“you will now be humiliated” the same thing my dad says every time he’s about to meet a new boyfriend of mine..
But of course a polite trap announces itself.
Oh god… why do humans think that something looking like “human” will have same softspots?
Aiming on golems head? it is about the last thing it needs… taking out hand, or leg would actualy be useful.
Not to mention the shot
Of course terrified? Tentacles
So, the first thing they do is attack. It seems perfectly capable of speaking to them in their own language, and yet they don’t even attempt to converse with it first. How pathetically typical of adventurer wannabes.

Yup, they’re rookies who still have to learn a lot. However, the golem already announced that it is hostile. So it’s probably better to not lose any time before attacking it.

One would think that the battle with golems on university in which they expertly slashed legs and arms would have given some useful skills to real life… you know… their last non-magical exam.
Not something their remaining teachers can truly advertise…
@ Razmoudah:
You sometimes get more EXP for fighting than for talking. They are practical.
@ Paeris Kiran:
To be fair, Ilias and Alissa didn’t do the fighting exam with each other. Though they probably should know how to dispatch the golem that seems to have the Blowback crystal they gave away earlier.
Didn’t they just give that away??
what’s the bet it’s that shadowdancer girl inside the golem?
@ Pyro:
or at least controlling it
Alyssa, didn’t Zelda teach you anything?? ALWAYS AIM THE EYE!!
Well lightning doesn’t work so its definetely well grounded. Next let’s see if it rusts.
Xobox seems to be using the Blowback crystal from earlier, meaning this might be the Shadowdancers testing their skills…
Just one question. The crystal seems to activate when you blow into it, and being a robot as well as lacking lips, how would Xobox activate it?
Anyone notice that it is using the same crystal that they gave the girl at the shoe maker shop?

I doubt she’s inside it. Not only is it small, but its arms can extent considerably, two things that could not be accomplished at the same time if a person was inside.

Oh geez…
“You will now be humiliated.”
That doesn’t sound dangerous.
*5 seconds later*
…Okay, things just got dangerous. -_-;

Actually, notice the type of shot she used. She used lightning, and judging by the fact that a robot’s main motherboard or whatever it is can usually be found in the head (not to mention its ability to see, hear, and talk), I’m willing to bet that she was trying to either short it out, blow apart the source of its main funcions, or at least hinder its combative ability. Unfortunately, instead of conducting the electricity or taking the blast, the shot simply bounced off, thus rendering it useless. I am also thinking this means that the shot still would have bounced off even if she had shot it in the leg. Sure, blowing off an arm or a leg might be useful, but that won’t stop it from fighting. Shooting it in the head may not completely stop it in the case that its main functions are in its back, chest, or stomach areas, but it will likely stop its eyesight if it has any, as well as prevent it from taunting, tricking, or intimidating the characters through speech.

XD True dat!
@ Crestlinger:
Good idea! Just get some water into its joints or the speaker on its face and it should short out quite fast (rust takes a while)! Then again, this thing is also probably waterproof, so the only way to beat it is either brute force, extreme knowledge of golem anatomy (where’s Tails when you need him?), or its owner will have to make it stand down. I’m betting on force or outside interference, since they probably don’t have knowledge of the golem’s inner workings.
@ Tenzen:
It has a speaker, which probably houses its voicebox and a small but powerful fan inside for the purpose of blowing things like blowback crystals. After all, this bot seems to be made for combat, so it makes sense for it to be able to use combat gems. The other possibility is that it’s simply some kind of magic.
Where is some water when you need it!?
Wonderful. It’s a hentai bot.

I can not imagine how water would be helpful in this situation… short of golem beeing squashed away by a tidal wave…
@ Insectoid:
Yes. Yes, they did.
This adds to their humiliation.
Looks like an efficient capture bot.
@ Cleave:
Seriously?
If you don’t notice it, you’re practically blind.
@ Pyro:
I second that idea!
Well, once you get past the fact that our heroes happily gave a piece of stealth gear to an assassin without even the slightest bit of negotiation, this trap was rather sudden <_<
Call me what you may, but at this rate, I think someone oughtta exercise some proper villainy and kill Lilith already. Seriously, the only thing keeping her alive at this point is the author' s charity :s
My first thought about the last panel- it’s slender golem!
