proposal in private or as uncommon as possible.
Because if he makes Hitomi cry with his proposal.. Chop go his legs..

Yuna is currently trapped in class and looking bored as hell at being taught the equivalent of preschool from her perspective. Larisa is unaccounted for, but likely to show up soon to check how BFF and the lava moat are faring. Cloud is also unaccounted for, but likely to be interested about the status of gf and mom, if either bothered to tell him.
What did Richard get himself into…?
She has the right idea. Now, Richard, I’m gonna level with you. She has already conquered your daughter, your in-law(I know, I’m jumping forward a bit. But I don’t see those two ever breaking up…. because comic logic), and your pet? What more must she do before you put a ring on her. Hurry up man, the suspense is killing us.
We had confirmation from the late Thomas J.’Asshole’ God that Sandra and Cloud are soulmates when the angels stated Cloud would never get over the shock of Sandra’s untimely death and become a criminal drunkhard.
By the way, we are lucky TJG is dead and gone, and the Raccoon Goddess is Acting Human God, or he might well have thought of offing Hitomi to turn Richard into a serial killer or something.
Richard means well, but he is a bit slow to react. Probably he has been a widower and single dad for so long that his romance act is a bit rusty. Look how he had to switch gears from ‘that was unwise’ to ‘I’m happy you’re here’, and he got dragged in the taxi before he declared. I give him at least a few other strips before he musters the nerve to propose, and in the meanwhile Hitomi may meet (and charm) the rest of the gang.
I see a possible snag that might be a worry for Sandra: Clouds “interest” in maid outfits. And he likws Steins;Gate. However, Sandra might pick up a hint or two from Hitomi about how to wear a maid outfit… 🙂
This is going to well it’s freaking me out.
Am I the only one totally offended by the last panel and see it as a betrayal by Ye Thusa?
Not because Ye Thusa is “rough” (that isn’t exactly out of character for her), but because:
1. I see her attitude as a complete betrayal of someone who is at least to some degree is her friend. I get it that Hitomi is awesome, but as a friend she should be on Richard’s side, if there ever is any conflict where he isn’t clearly at fault (and really, any conflict).
2. She implies that Richard is some sort of shady nefarious person who is likely to hurt Hitomi. Again, she knew him for years, in close proximity. To treat him this way is just not good of her.
Ye Thuza is in full mommy mode. Hitomi is young. Ye Thuza had taken her under her wing. Her adult relationship with Richard gets thrown aside by the fire of neo-parental fervor.
Ye Thuza believes in threatening her friends and loved ones to keep them on the straight and narrow. Have you forgotten when she told Cloud she would behead him if he gets Sandra pregnant before graduation? Same thing.

Does Cloud have a maid kink? I cannot remember. Sandra has one for crossdressing cute boys, however.

I was thinking the same, not the least since Novil has this thing about shippers (and I sympathize with him here). But Novil also knows the border between a good twist and cruelty. And he has never been cruel to either his readers or his main characters in this way. There has been a few harsh moments but there has also been so much affection and cuteness around that it is a defining feature.
By the way, I like that Novil has never let us learn about Hitomi’s age, given the concern shown by some commenters. But we have hints, and Ye Thuza apparently don’t see anything improper. 🙂
She’ll cut off both legs of she cries even once?
Even if it’s for being happy? Tears of joy?
@ Irioth:
I remembered that specific strip, and that was exactly why I said her “rough” thing is in character. But I see a huge difference between threatening a teenager not to impregnate someone as a parenting approach – that is what most good parents do in less-rough version; and betraying a friend by siding with a newly met stranger.
@ Mr. Spock:
That’s why amputating both legs is simply a warning for the first offense.
Just me wrote:
I don’t think she is actually betraying Richard on this one. She is just pushing him to do the right thing. Probably she acknowledges Hitomi is such a keeper for Richard that he needs to be goaded a bit into not blundering his opportunity for romantic happiness with her. We have seen his romance act is a little rusty. She actually wishes for his friend’s happiness, but she’s applying her typical ‘super-tough love’ approach to it. Honestly, if her parenting standard for good advice to a son is threatening to behead, to threaten mutilation to a close friend for the same goal is entirely in-character.
Hey there’s a problem, he’s tagged as Okabe Rintarou when obviously this is Hououin Kyouma
@ Tomana:
It seems that the comic text has been fixed, although the transcript hasn’t…

“Very rough”…? Ye Thuza was only this kind to Richard, because their families are pretty close to each other (and, if they have any words in this matter, they will become even closer, by Sandra and Cloud).
