Aaret Melus == Ars? But good to see other… what exactly are they? Kind of dragons? Or gargoyles?
@ andreas:
It’s an imp. See here; http://www.sandraandwoo.com/gaia/cast/

Nope. Aaret was mentioned as one of Illia’s friends back in Shadowdancers 003. I’m supposing he was one of their classmates that got killed during the incident.
Ars’ widow… and child!? An “imp imp”? Cute!
If she has anything like her late husband’s expertise and innate power, this may be a major new factor in the ongoing struggle!
Wow she’s so cute, and the little imp too. =3
Awwww! Cute little imp demon thing!
You really have to admire Powree’s skill and talent as an illustrator. That’s an imp, for crying out loud, yet Ars’ wife appears so feminine. And Powree did it without any anamorphic tricks like long eyelashes and big bosoms.
And the little imp is sooo cute!
Aaret was mentioned (SD-3) as one of the victims of the attack.
The gravestone makes Aaret nineteen years old when he died, just two and a half months shy of his twentieth birthday. Since you have to assume that he was at the party as a graduating Academy student, it helps us place an approximate age on Ilias, Lilith and friends.

Not being rude, but where do you get your calendar information? All I could tell was that Aaret was 19 or 20, but the name of the months meant nothing to me… just seemed to be some arbitrary names that Novil dreamed up for the story.
Aaaaaaaaaaaawe! Ars’ kid is so adorable!

Try the Glossary, which contains a description of the calendar. Once you see which month corresponds to its Earth equivalent, you’ll notice a certain logic to it 🙂
However, without checking previous episodes, I don’t know where PMark obtained the current date.
@ mittfh:
D’oh! Silly me! Of course, the gravestone gives both the dates of his birth and death!
(If only it was possible to edit comments…)

Yes, Powree is slowly becoming one of my favorite artists. But I would be interested to see more dramatic pieces, like A Dark And Stormy Night III.
I just got finished watching some LSD-induced movie that just makes bizarre left-turn after bizarre left-turn and then I come here and its all humans-humans-humans… and now for two imps. And I just roll with it and say to myself “okay, here comes another inexplicable turn into crazy-town.” Then my brain makes the connections necessary to comprehend.
Coincidences.
Alternate scenario:
“Are you Ars’ wife?”
“No”
“Oh, sorry. I thought… nevermind.”
“You just assumed because I’m an imp, didn’t you…”
“…”
“…”
A cute imp. Not just a cute imp, a brain-meltingly adorable imp.
Well, now I’ve seen everything.
*BAM*
Whoa. Ars’s wife is a hottie.
This conversation probably won’t go very well, given that Ars’ wife likely believes Lilith to be responsible for her husband’s death. Hopefully Sandril doesn’t get the Idiot Ball and reveal too much about the plan.
Those furry his-and-hers cravats…
Woo and Lily, anyone?
It’s mini Ars! xD
@ PMark:
It’s the purple, I’m pretty sure it’s the purple.
Wait, so who was Aaret, and what’s with the rest of the names and the numbers in between them?
Also, while Ars’ wife is kinda pretty for a creature like her species, something about her hair/feathers/whatever those are throws me off a little.
Knowing there are gender-inclinations makes me curious as to how they get by with flying around naked.
Suddenly “imp physiology” is a subject of interest.
@ illeatyourself:
Aaret Melus was one of the students killed in the Red Hall massacre. The names and numbers are his dates of birth and death, the translation of which can be found in the Glossary (as pointed out to me by mittfh – thanks mittfh!).
For future handy reference:
• 17 Warmtide 1456 refers to the seventeenth day of the seventh month (July) of the 1456th year.
• 1 Lifespring 1476 refers to the first day of the fifth month (May) of the 1476th year.
Question to Novil:
What are the years numbered from?

Mini Ars! Cutest thing in a while.
From this page we learn that Aaret was a close acquaintance with Sandril. We already know he was a close associate with Ilias, as well. This reinforces the notion that just because Ilias and Sandril are rivals for love of the fair Lilith, that doesn’t keep them from working well together.
@ O-(-‘.’Q):
Sorry I’m late for the party. If I had to venture a guess I’d assume that male imps keep there junk in some kinda pouch or sheath. Human’s are one of the few creatures that have their genitals flapping in the breeze. Kind of a retarded design if you think about it.
Quick, get the Pokeball!
sandril kind of looks like young ezio
It seems that those with ‘Mel’ in their surnames are destined to end up as cannon fodder.
Ars’ child looks adorable, and his wife looks like an elder shaman.
