The Red Hall 037

- Ilias: What’s so boring about administrating the third-largest estate in Cania?
- Sandril: Counter question: What’s so exciting about it?
- Ilias: Counter counter question: What super exciting duties await you that you can have such a big mouth?
- Sandril: I’m still considering several options.
- Ilias: And they’re all super exciting?
- Sandril: You can bet your life on it!
- Lilith: Do you two always have to argue!? You behave like little kids sometimes!
- Ilias: He started it!
- Sandril: Not true!

As much as they dislike each other, I sense a sort of bond between Illias and Sandril. They could probably be good friends or allies if they weren’t rivals in love. Still, I like both characters. Very human. Very believable.
Ha! I think I like Sandril more than Ilias now.
Guys! I just realized the comic from three updates ago was an FF8 reference! I can’t believe we almost let that slip by with absolutely no mention at all!
Wait, just thought of this.
“You behave like little children sometimes!”
“Would little children has access to sharp and ridiculously dangerous swords?!”
“I concur! A duel!”
YES
What’s with the spiders in Sandril’s eyes?
Ilias and Lilith remind me of myself and my girlfriend for some reason, even though this kind of thing doesn’t happen to me or her as far as I am aware.
Yes, put them in the line Lilly !!
Those childish creatures. xP
As a senior at University, I know all too well that ‘considering several options’ is code for “I haven’t been offered a #*$@(&$ thing”.

You know, Sandril… you kinda did.
…Sounds like me any my brothers every weekend
“HE STARTED IT!”
“Lol, no I didn’t.”
“RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
@ TraderInTown: I think I like Lily more than both of these (currently) childish adults!
Illias and Sandril really do not know what is heading for them right now. Angry mage after few even minor drinks. That can level a city.
great 2 big tots with big swords and non-safe armor on trying to kill each other….. this is going to be good
He started it? Really? That’s just pathetic Ilias.
Okay, this made me legitimately lol, good job
Guy in the red is seriously annoying to me. Seems to think he’s better than everyone else, and is quick to remind people. I might be wrong about this, but didn’t the guy in blue beat him in a (practice) duel?
So looking forward to when Red is knocked off his high horse… will also be laughing if Red’s exciting ‘opportunities’ suddenly were to… vanish from his taking too long at considering.
@ Skydron:
Yep he got beaten in their last duel, but to me that seens a common thing in their rivals relation thingy, probably someone is even keeping a tabs on each one victory or something
Also i think that Sandril is just boasting, somehow he gives me that air of I am a big shot, everyone wants me, i won’t be surprised if the truth is that he doesn’t have any offers at all, or even something beneath Illias current offer
@ Ipos:
Hmm…. maybe you’re right. Also, remember the guy crying help that was encountered immediately after the trial? Since the same thing was initially shown after the mage chick’s final as well, maybe its a ‘fixed event.’ Like it was part of the test. Red guy doesn’t strike me as someone who would go out of his way to help like the blue guy did.
And yes, before everyone jumps on me for not naming people I am REALLY bad at remembering names. I haven’t been reading this webcomic long enough to remember names, though I can say that, with great certainty, that I should have the names remembered come another 100-150 strips. I’m not joking either, even in my general life I’m bad with names.
OBJECTION!: little kids don’t argue like that!! it’s a proven fact that little kids tell something and then they cry!
@ Kishou:
Wow really? Because I totally wasn’t making a joke. Absolutely no joke to be found in that post, no sir. Move along everyone, no jokes to be seen about how much everyone wouldn’t shut up about FF8 when Red Hall began.
And that’s how Lilith turned to the Dark Side… xD
Seriously, Ilias sucks at finding out the right answers to send to a bully like Sandril. :O
He should have for instance invited Sandril to tell them about his possible options, only to snooze at the end IF Sandril actually has more than one option in mind. :p
@ Skydron:
Something tells me this guy might have some sort of reason for being the way he is. In Bleach and Naruto, Ishida and Sasuke respectively acted kinda like that, but thats because they’re both still sore about their respective clans being wiped out. Of course, those might be bad examples b/c they talk about it every ten seconds, taking away from some of the dramaticness, but still, he might have some sort of depressing background that’ll make you feel like a d*** for being so mean to him.
Or Sandril (I think that’s his name) might just be an a**hole, we’ll never really know until his backstory comes up
@ ASP: I don’t know about Bleach, but as for Naruto, young Sasuke was never a bully. There was a rivalry/friendship mix between the 2, shown for the first time during their tree climbing training between fights with Zabuza.
Here we’re dealing with something different : Sandril simply bullies Ilias because he can, because he knows Lillith has chosen him instead of Ilias. They may be turning around the same girl, there’s no rivalry nor friendship between those 2, simply annoyance. And that may cause Lillith to leave the both of them as a whole…
@ ASP:
Everybody’s got a reason for being themselves, so I don’t believe that Sandril is an asshole for asshole’s sake. He’s sore about his Dad, right? Gotta be something with that.
Mute spell in 3…2…1…
Must… not… Force choke… my men…
@ TraderInTown:
I can’t read sarcasm very well in a post, so sorry that I missed the joke. But frankly, I’m a bit tired of everyone continuously making that reference over and over again. I think the rest of us can pick up the reference and carry on like nothing’s happened.
@ Darth Killer:
Well, Sasuke wasn’t a bully per say (and neither was Ishida), but both were still kinda, a–holish. But those were not the best examples i could think of, it’s just that those are popular characters from popular animes; a much better (though more ambiguous) example would be Nao from the magic girl anime (don’t judge me) Mai-HiME, who was an outright villain in some of her appearances, but late in the series was revealed to have an incredibly depressing back story that instantly made her a very sympathetic character. Put simply in the course of one episode I went from wanting to see her die to crying my eyes out. One of the best animes I’ve ever watched.
Lol iam pretty sure alit of us can have this sort of relations
Aaaannnnnd… Ryn swoops in with his surprising wit and humor,
effortlessly getting BOTH girls while the silly rivals are too busy debating
the length of each other’s blades.
@ TraderInTown:
You mean “There are no guarantees in the future. That’s why TODAY, the time we have now, is important.”?
