- Ryn: Lili, and Ilias…?
- Ryn: I wonder what they were doing in the forest this late.
- Viviana: You’re implying…?
- Ryn: Nothing in particular. But there’s one thing you should know about Ilias.
- Viviana: Which is?
- Ryn: He’s been head over heels in love with Lili… ever since 7th grade.
- Viviana: Oh…
- Ryn: He knows it’s stupid, but he just can’t get her out of his head.
- Ryn: Nobody can.
- Viviana: I know what you mean.

Well…I just lost two coins on Sandril.
I don’t have a box deep enough for all the popcorn I need right now.
RYN!!!
Did we call it? We so called it. Don’t give up, Vivi! <3
The thick plottens!
But… but Ryyyyn. Your ONLY role so far has been that of a sidekick, and you can’t even be a proper wingman? How are you going to be a character with any depth now, Ryn?
Ryn: “On a totally unrelated note, I’m angling to be King.”
Oh my god, all those feels in the fifth panel. Did I hear a heart break?
I thought I could finally put the Lilias ship to peaceful rest. Well, golly gee NO, let’s just rip that sucker back outta the waters and cause more fan-shipping wars. Emotional rollercoaster here we come, weeeeeeee…
They’re both fine young ladies Ilias. Choose only one and suffer.
NnnoooooooooooOOOOOOOO
RYN THIS WAS GOING SO WELL FOR EVERYTHING THAT GOES WRONG FROM HERE I WILL BLAME IT ALL ON YOU REGARDLESS OF YOUR RELEVANCE TO THE MATTER AT HAND
Well shit.
Way to blast a hole in the Vivias ship, Ryn!!
Only Ilias can salvage things now…
Ohh, somebody is going to get a slap in the near future. I don’t know who but I’m calling it.
Pages like this make me wish I had a time machine to travel to the next friday. Becouse screw the math exam I have tomorrow.
“I know what you mean.” What’s that supposed to mean?

Actually, I imagine it’d be Lilith that would salvage things, considering she’d probably be the one to be aware of Ryn setting things awry.
That, or Viviana would be asking her what they did, and she would probably respond “Oh, nothing much, I just was telling him about how you have a crush on him.”
*Facepalm*
It’d be interesting if Lili and Vivi try setting each other up with Ilias now and Vivi ends up spilling the beans.
Darn it Ryn, stop ruining Lili’s OTP.

Ryn referred to how Ilias can’t get Lili out of his head, despite knowing it’s stupid that he can’t. So, Vivi replies that she understands how that feels.
… Alissa, you better run before you get caught in this soap-opera-style mess! Give them twenty more pages and they’ll bring you in, and then you won’t be able to escape! EVER! (XD)
@ myth buster:
I think Vivi is just saying that Lili is a memorable person, who is not easily forgoten. And that she understands what Ryn is saying.
Ouch.
It’s more than just the gutwrenching panel-5 heartbreak from Vivi. You can bash on Ryn all you’d like for either sinking or delaying a Vivias ship, yet if you look at his expressions, you can tell just how much pain he is in as well.
This sucks.
(Oh, to be young and in love.)
How dare you draw/write a sad Viviana!!
I will boycott this generously onlined comic for five minutes. 🙂
Panel 5 is just so ‘Awwwww… come here, hugs!’
Aww, poor Vivi. Her crush is so totally reasonable: two of the most crucial components of her life’s work up to this point have been achieved entirely due to him willing events into motion and then acting on that will in concert with others. I’m not saying he’s 100% percent responsible for these massive gains in her world, but his impact is robust and profound. And, you know, his overarching status as a pretty swell and talented gent.
The ship isn’t sunk yet. A voyage such as this requires some stormy weather before reaching its destination. The law of narrative causality demands it.
oh boy D:
@ myth buster @ flying-wolf-32 :
In German this panel is a bit more ambiguous: “Nobody can (make that happen)” is well within bounds, just as “Nobody can (get her specifically out of his head)”.
Admittedly, there is reason to believe Ryn talks of himself, just as Viviana about not being able to get someone out of your head.
Ryn you bastard what have you done
Man! This is more like it! This is what I call a plot thickening!
The only thing worse than a love triangle where people are tripping over each other is a love triangle where the actors are too scared to do anything.
Oh, of COURSE.
Vivi didn’t misinterpret the scene in the forest, of course she wouldn’t! Obviously she would just so happen to be in the same room as Ryn, which conveniently has a window through which Ryn sees Lili and Ilias walking out of the forest, which results in Ryn telling Vivi about how Ilias is crushing on Lili so much!
Plot convenience, stop trying to sink ships.
Perhaps panel 5 is Vivi resolving herself for the coming naval battle, instead of her being upset or heartbroken.
I’m also announcing that any future ships passing through this area must be wary of the Ryn-class submarine. It may inadvertantly sink or severely damage any passing ships.

If you start making royal decisions based on hearsay, your highness, your reign will be brutal and short.
As for Lili, am I the only one who wishes that the character who occupies this position did not behave like an eight year old and look like she was still in seventh grade? Very pretty, indeed, but in my corner of the universe, a brilliant mage on the brink of womanhood would be a bit further along the path to maturity. I’m finding the disconnect increasingly harder to handle.
Ryn haven’t you ever heard that loose lips sink ships?
Aw, poor Vivi. Her face in panels four and five… 🙁
Still, it’s a thing she needs to know. Let’s hope she can get through to Ilias…
For me, the big question of this strip is whether Ryn knows Vivi is attracted to Ilias and is trying to give her a friendly warning. I think that is probably the case, as there seems no other reason why he would tell her “There’s something you should know” in that way. I think he doesn’t look at Vivi throughout so as not to embarrass her. Very considerate of him, if so.
Also makes me wonder if Ilias was the only main character who didn’t know how Vivi feels about him.
@ Alexander The 1st:
It’s a love quadecahedragon.
Gosh dang it to heck, Ryn! >:(
@ awhorl:
Vivi is just as mature as Lili. She has been leading a branch of the IIM for years now. The only thing is that Vivi hasn’t had a life like Lili’s. Lili hasn’t had to worry about the things Vivi has, and has grown up with a relatively normal childhood.
I think the Liliana shippers just got more ammo from this one. Oh well, time will tell.
Hmmm let me check the chart:
Girl1 likes Boy1 and Boy1 likes Girl1.
Girl2 likes Boy2 but Boy2 likes Girl1.
This looks like a classic “Midsummer Night’s dream” setup.
But the last few pages made me relieved about 1 thing:
Lilith’s second notable personality defect(first she takes death of the royal family and the fate of her country too lightly shown in her talk with Viviana).
She’s too nosy about other people’s personal stuff(to the point of not shitting up for the other person to talk).
Those flaws actually make me like her a bit more(exceot the first) cause we rarely see her doing nothing but charity acts or massive magic stuff.

Ryn! Don’t say the unnecessary stuff!!!
Livi! <3
Not one word about the flat panel display on the wall in Panel #6? 🙂
What I think she means is that she knows all about not being able to get somebody of your head. That somebody in her case is Ilias.
I did bet against Vivi seeing Ilias and Lilith and drawing the wrong conclusions. I guess I give myself a half right.
WAFFLES wrote:
For this to work, Novil pretty much had to involve Ryn. Viviana is too intelligent and level headed to draw hasty conclusions from just seeing Ilias and Lilith together. Heck, she most likely knows that Lilith already has a boyfriend which makes the hasty conclusion even more unlikely. She pretty much had to be flat out told about Ilias’ crush.
NNOOOOO!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING RYN!!!!
Panel 5 is not ok.
No! No, stop, Ryn! You are NOT Danny! Stop Danny-ing it up! DAMN YOU, WILLIS!
