All my replies to people with a Comcast e-mail address bounced back.
To answer the two most common questions:
- Woo has already apologized to Shadow, but we couldn’t show that in the comic.
- The swamp monster has gone to star in a Hollywood movie so it won’t be available in the foreseeable future.
One of the best e-mails was the following poem by Robby, but there was no way to fit it into the strip above. I also received a good number of really clever or touching e-mails, and I would like to thank these people in particular for the time they spent on writing their messages.
You get blue like everyone
But me and Sandra North
Can make your troubles go away
Blow away, there they go…Cheer up, Woo
Give me a smile
What happened to the smile I used to know
Don’t you know your grin has always
Been my sunshine;
Let that sunshine show…Come on, Woo
No need to frown
Deep down you know tomorrow is your toy…When the days get heavy
Never pitter patter
Up and at’em raccoonSomeday, sweet as a song
Woo’s lucky day will come along
Till that day
You’ve got to stay strong Woo
Up on top is right where you belongLook up, Woo
You’ll see a star
Just follow it and keep your dreams in view
Pretty soon the sky is going to clear up
Woo,
Cheer up Woo, do
Cheer up Woo
Just be glad you’re you.
- Sandra: More than 300 people wrote a mail to cheer you up, Woo! For example, Chris wrote: “This recent arc has shown us more of what makes you special, and that your heart was always in the right place.”
- Sandra: Jacob wrote: “If I had to choose, I’d choose you over Ranger Rick and Rocket Raccoon, because YOU, Woo, are the best raccoon EVER! Keep up the good work, man, and I wish you many more kits.”
- Sandra: … and Simone wrote: “You and Sandra bring joy to me and my dad with every update! If it weren’t for you two, my father and I would have a much worse father-daughter relationship. Also, you helped me out of my deep dark place back during the cereal killer arc.”
- Sandra: We’ll always love you, Woo, and I above everyone else!
- Woo: Th– thank you…

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww… So touching!
FIRST TO COMMENT!
@ MathAddict:
NOOOO U COMMENTED WHILE I WAS TYPING
Robby actually slightly changed the lyrics to “Cheer Up, Charlie” (a song) for that poem, but it was still a good effort finding the song. I’ve watched Willy Wonka, but I sure didn’t remember the song. I had to Google a section of unaltered lyrics.
Great to hear so many people took the time to write, and that Woo’s happy again. We love you Woo!
And not cheering me up yet. The price for being everyone’s hidden shadow.
Dawwwwwwww
Yes, yes, everyone’s happy. Good, positive emotions, all around.
:’ )
Awww, I’m tearing up now…
She didn’t read the bee movie script like I asked.. But overall, these are great.
Woo, you and Sandra are loved by many people. Remember for every 1 person who wrote you there are 1000 more who feel the same way but didn’t write. I look forward to your future arcs and a lot more feels.
Well you have more than 300 patrons, so it makes sense that more than 300 people might write as well…

Just to be clear… It is more a response to a response that i got from Sandra, rather than for current strip itself…
happy ending! that was pretty cool and unique actually, dont think ive seen any other comic do that
Damn ninjas cutting onions…

Including me. Great strip! Ssoooo uplifting!!! Novil, you have serious talent! I love you man!
Do you still sell the/a book?
No bullshit here, I WILL give you $300+ for a book. Post the link here, you know my email is fake, sorry about that. I’m working on it. I would buy a spare book. The t-shirts were awesome too!
This strip was beautiful. I think Woo got the point!!!
Powree: Frames 3 and 4, absolutely perfect! I HATED anime before Sandra and Woo, thank you for enlightening me with your artwork. I loved Lisa Moore’s coloring but the ‘Dark and Stormy’ arc wouldn’t have worked in color. That arc http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2013/04/11/0472-a-dark-and-stormy-night-ii/ was the first time I teared-up for a webcomic. It still does, to tell you the truth!
@ FLIBIDIBI:
And they did so with a real, non-attention seeking post, too! Good on them.

I didn’t want to admit it but yeah, those damn ninjas! Why does Novil do this to us!?!
@ Pylgrim:
Lol. Right? The 90’s called they want there ‘first!’ Back!
I love this strip, so very heartwarming!
Sandra is printing e-mails… gah
Very touching.
Love this comic!
The last two panels are so touching. Really beautiful. It’s just a shame it’s triggered my allergies, my eyes are streaming.
ALLERGIES I TELL YOU!!
From time to time, people can be pretty darn cool. 🙂
I like the refrence there. Forget wich comic but in third panel with how sandra and woo brings the son and father together reminds me of a comic where both rhe son and the dad read a newspaper comic together just to talk about it.
@ Gap343:
Its probably a real reply but it reminds me of it just saying.
Camusensei wrote:
Well, she has to keep Woo away from the computer… 😉
@ TvTropesgotmehooked:
She prints them in braille. Raccons see best with their paws.
@ Lookfar:
Hahaha!
@ Pylgrim
LOL MY CAPS LOCK IS STUCK:
The cereal killer arc ? Seriously ?
Many people wrote a letter including me. I am happy for everyone trying to cheer woo up. However, how many people really did some action to help that little rascal? well, I disabled adblock. Thats a lot of effort!
ps: I wanna that hug from last panel.
Huh. An actual response to the email and shows he read it and everything. That was more than I expected. Good on you guys, making us feel like you really care (cause you do).
@ Lucario:
the
I hope Robby didn’t say it was an original poem instead of stating how he only altered the lrics to a song.
So, uh… have they gone to check on Shadow at all?
Hi there, Robby here. I fully admit I sent an altered version of the song ‘Cheer up Charlie’ from the film ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ (1971) as my email. I did not claim to have written the song, but I also did not cite the original source. I would also like it to be known that I did not intend for it to be interpreted as an original work, I merely sent it as a fun response the the request for emails. I apologize for any confusion and ill will I may have caused with my actions.
Darn all this dust in the air . . .(wipes a tear from his eyes) . . . people might think I’m getting emotional . . .
Awww, so sweet! See, Woo? Everybody loves you! 🙂
@ Lomond:
Simone here. Glad you thought my panel was touching. Also hell yeah! Damn allergies!
@ Ouhlala:
Simone here. Well the cereal killer arc was what was happening at the time. Sorry my depression didn’t coincide with a different arc
… Uh, guys…? Guys?
I’m the only one here feeling like the crap is still about to hit the fan, right? It’s only me, it seems, so it must just be a silly thought… Heh heh, silly me, the fear about things going dark should be long gone… Novil wouldn’t do the evil twist right after making us this happy. Right?! Right…?
… *gulp*
@ TvTropesgotmehooked:
LOL INCORRECT GRAMMAR TOO
@ AmbiguousMouse:
Oohhhh! I hope not! That is possible but I really hope not!
Why did you remind us?!
I’m thinking of becoming a Patron, but if you are right… :/
@ TvTropesgotmehooked:
Become a patron anyway – in appreciation of what we’ve had so far.
@ AmbiguousMouse:
If it ends, we will miss it. But sometimes an author needs to move on, and that’s ok. Or maybe the strip will change character, focusing more on character development than comedy, and that’s ok too. The one thing I don’t expect to see is for Novil to painfully force drag it out long after inspiration has failed.
@ Lookfar:
You’re right. And I feel kinda guilty for not supporting at all! I’m one of those that for some reason no ads show up on this site; 2 computers and my phone, no adblock installed. I plan on creating an account next week. 🙂
Even if this was the last month for the comic. I can’t remember what Novil said the next one might be about but I remember it sounding awesome. Critters in the woods or something, can’t find the post.
I really did like this arc! It seems to have ended on a sweet note. Can’t wait for Thursday!
Anyone else notice the poem was based off of “Cheer Up Charlie”, a song from the original Willie Wonka And the Chocolate Factory?
Just thought I’d say that.
@ Lucario:
I recognized it as soon as I started reading it.
My sister’s used to sing it to me when I was .mad as a kid lol
