The Tower In The Sky 040

Unfortunately, the webserver issues are more severe than I thought. There might be a problem that some script running on the website requires too many resources. Therefore I have deactivated all WordPress plugins and the comment section. It will take a while until all features will be activated again since increasing the stability of the webserver is now the most important goal.
- Delvor Garrot: You! You!!
- Delvor Garrot: Eldor… We have to do something about him!
I want to punch that smug bastard very badly.
@ Fabhar:
Which one?
Judging by Eldor’s smug grin, everything’s going to plan. Create divisions within the government and manufacture an “us” versus “them” situation – otherwise known as “You’re either with us or against us.”
Not content with getting rid of the troublesome Academy and Ileasaareans, he almost certainly wants to get rid of the government so there’ll be no breaks on his power-grabbing ambitions. Or, if he’s really in league with Midgard, get rid of as much opposition to a potential invasion force as possible so conquering Cania will be a walkover.
@ TheManWithNoUserName:
…because there are lots of them in these last 3 pages, right ?
–save for the partially-bald man that hasn’t done anything wrong.. yet.
Revolution will happen in this country… I’m 90% sure…
Well other alternative… Somebody will do something about that guy and king will be pawn of somebody else without actual revolution…
The webserver running sandraandwoo.com had a serious storage malfunction and was offline for a couple of hours because of it. All your comments made after Tuesday, 24 September 2013, 01:30 CET, are gone. My latest database backup is exactly two hours older so there is nothing I can do to bring them back. I think my webhost Hosteurope handled the issue well. A technician had a look at the defect server although it’s 1 o’clock after midnight here in Germany.
@ Novil:
Oh, so THAT’S what was going on last night! Well that’s too bad. Let’s have a moment of silence for all those brave comments that lost their way.
I have a feeling that Eldor is after something more grander than a position of power. And there’s something about this page that makes me think he might just have more than stricktly evil intentions, and be a character who think the greater good justifies the means.
“You know I can hear you plotting my eventual demise, right? All you did was move to the other room. You even left the door open!”
Jeez Delvor, calm down. Don’t get your papers in a twist.
I am surprised that Delvor can be so easily manipulated, or that Eldor would want to.
I wonder what Eldor is up to. He is definitely playing a high-risk game here. I don’t care if you really are a high-level red mage, Delvor is powerful enough and ruthless enough that you definitely do not want to be on his bad-side if you can avoid it.
“Something”. But what? While individuals on Gaïa can be ready to kill to achieve their goals, it seems highly unlikely here – life seems to have high value in Cania, so even a minister can’t get away with murder. And if something happens to Delvor, Eldor will be the prime suspect. So any course of action that doesn’t end with mutual destruction has to be a political one – maybe Delvor will try to pit the nobles and the academy against Eldor? It shouldn’t be to hard if he simply tells the truth – a mysterious man with mysterious motives is manipulating the king and getting rid of any other advisor. Oh, and did I mention he’s doing his best to protect Midgard from Cania? Eldor might be smart, but if Delvor plays it well, the king might have a lot of trouble keeping a man everybody believes may have treasonous motives as prime advisor. Unless Eldor wants to pit everybody against him to convince the king they all are traitors who seek to rule in his stead.
@ TheManWithNoUserName:
Well, the one that was smug, of course. And there was only one : that white-haired mofo.
Slap him all you want, it’ll all be according to plan.
“Eunice, Eu-nice”.
Delvor: “That Eldor… I’ll show him! I’ll… I’ll… I’ll free that scapegoat prisoner! Pardon her from prison! That will show him, and definitely won’t foil any convoluted machinations in the most anti-climatic manner possible!”
Delvor did not get his position by simply folding his hands and waiting till his father cleared that post for him.
He may not be as much as a schemer as Eldor, but he will be no push-over either.
SO chances are that he has money, contacts and people to (nearly) even the playingfield with Eldor. After all people in power like to stay in power. And Delvor is far from powerless.
@phil
It is as I said above. Eldor may be a red archmage, but Delvor is not somebody to trifle with, either. Eldor is playing with fire.
How about slicing him in half with battleaxe, Delvor?
@PMark: Ah, sorry, kinda read only half of the posts. And yes we both agree on a nasty battle betweeen politicians where theft and assassination are not off the table.
Eldor: “Put out a job order for the local branch of the Companions…wait, wrong universe.”
“Only I’M allowed to manipulate the King!!!”
