I am not really happy with some of the ads appearing on the website. However, you can only block specific ads at the Google AdSense management panel after seeing them. I have already a list of about two dozen rejected ads/websites, but I can’t control the ads every day. The whole management panel of Google AdSense is REALLY BAD and gives you practically no control over the type of ads appearing on your website. I will therefore exchange at least the banner on top of the website with a banner from the advertising agency Project Wonderful when there are 30 strips on our site (which is required by Project Wonderful).

Long story short: If you think an ad is particularly offensive, please report it here and I will then (most likely) remove it.

IMPORTANT: The following pieces of information are very helpful to me to identify the bad ads (I am most likely not able to do so with just a general description):

- Screenshot of the ad
- URL the ad leads to (just click on it once)
- Name of the company, product, website, ...

I haven't seen anything offensive yet I think, although I have seen some confusing ads, the oddest being about teeth whitening

I don’t see the offense. It does not make negative remarks about the mentioned groups but only states facts.

I too have no problems, but some people could get very defensive when it comes to religion, but then again, I dont think those people would be at your site.

I just saw a banner ad that flashed a lot saying I'm Xth visitor and I won. Normally, these are just annoying, but this just audible called out "Congratulations! You Won!"
I'm sorry, but NOTHING gives an ad the right to PLAY SOUNDS.

This is more than extremely irritating and I cannot allow myself to visit your site if these is the kind of ads you are running.

Also, I've been seeing a frequent of ad that predominantly feature a half-naked man with his pants hanging so low you can see the bottom contours of his abdominal muscles. With the man's demeanor, style, and the way the bottom half of the ad just barely gets cropped off the edge of the screen this ad looks highly akin to pornography, and is extremely disturbing, and more over, detracts heavily from trying to read the comic.

I’m sorry about that, but I’m not able to identify the ads with this description. (See also the update to my first post in this thread.)

I’m quite sure that these ads come from Google AdSense, especially if you should not be living in the United States. I will drop AdSense after the next payout anyway in favor of ValueClick which has a more transparent ad management system, but I don’t want to lose the € 47 that are currently in my account. AdSense pays after reaching € 70.

I saw it again!
This one: Image

I'm sorry, maybe it's just a personal thing, but I can't stand that ad.
It's not like I haven't seen a man with his shirt off or any such thing, but this particular one is very distracting and therefor irritating.

If I hear the ad that speaks to me again, I'll get you detailed information on it.

For another kind of "offensive"... I keep getting war-game-themed ads at Sandra and Woo since recently (and nowhere else). Especially "Battlefield Heroes" keeps freezing my browser (well, my computer is a few years old, but other ads use considerably less resources).

Is the problem on my side, or is anyone else experiencing this?

While they may not be offensive, most of the drug adverts are illegal in a number of countries. I am not suggesting you do anything about it as it is entirely Google's problem (and they are being investigated for it, because they make a lot of money that way). And abandoning Google is likely not an option seeing as they pay so much more than the others... (and it doesn't have the quirks of project wonderful (I think it's that one, but not sure) which usually advertises a webcomic on its own page)

Hello,
I don't know if this falls under your definition of "offensive", but there recently is a ad which auto-plays sound.
I'm really sorry for not noting down name or url, but I'll update this post as soon as i see that ad again. In the meantime, all I can say is, that it seems to be an ad for a fantasy-based onlinegame. (yes, i know there are only about 20 million of them, but it's really all i've got for the moment)
good luck if you wanna try and find it ^^

I don't know about you, but I find ads with noise the most offensive of them all!
TWC always has them, too.

Concerning my earlier post in this thread:

ok, I've got it. It's the ad for "perfect world international" and leads to this >> https://register.de.perfectworld.eu/pwiad11 << link.
there is also one screenshot attached, it is, however animated, so i think the above should be more useful

ARGH. NOW I GOT SOUND ADS TOO! This one was for Boston Market or whatever. I don't care. I hate, hate, HATE sound ads!

Edit: I found that these ads pop out a bigger ad and play sound when your mouse rolls over them. That's incredibly annoying as well.

The only ones that really bother me are the talking ads, both odf which are for iPods of some kind. But they appear in different places on pages, so there is no way pinpoint a specific plac eon a page where the ad shows up.

My antimalware program stopped a potentially malicious process when I accessed your site today (and, I believe, on a previous day). The log shows

2012/09/17 15:46:33 -0400 AppData\Local\Temp\0.8795535218045667 Trojan.Agent.MRGGen QUARANTINE

Internet Explorer's cache for 15:46 shows cookies from a LOT of sites other than yours. Some are familiar but others are not. Also, a site that is trying to plant malware might not use a cookie. Do you know the identity of every site that is trying to advertise on yours?

The same thing happened again; I am pretty sure it is this Web site.

Sandra and Woo itself is not infected and I’m unsure how this could be related to the ads on our site. I have no idea what to do against it.

I saw an ad for a site where you can find so called "fuck budies"
It was in Swedish. (Geo locator i assume)
It said something like "Find a fuck buddy now!"

The adress on the ad was: flirtfair.se
I didn't click the ad and i didn't take a screenshot since its my first time reporting an ad, so i didn't know it would help.
There was a picture of a girl laying down, she had sum underwear on i think.
I can imagine its unsuitable for a family friendly comic like Sandra and Woo.

I guess our new comic has an unfortunate amount of keywords that trigger such ads. I have disabled all ad services that don’t allow filtering for ad content for our leaderboard and skyscraper ads.

Discovered your webcomic today and found I really enjoyed it, turned off my adblock and came across this one a bunch. :( It keeps trying to install some software on my computer without my consent, which as a rule I find quite unacceptable. Thus I've had to re-enable my adblock to avoid it, I hope this gets resolved quickly. :(

I blocked the domain, but these pesky webpages often use several domains.

It’s not clear from your description what kind of action was required for the malicious installation request. Just visiting S&W, a roll-over, clicking on it?
