My comment for this page from Gaia: sic mundus creatus est:Some people are critical of such long sections with background information about the setting of a comic. But it would have been almost impossible to include that much basic information in normal dialog. For example, all inhabitants of Gaia know who Arathor is and would simply say his name without further explanation. This would confuse the comic’s readers, who’ve never heard the name before.

It’s an art knowing how and when a good lore dump is needed. Such an instance as this is easily justified.
Honestly, I think it’s done very well here. Certainly a lot better than other stories where characters would just randomly lore dump for no apparent reason, especially when the other characters would already know of what they’re talking about anyway.

And more of that, the “fifth grade essay” perfectlty justifies the apparent simplicity of the topic, which is easier for the reader to digest.
After that the reader is ready for little drops of extra background, nuances, etc. Very well handled.
