Your suggested move simply results in a faster checkmate, after RxF8.
Is there anything in the rules against someone suggesting a move to their opponent?

Yeah, it’s forbidden to distract or annoy your opponent, and this would certainly count as a distraction. There are a few legitimate reasons to speak to your opponent (like making a draw offer) but suggesting moves isn’t one of them. Seeing as how Yuna has already been warned for a rules violation, she’d probably incur a penalty for this. Perhaps Logan would have 2 minutes added to his clock to make up for the distraction.
(Of course, these guys are using rules which allow Pokemon Ruby to be played during the match, so who knows what their rules say about this.)
So I know I’m a few days late here and am a complete chess amateur ( I had to look up chess notation just to make sure I was getting all of this correct) but I think black has a good move in Re2. It puts white in check where the only moves I can see are to move the king or block with Qf2. If Qf2 you can take with Rxf2 for check again and then no mater what white does black can move out the queen and has a good position to win. If not Qf2 black goes rb2 to threaten the bishop. From here it tough to predict cause white has a free move but I don’t see any innevitable checkmates. BxF7 RxF7 RxF7 is a bad trade sure but now black queen is free to move out a threaten the king with the rook wich seems like a good position( though how good depends on where the white king is at this point) Idk, if there are any actual chess players that could show me what I’m missing it would be a fun read for me.
She’s really nice giving him a chance to not lose too horribly. ^_^
