Updating only once next week

There’s been a medical emergency in Powree’s family which is one of the main reasons of our current troubles to meet our release dates. Therefore I decided to update the comic only once next week. I hope this measure will give her enough preparation time to be able to meet our usual update schedule of two pages a week again.
Medical emergencies and family are much more important than even the best webcomic – if Powree needs to leave for a while to attend to family emergencies, this fanbase can wait and wish her and her family well…
Blessings upon Powree’s family, I hope they get well soon!
Don’t worry we’ll wait
Is the Friday update for this week cancelled?
Best wishes to Powree and family!
I would like to note that you’ve only actually promised 96 updates/year on the Patreon page. Since there’s 52 weeks per year, that would be 104 if you stuck to the schedule hard core.
The difference of 8 means that there’s technically 4 weeks where you could do absolutely nothing and still hit schedules.
One other thing, that you’ve sort-of done before, but I’ve seen other web comics take to a higher extreme–text-based updates. It’s not the most exciting of styles, but it could be done with various ways, like your list of 20 greatest wizards, or in short-story psuedo-greendew evening standard type pages.
This would allow you to keep telling the story, while letting Powree deal with whatever it is Powree is dealing with, using little to no input from her. This would buy time, and allow you to give some depth that is hard to capture otherwise.
It’s not something to depend on heavily, but for emergency situations, it’s helpful, and gives some latitude in what you do(think of all the things you want to express that are totally undrawable).
A thematic idea for the moment would be Lili giving a blackboard lesson on what she’s just learned today–it’s very much her style, and Vivi would actually be quite rapt in trying to help figure out how to get around this. Lots of exposition and explanation, and free form to explain rules of magic, minimal drawing required(mostly word bubbles and the blackboard itself… with some quick sketches of Vivi and Lili, or even plausibly stock footage.)
I know this might sound awkward or unsavoury in a sense, but it would maximize the level of de-stress on Powree, which is very important in situations like that–too much stress can cause physiological problems that would actually compound issues in the long run.
So, low-impact drawing(if any) so that Powree gets maximum relief levels, thus ensuring long-term survival of all parties involved.
We wish Powree the best and hope everything works out well in the end.
