- Ilias: We’ll never make it to the top of the tower unnoticed. And if Lili is up there, Eldor can’t be far either.
- Viviana: True.
- Viviana: So close, yet so far…
- Guard: Hey!!
- Guard: Stay put! That’s intentional damage to municipal property!
- Ryker Buffin: Ha ha, come and catch me!
- Ryker Buffin: Wha–?! Move it!

Wait a minute, that’s the symbol of the Shadowdancers, isn’t it?

Yes.
… I’m curious to see how getting ran into is part of the plan ^^
Where did we see the symbol of the shadowdancers?
@ ratfox:
Panel 3, graffiti on the wall under the speech bubbles and to the left of the buttress.
I think the comic navigation is broken. If you go back a page, next disappears.
Also, seems Vivi has a plan. Maybe.
Ryker, eh? The name seems familiar but can’t put my finger on it… or maybe it’s just my imagination.
@ mittfh:
I think he means where else have we seen the symbols, besides this page.
…i hope getting a head injury wasn’t part of her plan.
She wants Ryker to see her face and know it’s Viviana. You can see it worked by his confusion (hopefully). Clever 😉
Hey look! A distraction! *Loots pockets.

Same here. I’m almost positive I’ve seen that name before, but searching the site turns up nothing.

Well, besides being one of the basic techniques for picking pockets (wether to take something out or put something in), he’ll get a good close look at her face.
The mark is in the third panel, visible between the guard and the vandal.
@ Rex Vivat:
* Whether.
It’s obvious – she was hoping to “run into” someone from the shadowdancers. (to use an idiom)
Viviana just ran into her “number one” fan!
Looks like she’s using the newfound increased infamy of her new former guild to make her cover identity better viewed by helping a guard arrest one. Let’s just hope this delinquant does not get his head chopped off because of it.
Holy crap! Link from the Zelda Series is one of the Shadow Dancers?
For now I’ll just assume that’s just a boy having fun provoking the guards. Quite successfully it seems, especially as the Shadowdancers’ mark probably is forbidden.
But I really don’t know why Viviana moved into the boy’s way. She might not like the little prankster using their mark for fun, but now she probably will have to make a witness statement to the guard, which put her at risk of being identified.
Even worse if he is an actual Shadowdancer. She should have followed him instead.
*sees 3rd panel* Viviana: (“If we could get a Jumbo Size Magical Pencil™…”)
@ TheWombatOfDoom:
And he finally went to speech therapy!
An electric light bulb? Do the have those here?
I think that she wants to get the guy’s attention so she can find what’s left of the shadowdancers.
However, I don’t know how she plans to get away from the guard afterwards. Either have Ilias knock him out or, more likely, bluff her way out of it maybe.

Maybe you’re thinking of the Star Trek character.
I’m wondering what Vivi’s brilliant plan is. Besides getting the kid caught, the guard might give her a closer look which is definitely unwelcome. And even if she isn’t recognized, it’s not like they’ll award her with a tour of the tower for bumping into a minor criminal. Trying to save him and play the hero would go even worse, as she’d be burning yet another secret identity. There are only so many hair colors to go through.

Why would the guard give her a closer look? She “helped” catch the criminal. Police generally don’t question helpful citizens.
@ ratfox:
Well congratulations, shadowdancers! You got yourselves caught! Now what’s the next part of your ‘master plan’?
I’m going to take a guess and say that Viviana is probably going to tell the guard something like, “Hey, he’s my little brother, we’ll deal with him,” or something to that effect. Guard will probably be upset, but because it’s just minor vandalism, most likely won’t be able to arrest any of them (might fine them though; I’m just taking a guess as to the laws of this area), and will ultimately let all of them go. At least, that’s the most logical way this could play out, IMO.
I can’t tell, whose hand is it on Rikers belt bag there in the last panel: His or Vivi’s?
@ Dragon Master:
From the angle I’m going with his.
Okay, he’s going for whatever is in his pocket only after he collided with her. Is he’s supposed to pass whatever it is to her while they’re falling? Isn’t this assuming that his abilities in picking pockets are a bit too… supernatural? Vivi is quick thinker though. Or have they been training for those kind of situations all the time?
I know she has a plan an all. Even if i dont see it now.
BUT spray paint? i..i thought the monitors where magic , but if that exist i dont get the technology level of this world
That… IS JUST FUCKING STUPID !!!

I don’t think it works that way in this society. She’d have to have a very good bluff. Perhaps, they’ll be able to distract the guard but doesn’t seem likely. Maybe she wants to get arrested, talk to Ryker to find out what the situation is and then escape. I bet that Vivi knows several ways out of the ileasaarean jail if they even get that far.
Judging by the final panel, Vivi’s plan involves starting up a successful band. 😉 I wonder what Gaia’s equivalent of “Last Christmas” would be called…
@ zmonster:
They just showed a big screen tv and a live broadcast, with projector-shown spreadsheets. If it wasn’t for DND wizards laying down the groundwork of being magpies for anything they can pull through a top-hat-sized extra-dimensional portal, Gia’s fantasy setting rating would be shaky at this point.
Do they have spray paint? That stuff needs a compressed air or propane base. That could, though, easily be the setting’s version of a hand-made magic marker or bingo marker: ink and cloth with an ink-proof wrapper around it. Heh, I mentioned in the comments earlier about the wall is needed to stop random humans from wrecking anything they can get their hands on. That could have been the tree, there.
Also, exCUSe me, princess!
I am going to wait and see what Vici’s WHOLE plan is before I judge it.
