Character occurrence frequency 2011 to 2014

Here is a diagram that shows how often the main and supporting characters of Gaia appeared in each year. Note that there were only 28 pages in 2011. You can click on the image for a larger version.
Number of new pages per year:
- 2011: 27 + 1 cover
- 2012: 95 + 1 cover
- 2013: 84 + 2 covers
- 2014: 99 + 1 cover
@Novil Is Ilias still considered the main character to you?, I see in the cast page that it no longer states him as being the main character, just part of the Main Characters, and first on the list of course, and although he’s been getting more screen time (page time?) there is no clear focus on him besides the crush Vivi has on him, at least for now. Love this comic so much, it is my favorite webcomic ever (I even removed adblock from it) so that I may support you, even if a little bit. Haven’t you considered selling gaia merch?

The content of the comic is crucial, not the text on some supplemental web pages.

Thank you.

We had no luck selling Sandra and Woo merch in several attempts and there are therefore no plans to sell Gaia merch.

Aww, a shirt with the breaking all barriers illustration would be pretty cool, anyway thanks for responding.
I think it would be wortwhile to at least try some Gaia merch. The illustrations are beautiful, and there’s actually meaningful symbols that people would be interested in–like, say, an Ileasaar shirt or the shadow dancers logo, or the tower in the sky.
From what I’ve read of S&W, there’s not really any instant-recongization thing to go with it.
Also, on a few ranking things I’m aware of, Gaia outranks S&W.(Not sure how it compares to your hit counters, but gaia apparently generates votes).
Plus, y’know, swords and sorcery(and robot) things have a generic appeal.(Raccoons, on the other hand, not so much).
Also, Eldor swag.
Would be great to have “If you keep your mouths shut, you’ll be able to live on as if nothing happened.” on a poster or a mug or something.
…also, the risque “There’s no alternative. The touched ones must succeed!” on a condom. I don’t know if that would sell well, but it would at least have generic appeal. >.>
At the very least, post the idea as a poll question, to see how the response is.
@ Lucid:
I think the time to have had some Gaia merch ready for market consumption was months ago when the series ended (if not slightly before). You would have made most of your sales when interest was high and memories fresh. At this late date, I doubt it would be worthwhile to do so.
Your traffic to this site is probably nearly dead anyway; it’s been three months since you last updated, and the series is over. I clicked here by pure accident; I missed the webcomic in my bookmark folder I was aiming at. Imagine my surprise! ^_^;
This chart is…. KINDA interesting? Maybe? Not especially? Aside from 2013’s storylines focusing more on Viviana, I’m uncertain what point it’s trying to make. Idle curiosity?
I will keep this bookmark in my list, and hope the next updated page will say something to the effect of “Hey, since we had a great writing and art team already on a first-name basis with each other, we started a new project! Check it!”
The series is still in full swing. In fact, it’s apparently still in the first act (or early second act) of a three act performance.
What on earth makes you think otherwise??????
Also, 3 months ago for a final update? Where did you make that number up from? Some third party site? Did you ever suppose that wherever you looked up the statistics from has 3 month old data?
I mean, the last new page was released the 2nd of january, 2015. The last new page before that was released Tuesday, Dec. 30th 2014… and it’s been very consistently every tuesday/friday for practically the entire run(at least as long as I’ve been following it).
The oddness of that response is beyond bizarre.
@Novil
You should include 2015 in these stats. Viviana has 100% attendance! 😛
@Hinoron:
You might want to force-refresh your browser (clear cookies or something). Or perhaps your bookmark was hard-linked to an old page? You seem to be missing out on 3 months of awesome!
@ Hinoron:
This series has not ended. It is very much alive and is being regularly updated about twice a week.
How often do you come here? Doing a search shows that you comment off and on over on S&W, but you’ve only commented once before on Gaia. That was clear back in 2011 on page 20 of the Red Hall chapter. Is that the only time you’ve visited?
By any chance have you confused Gaia with some other webcomic?
She appears to be following the wrong sign in the last panel… has the world changed under her after looking at the signs, (given how strange a turn things have taken I wouldn’t be surprised) or is that an illustration error?
