1. Mixture wasn’t launched yet
2. Tip of her staff is right in the middle, and we know her staff can focus spells of any level (Letter of Jael Bara 76)
3. Swirl in last panel looks like she’s resuming time
It looks like she’s going to launch the mixture into herself and absorb it, but then what? What’s the plan after nuking the tower?
Reminder: Mixture consists of dissolved Tear of Gaia in temporal vibration, contents of Soul Sphere (including Lili’s soul and something that scared(?) her when she retrieved it) and a lot of raw magical energy. And it will all be additionally focused by Lili’s staff in a second.
We know Lili’s execution was a farce (unless there’s time travel shenanigans involved), but was the stream monitoring also a farce? Lili seemed to hold that archmage in high regard at another time so did Eldor fool the archmage, was the archmage in on it, or does the explosion actually not happen? From the time it was detected (either while they were trapped in Oakdale or right after Lili ported them out of Oakdale) until the time it ceases, Lili was with Eldor but had already a) blocked him from reading her thoughts b) learned a bunch of spells c) seen the future and started messing with the past? (or maybe that didn’t start happening until TWBH 174? When DID she get the ability to see forward and backward?)
How do you stop Eldor from body-hopping to whoever kills him?
Watch her final ultimate spell be time travel and she returns time back to before the attack at school (or even further back) and goes to kill Eldor all the way back then, basically destroying this current version of Gaia to save the old timeline of Gaia, fullfilling the Prophecy of Lilith destroying Gaia, but at same time saving Gaia.
Current Lilith and Current Eldor seem to be about same strength(Since Lilith needed him to be distracted to stop him now, but still can’t beat him), previous Eldor might not be as strong though and she could go back in time, freeze him in time or lock him up somewhere, kill him and make it so his soul can’t jump to someone else.
This feels like the build up to the final sacrifice.
We only assume that because of folk like Jesus. But I don’t think the point of all of that was that everyone sacrifices (that’s a suicidal death cult and/or dystopia), but rather people don’t get so comfortable with the idea of safety that they forget to live or allow injustice to go on. Both prosperity gospel and some sort of socialist mindset of Christian teachings are bad extremes. The important thing is live but not live for the sake of living.
Beside, the Final Summoning is a false tradition. You can only truly beat Sin by using Rikku and Auron and alot of Strength Spheres.

Maybe she never lost her mojo? Maybe she was acting for most of it. Also there was that whole scene where she was basically laughing insanely. There’s a fair chance this plan is seriously messed up.
Simple. Trap him in this body, or don’t kill him and just make him powerless.

I don’t think so. I think this timeline is right. Bhaal’s shield is supposed to be blown up, but so is this tower. Eldor was right about magic needing to be merged, and corrupted monsters like Mr Sabrecat are not cool. What I think this is about is her becoming Trias. She probably loops time like in Lucy (I’m probably the only person who liked that film) and then spreads rumors of herself to make a strange cult.
What is she going to do? She found something better, she said so.
First of all, Lili would never have cast the ultimate spell. Eldor expected Lili to die after extracting her soul (or he lied about it), then he would use the sphere, so no living being casting any spell, only an automated procedure. Yes, surely Lili’s soul carries her signature, to say so, but it’s not Lili, Lili would be dead. And she isn’t. Whatever is going to happen is not what Eldor planned. At all.
Eldor tried to abort something, if time resumes maybe what Eldor did in the controls do something or maybe it doesn’t matter anyway, but I’m afraid we are going to see nice fireworks (those shields protecting Eldor and her friends), I mean, the tower or whatever be left of it has a one-way ticket, to the toilet with or without pulling the chain (irrelevant), in fact under it there is some kind of black hole in the sense you can get bored throwing whatever you wish without stopping.
I wonder what “something better” could be. Some sort of reparations of all or part the harm Eldor did?
“even better” has it going on!
Now Lilith might maybe:
– get her soul back?
– become the Avatar of Gaia? / get eternal life (which would be ironic w.r.t. Eldor)
Or she could cast a Time Loop spell on the planet. Everyone inside of that loop would think of it (prophecy it) as the End of the World since time would NOT continue forward at that point. Then she could start over from where ever she is outside of that loop. And if she was powerful enough to do that she could probably pick and choose people to remove from that loop to continue forward.
And Eldor would be trapped inside that loop and NOT be able to transfer into a new body since he would not be dead.
All the way back to the vision at the party. We haven’t seen that scene yet, and so this isn’t the last stand of Lilith.
Let me see if I can be more clear.
This vision, from very early in the story, hasn’t come to pass yet, as far as I’m aware. http://www.sandraandwoo.com/gaia/2012/02/10/the-red-hall-039/
Thus, this isn’t the end of Lilith, because she has to be there for at least that one more scene.
That said, the outfit looks like a match for what she’s wearing now. At least what little of it we can see. So this could be as early as later the same day.
Another angle on her motivations—perhaps more than other facets, this is the only feasible way for her to fully regain her soul—in other words reverse what Eldor did back in the other tower. Surely there will be other consequences, but maybe her primary goal at the present moment is mainly feeling whole again.

And if everything goes right, she’ll have her soul back plus some (the whole?) power from the tear of Gaia. Nice.
Maybe this is what she was talking about when she said “I found something even better”.
@ Samantha:
Well put. People assume the truly shocking aspects of Christianity as normal now. They’re not. They were quite shocking.
Also, speaking of Christianity and wealth, there’s a lot of good archaeology recently that shows that when Jesus spoke of this or that town’s wealthy, there was a lot of local context to his judgement and HOW they had acquired wealth – absentee farmers with tenant thralls rarely got praised, but bankers (it turns out that Petra isn’t the only bank in the region, lots of Israeli towns had things we’re far mote certain were actually banks) sometimes came out OK.
How is this kind of tubework drawn nowadays? I can’t see any tiny inconsistency. Do you draw a large 2d background and crop it for different panels, oder is there some underlying 3d model, or is it just plain effortful attention to detail?
@ Netherdan:
Perhaps as soon as the next page posts the comic will suddenly be located at sandraandwoo.com/lili and all of the instances of “Gaia” in our past comments (and text in the comic) will be replaced as well?
Maybe Lilith is “just” casting a time suspension shield? :p That is indeed better than destroying the tower. It’s the one thing Eldor can never break or bypass. Oh, and of course, it would be the result of Lili “playing with time more than sending a rock a few seconds in the past” 😉
Ultimate spell incoming?

The shower of power!
@ jeffepp:
Yep. Yes it does. Is this where things end for Lili?
Welp… this does explain where she got the power to cast a spell that would end the world.
… not really sure why though, or what EXACTLY she is doing, but hey- probably there’s some explanation.
Lilith predicted to cast the planet-breaker spell.

Who was the Lili that Eldor had executed?

@ Deathbeams:
easy way to stop him from hopping to his killer, have him frozen in time when it happens…..
The endgame of Convergence where all meets, and then silence.

@ Deamon:
Time for Lilith to replace gaia…
(or become another goddess? green stream theory! )

That last panel seems to have 4 different colours swirling. I bet there will be some surprises for us all.
What if she’s Gaia and this is her plan to return to her power?

I really appreciate the slight warm colour on Lili’s cheeks in the final frame. That is a really nice touch.

It seems as if a mixture of the Red, Green and Blue streams can manipulate reality itself, Lili shall become a god and replace both Baal and Gaia
