I have been following this comic for years and it brought me a lot of joy.
Thank you (and Powree) for this comic, I wish you the best and hope you’ll find a way to heal.
Not knowing what’s going on(it’s none of my business either), all I can say is that I’ve dealt with 21 years of depression in the past, and finally found a solution and healed with the help of therapy. Maybe it can help you. Best of luck!
Yay! You’re back! Sooooo Happy!! Konosuba is excellent and has great music too. Please take care of yourself. You, and your comic are absolute treasures.
Having been with you for the past 14 years, I feel like Sandra and Woo filled a needed piece of my life. I’m with @CH23 too. The comic as wonderful and beautiful as it is, should not come before your own health, mental, physical or otherwise.
Thank you for being here through all these years. (I love the game on Steam, and I have the 10 year anthology.)
Sandra and Woo stands the test of time, my daughter (now 10) wasn’t even born when you started, and she loves to read through the comics, laughing and following the character development.
Please, take care of yourself. Don’t feel any obligation to continue from needy fans. We love what you have created. Whether what is published is all that will be, or whether you feel like you still have stories to tell, I think you will find that there are fans who will always keep coming back to enjoy your incredible tales.
Take whatever time you’ve needed, man. I’ve been reading you for years, and you’ve been almost totally consistent for over a decade. That is astounding in webcomics. The BAST majority don’t last that long. Take a hiatus if you need it, for as long as you need. As I’ve said on prior strips, I’ve seen comics go on hiatus for YEARS and come back, like VG Cats and Count Your Sheep. Granted neither are great with the updates now (and may be on hiatus once more) but it’s just what happens. You do you.
You have delivered a fantastically consistent product for over a decade. A huge number of webcomics never even survive their first year online!
There’s a lot of noise out and about right now. The world on whole sucks pretty bad, and plenty of individuals are having their own rough times on top of it. You’ve got every right to take the time you need to to deal with the stuff you’ve got going on, whatever it is and however long it takes.
I sincerely hope you come out the other side of it upright, and that you can keep your head above water for the duration.
sorry, everyone talks about “new artists” and stuff like that… i always felt like there was somewhere other than sandraandwoo.com where fans could get information, but I was generally only interested in comics and so I don’t know this other website. WHAT HAPPENED? Thank you.
Well, I’m glad to see you Novil, and I hope you’re feeling better. Please, do take as long as you need, but know that there are many grateful people out here in the Intertubes that are wishing you well!
I am so happy to see an update for SaW posted. It always brings a smile to my face. That being said, please take care of yourself. We love your comic, but your health is more important then that.
Remember we may not know you, but we all love you and the amazing work you have done. Even if this is the end. 🙂
@ Arent:
Exactly. He’s been doing it pretty consistently for about a decade. It’s impressive, certainly, but, like… don’t do that. It’s too much. ESPECIALLY since as I understand they both have normal jobs aside.
Novil, thank you for your work on Sandra and Woo. It is a delight to read your writing and wish you progress in your health, mental wellbeing, and fortunes.
No one wants to see an author or artist break themselves putting out the work they enjoy. Take a break if you need one, your real fans will understand. And don’t be afraid to say something if you need time away from it all.
So happy to see you back, Novil !
As everyone said above, do not hesitate if you feel like you need another break in the future. Your health is more valuable than the wants of random people on the internet.
Wow, I genuinely thought Sanda and Woo comic has come to an end, because of how long there was no updates plus the title of previous strip.
Same here. And seems there will be end now …
@Novil: Mental health issue? Take what time you need, only you can say if the comics is helping you or exhausting you. If you ever decide to try again I will be waiting. I’m glad you said something is happening, too many comics simply end without any comment.
Be kind to yourself first. You don’t owe anyone anything. Please remember that you are a valuable person regardless of what you do or don’t do. Your comics bring joy, and I hope they return it to you at least 10 fold per person.
Long distance hugs and support from a weird stranger on the internet.
I have been in love with Sandra & Woo ever since I saw Woo’s expert mode (http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2014/09/29/0620-expert-mode/). I am selfishly sad if this is the end because of the joy it has given me for years. But, like all your true fans, I agree that your health is more important than this comic, Novil. Relax in the knowledge that you have entertained many of us for a long, long time.
Astonishment! Hope! Joy!
Wait, “This is the last strip done by Powree”? I hope he’s OK. Also, I hope the S&W comic continues. If this is the last Pow strip, does that mean that comics in the future won’t be done by Powree? It’s been a long, merry road, but artists change pretty often across the business.
I don’t know “how much of a burden” Novil’s mental state could be, given the sort of pressure, bad ideas, and Desk King lunacy that the ‘big time’ comic book industry has shown.
Some random guy from Ukraine here. First thing first: things are not too bad in my home city. Between occasional bombings and blackouts I manage to continue my work as a software developer. Many others are getting it much worse.
I just wanted to thank you and Powree for Sandra and Woo. For the past few years I was a big fan of your work. But during the recent events Sandra and Woo became more than just a cool webcomic, but one of the few little things that help me to stay sane. Some would probably say that war is no time for silly strips. But to me there’s no better time. The opportunity to occasionally escape to the world of likeable characters and their adventures helps me to recharge my inner battery and face the reality again. I don’t know if there will be a good ending to my own story. But in my favorite character, Larisa, you perfectly caught that Slavic attitude: even if the things are constantly getting worse for you, this is not a reason to lose heart.
When I saw the new strip yesterday, I was both very happy and sad. Happy, because the story continues and sad because you’re going through a very difficult period of your life. I wish you to emerge victorious from whatever trials the life sends you. I’m rooting for you.
Take care, and thank you again for all these years.
Wow, I genuinely thought Sanda and Woo comic has come to an end, because of how long there was no updates plus the title of previous strip.
It looks like it <i<is coming to an end, or at least going on a long hiatus. And I’m going to be a grinch and say that the previous strip would have made a better ending point; it would have worked the way the final Calvin & Hobbes strip worked as a perfect capstone to that comic. This new comic leaves things hanging.
This takes me back. This webcomic was actually what introduced me to Konosuba, and sort of got me into anime in the first place, among other things. This strip reminds me that this comic has had a real impact on my life.
sorry, everyone talks about “new artists” and stuff like that… i always felt like there was somewhere other than sandraandwoo.com where fans could get information, but I was generally only interested in comics and so I don’t know this other website. WHAT HAPPENED? Thank you.
Since no-one replied, I will… This “new artist” thing is about the text below the comic (just below the “[1339] Practice makes perfect” title). Mental health issues – well, you’d have to read the comment section of the previous comic (but beware, there a lot of $#!& in there). I’m not aware of any “other website”.
The context seems to be more that this was the last comic strip Powree worked on before Novil had to take his break, of which I don’t think is over. This particular strip may have been done for months and Novil just wanted to pop in and say hi. @Novil Please, enjoy your break, you’re an awesome person.

whether or not you make a return to your comics, just knowing your still alive and kicking is enough for me. if this is the end, then thank you for telling so many wonderful stories.
Stay healthy and happy, that’s all that really matters.
Thanks for doing SaW for so many years, that means you also Powree ofc.
I hope both of you understand that while we love the work you make none of us wants you two to burn out.
Take the required time to feel good again, and then some more time.
Im speaking from personal double exp. Stay safe!
Mate, I’ve followed your work for the last nine years and loved every moment of it. Words alone cannot express my gratitude for the sheer number of times it helped cheer me up or just put a smile on my face.
Just reading through the comments, I think it is safe to say that many others feel the same way, you’ve done so much for so many, worked so hard to spread light and joy to people across the globe. Take all the time in the world that you need, please, look after yourself and take care of yourself.
You’ve given us more than enough to go back and read through many times over. If you are able to return, then that is great and we eagerly await whenever it may be. If you can’t continue the comic, then we thank you again for all that you have done over so many years 🙂
Hugs and handshakes from all your fans, please take care and do what is best for your wellbeing friend ^^
Everyone has already said everything that can be said. I just want to add in another wish for your better health. And know, Novil, that for every comment here, there are at least 20 other readers who think the same but don’t comment.
Happy to see you back! 😀
What does the description mean though – will you work with a different artist or is this the “real real end” now?

I don’t know. I don’t want to burden a new artist with my current mental state.
@ Novil:
Much as I enjoy this comic, you have to take care of yourself first.
I see. Thank you for answering, I wish you all the best.
I know it doesn’t help you, but I really enjoyed this webcomic and reading it has always been a great pleasure for me.

Simply just tone it down. Either stop the comic or just update 1/month. There is really no reason to update two times every week.

I must admit that the second panel made me laugh a lot.

Hmm, I start to wonder …when was last time Woo was part of story arc
Wow. They go hard.
Novil, thank you for your work on Sandra and Woo. It is a delight to read your writing and wish you progress in your health, mental wellbeing, and fortunes.
: O OMG! The Germans attacked. Welcome back! OMG Squeeeeeeeeeee!

hehe, picture 2 reminds me of Monty Python – “it’s the Spanish Inquisition” …

Both “Sandra and Woo” and “Gaia” gave me many smiles during the many years they were published. Thank you for that. Take care of yourself.
Yay, they’re back! And with they wanna watch KONOSUBA…
Wa ga na wa Sandra… EKESE-PO-LOOOOOSION!

Any chance the US GAIA book snafu will be fixed soon?
Get better soon (and take all needed rest).
