Novil’s answer

Sekhmet

It is not clear if Killian is going to be rescued. Please save him, he’s a really cool guy and he deserves it.

Kilian is fine. He’ll be featured briefly in the epilogue.

Sekhmet

Why the heck Viviana had to be tricked to enter the portal in the corridor. [...]

Because she wasn’t able for “free her mind” and always had a lingering doubt of the wall’s true nature in her mind.

Sekhmet

What is the link between Lilith and Viviana. They are born on the same “energy”, as well as San, what does that implies for Vivi?

Viviana was conceived at exactly the same moment as Lilith and San, which gave her a strong spiritual connection to them, especially to Lilith. Note how their souls dance around each other in Breaking All Barriers #156.

Sekhmet

Vivi feels Lilith, and at some point “gave her” energy…

If you mean the episode at the end of The Way Back Home, then Viviana didn’t literally give energy to Lilith. It was just moral support.

Sekhmet

And is it linked to the special difficuly Vivi had in her shadow realm?

Yes.

Sekhmet

The shadowkeep is destroyed… what about people who were there?

If there were still some of Eldor’s men, the collapse would have killed them.

Sekhmet

And speaking of that, what really happened when Eldor took over the shadowkeep? Did he kill all the people here, took them prisoners… ? Where are they?

There were only a few soldiers there which were either dispelled or killed by Eldor’s men.

Sekhmet

What really happed with Lilith’s soul? She was suffering a lot, but powerful healers could help a bit. What about her soul now?

Lilith’s soul was first merged with the Tear of Gaia in The Bipartite Mind #37 and then reunited with her body in The Bipartite Mind #42.

Sekhmet

[...] But what about Silas, then? Since he was “with” Eldor in a way. Was he the only “real” guy in the setting? Or was he dreaming too?

Silas was the only “real” person in Oakdale apart from the heroes.

Arent

(1) Why was San sacrificing herself for Vivi? It seemed out of character.

Because of her strong sense of duty. Don’t forget that she’s the High Priestess of the Church of Gaia. See also The Last Queen Of Gaia #64.

Arent

(2) Why was Baal unable to cast a similar spell like Lili? Or to merge with the tear of Gaia herself?

Because if she had been able to do that, she would have done it a long time ago, and there would have been no story.

Pilgrim

Hopefully the epilogue will address what happened to all of the people who were in all of these collapsing caverns, living above them, or caught in the resulting earthquakes.

The caverns are below the uninhabited Dalelands, so there were no casualties.

Pilgrim

Or explain how such a non-event could have been prophesied as a world-ending threat.

You call the total destruction of Bhaal and the Redstream a non-event? What?!

raven0ak

Will Ilias and Lilith & rest return to academy to resume award ceremony that was interrupted?

No.

raven0ak

Will Vivian get to rule now properly as queen and will the be king coming along?

This will be part of the epilogue.

raven0ak

Will Oakdale situation be properly cleared?

Well, the place was burnt down. I guess that Lilith could restore it on request of the villagers.

Michael

How are all the fallen (or at least the ones not on the anti-Ileasaar side?) remembered and how their survivors live?

The martyrs are fondly remembered of course. This will be shown in the epilogue. I don’t understand the second part of the question.

Michael

What happens with elves now?

Ysdar will be opened. Since Eldor had many followers, they probably feel much more reserved about the new natural order and their new queen Viviana. However, others will certainly be very glad that Eldor’s rule is over.

Michael

How much of her plans she had to hide from Eldor does Lilith reveal to her friends now?

Lilith will tell her friends everything they want to know. Since the readers already know about the events, it would be boring to feature this in the epilogue.

Michael

What did Lilith really expect when she took the rainbow knife?

I think it’s clear that she intended to kill herself and thus thwart Eldor’s plans with her.

Michael

Where Lilith’s time detachment and time escaping comes from, from (a part of?) her soul going to the Spirit Source, from her outside-time future self working in the tower after absorbing the time-vibrating Tear of Gaia, of from somewhere else?

Both I would say.

Michael

Has Lilith spent (almost) all the power of Tear of Gaia on Ultima, and can she convince anyone she is again «just» the most powerful barrier archmage in the world?

This will be shown in the epilogue.

Clever-

shitter

What exactly was Eldor’s plan in the first place?

Eldor explained his plan in detail at the end of The Way Back Home. I don’t have much to add to this.

Clever-

shitter

Is there an in-story explanation why Lilith made Amos show the newspaper to Ryn, starting his research?

I want to leave it open to interpretation how deliberately Lilith influenced various events in the past.

00m

Some people expected a tens-of-pages-long epic battle even though it should be clear enough that it’s not the main point of the whole story. The general theme of the story is about powerful people/beings playing a VERY long game of cunning and trickery to achieve their long-term goals. When one side finally loses the game they get quickly obliterated, and that’s it.

In accordance to the spirit of this story, battle scenes almost never last longer than 5 pages. Most, if not all of them, end up with the loser getting steamrolled or was winning at first but then the tables suddenly turned and they got quickly killed. An epic long battle would go against that spirit and look detached from the rest of the story. Indeed it would have been eye candies, but would it serve anything to the plot?

For this matter, color me impressed on the author for being consistent with the theme to the end.

Great explanation! Thank you.

Sphyrwa

How did Lilith’s “brain shield” spell work that protected her from being mind-read by Eldor? Did she actually have two sets of minds that were unaware of each other, or was her consciousness still “whole” but some of her thoughts were protected?

She separated one piece of her mind and trapped Eldor’s mind reading spells in it so that he never saw her real thoughts. She still had full control over both areas of her mind.

cryum

Were all the time travel foreshadow words necessary, or just side effects of the time travel?

If you mean the visions from Viviana, I want to leave it open for interpretation if Lilith created them deliberately or if they were a side-effect of her spells.

cryum

Since Lilith managed to kill Bhaal, does that give her the greatest claim for the world throne?

Lilith isn’t interested in becoming queen. She’s very fine with Viviana on the throne.

cryum

What happens to the blue and redstream now that both gods are dead? Is either even good or evil now that neither has a sapience to represent them?

Lilith destroyed the Redstream. Since the Redstream didn’t exist before the Darkness, there’s no reason to assume that its absence could cause problems.

The Bluestream is very much fine, which will also be shown in the epilogue.

I think that calling Gaia “good” and Bhaal “evil” falls short in general.

cryum

How did Lilith’s cure even work? Did they reconnect her body to the soul?

Lilith’s soul was first merged with the Tear of Gaia in The Bipartite Mind #37 and then reunited with her body in The Bipartite Mind #42.

cryum

Is San alive? Wonder if she’s secretly a new villain.

No, San is dead.

Drake

I think it would be better/more appropriate if a new tree is grown to signify a new beginning for the world.

I’m still unsure how the Great Tree should look like. I will have to think of something in the next weeks.

Grathew

What really happened to Greendew? I always found that part of the story muddled.

Greendew? Do you mean Oakdale? I think the story of Oakdale is well explained in the comic. However, it’s spread over pages separated by a lot of time. It will become clearer when rereading the story. The Complete Gaia will be an excellent opportunity for that! ;)

Grathew

What was the connection between Lili and Vivi? Cause it’s implied that they are soul sisters or something but I don’t remember what or how that worked.

See my answer to Sekhmet’s question.

Grathew

That adventurer party, what did they get up to?

We’ve seen them fight a monster in The Last Queen Of Gaia #34 as part of a quest they took. Since they’ll likely not be invited to the wedding, I don’t think we’ll see them in the epilogue. Maybe I can place them in the audience somewhere.

Grathew

Children/weddings/legacy of our main cast.

I don’t think I’ll show something further in the future than Ilias and Viviana’s wedding.

Ore

Is San de Vertis really dead?

Yes.

Ore

What will happen with Kilian, who was trapped in Vis?

Kilian is fine. He’ll be featured briefly in the epilogue.

Ore

Any chance to know what are the creatures that live in Vis?

That was explained by Kilian in The Door #32. I have nothing to add to that.

Ore

Why is Eldor affected by the Ultima spell? Is it because of his conection with Bhaal?

Lilith destroyed the whole Redstream which of course also terminates the effects of all Redstream spells.

Ore

What is the purpose of knowing that Viviana can open the “sealed door” (http://www.sandraandwoo.com/gaia/2013/10/29/the-tower-in-the-sky-049/) if it wasn’t used at all?

Viviana opened that door in The Bipartite Mind #6, so I don’t get your point.

Rhinotrip

What happens to the Redstream after Lili’s spell? Was it really Bhaal’s stream, or did the stream exist before Bhaal and she/he just tapped into it?

Lilith destroyed the Redstream. It is unquestionably related to Bhaal.

Rhinotrip

What happens to the Spirit Source after Lili’s spell? The room holding it appears to be falling apart on the previous comic

No, the Shadowkeep is falling apart, not the Source room. Note how there’s only solid rock behind the big door. That illustrates that it served as a portal.

Rhinotrip

There are several hints that Eldor and Bhaal’s version of history (ie. Gaia stole the Spiritstream from Bhaal, created Isaac and started the war) are false, but it would good to have final clarification.

I don’t want to give a definite answer on this. I don’t think it’s possible for the inhabitants of Gaia to find out the ultimate truth™, not even with Lilith’s help.

Rhinotrip

Were most of the elves in league with Eldor, and if so what happens to them?

It’s a sliding scale from “pure adoration” to “eternal disdain”. Since Eldor had many followers, they probably feel much more reserved about the new natural order and their new queen Viviana. However, others will certainly be very glad that Eldor’s rule is over.

Rhinotrip

What is the origin of Gaia and Bhaal? if they were sisters, who were their parents?

“Sisters” was used in a more metaphorical sense. They don’t have parents.

Tony5n

I would like to know what was with Lilith saying to Ilias the word “kill”, I always assumed they would have to kill her or something but it was never brought up

The word “Kill” plays a central role in the page The Bipartite Mind #31.

Elegast

For the epilogue I would love to see Dyson in archeologist gear and Ryker’s family at the wedding.

Dyson won’t wear work clothes to a wedding.

Ryker’s family will be featured briefly in the epilogue.

Elegast

I did not understand what Lilith did with her time changing spell, it seemed she just did the weird clues and teleportations in Oakdale as well as giving Ilias the “I’m going to ___ Bhaal, will you come along?”

If these “weird clues” were exactly what was needed to achieve the shown situation, her spell seems to have worked perfectly.

Elegast

I’m unclear about the purpose and actions of the second San but I my just be remembering that poorly

The Way Back Home #84 explains it.

Elegast

‘Sup with Trias

The hooded guy was simply called “Shady prophet” in the comic’s script. That should answer all questions about  the Trias sect. It was never meant to be more than just a funny episode, like the one with the tailor at the party.

Elegast

Viviana recovers from losing both her legs and just waking up from a coma in what seems to be the span of a minute

Yes, it was a bit rushed. But then you have other people complaining that the story doesn’t progress fast enough.

Elegast

It would be nice to see Ilias use all the sword training he had It would be neat to see him duel Sandril Right after Eldor Takes his body.

Neat idea. But the course of action in these pages didn’t allow it.

mt21

I don’t understand the part earlier where Eldor removed Lilith’s heart and did something to it. It does not seem to have been exploited later in the comic so I don’t really understood what happened. This was in “the way back home” pp 173, 174, 175 and 176 afaik

Eldor stole Lilith’s soul and put it into the soul sphere. The purpose of the soul sphere is explained by Kali in The Bipartite Mind #34.

Zaphod Beeblebrox

How long has it been since Red Hall 001? (In the Gaia timeline.)

The Tower In The Sky #30 shows that the day before graduation was 30 Greenbring (March) 1476 and The Bipartite Mind #22 shows that the final day was 30 Warmtide (August) 1476. So the whole story happened in exactly 5 months.

Cinderlake

Will there be a “Joril Buffin is a booger brain” tax as promised ?

I don’t think so.

Cinderlake

And what about the Buffin family after Ryker’s death ? Will they ask for Ira’s head ?

They will be featured briefly in the epilogue. Since Eric’s group acted within the rights bestowed on adventure groups by Gaia’s governments, I don’t think they can make many demands.

Cinderlake

Also, will Cassius get his “money” for helping Viviana ?

Cassius will be featured briefly in the epilogue.

Quentin

Wasn’t there an encounter with a witch? Something about ‘Funny, that’s what you wished for last time’? What was that all about?

The dream is a direct reference to one of my favorite scenes in the classic role-playing game Planescape: Torment. The dream conveys that something is wrong with Lilith and that the revelation will be unpleasant.

Alex

what is the real story between bhaal and gaia? Were they old elven sisters from the first age? And in that case what is the real origin of the world? Or do the come from another planet, like Jenovah?

Lilith is making an important point in The Bipartite Mind #52 that this doesn’t matter for the current state of the world. But I can say that they were clearly not elves. And there’s nothing in the entire story of Gaia that the world could consist of more than just the single small planet.

Alex

now, is the shield around the source really necessary? By the way I guess that Lilith has suppressed all acces to the source to avoid future problems..

This will be addressed in the epilogue.

Alex

what kind of technical construction were doing the lost souls in Vis?

Pointless construction. A bit like Minecraft ;).

Tina

I’ve been with this comic since day one. My favorite character has always been Lili. I even named my cat after her.

Awesome!

Durendil

What was the role of the great tree in the plot ? Is it a normal tree, or an intelligent creature (ex : the hag) that has been manipulating events behind the scene ?

The Great Tree plays an important role at the end of The Way Back Home. The tree is clearly not sentient.

Torchy

I really don’t understand why people are disappointed with the battle with Bhaal, or feel it was out of place or even out of pace. There have been all sorts of hints and foreshadowing throughout the comic that she was going to kill Bhaal and cast a very powerful spell. If you were surprised by this, you weren’t paying attention.

Lilith specialty is barriers. She learned how to cast a time suspension shield as well as how to destroy one. Eldor couldn’t destroy one or he wouldn’t need Lilith. And Bhaal couldn’t destroy it or she wouldn’t need Eldor nor Lilith. Thus, it’s not surprising Lilith could cast a barrier that Bhaal couldn’t dispel. Though Bhaal clearly tried various different spells and damage types to destroy the shield.

Lilith also said that she had a lot of time to prepare her spell. When you can literally stop (suspend) time, you can take all the time you want/need to learn a spell.

Lilith simply outplayed Bhaal and Eldor both. That the story is different than some tropes would lead you to expect, doesn’t mean the story isn’t good. It’s actually very intricately put together and internally consistent which is pretty awesome, in my book.

Very well said!

Gene H Boecker

Will the Great Tree of Greendew spout again or is that a casualty of that just happened?

I’m still unsure how the Great Tree should look like. I will have to think of something in the next weeks.

Tim

That makes me think of the old hag. Perhaps Lilith is an “old soul” now that she has spent so much time in suspension, working on her magic. Although her staff didn’t resemble Lilith’s Staff of Stars…

The old hag is just a generic dream character.

Tim

(Related: Why did someone name it “Staff of Stars” on a world with no stars? …Okay, that one isn’t important.)

A star is a simple geometric shape that exists in various forms on Gaia, e.g. as part of spell effects.

HKMaly

I would definitely like to know what happened to dwarves.

It’s safe to say that they were indeed wiped out soon after the Darkness. It’s something I just don’t want to explore in more detail.

HKMaly

But most importantly, what will now happen with souls? Wasn’t the Source being in impenetrable time-suspension spell kinda problem and reason why killing animals was so unpopular on Gaia?

The epilogue will feature some dialog about the current state of the Spiritstream and the Source.

The main reason for killing animals being unpopular, or even a crime, on Gaia is that it’s unnecessary.

HKMaly

And will world really work ok without redstream now?

Since the Redstream didn’t exist before the Darkness, there’s no reason to assume that its absence could cause problems.

Deirdre Mundy

I would like to know more about how the three girls are/were connected by the circumstances of their conception. It seemed like you were setting something up, but then it fizzled

I believe their special connection is explored thoroughly in the comic. But they’re still separate people with their own thoughts and agendas.

aaaaaa

I wonder about the Shadowdancers. They’re still alive and they even found a new hideout, but what will become of them? It seemed pretty obvious that Vivi knew her thief days were over when she signed her public letter, but the rest may not be too happy about that — although it’s hard to stay a thief group when your former leader is now the queen.

There will be more than enough interesting jobs in Viviana’s administration for them, e.g. in Salacea and Milo’s ministry. The more adventurous ones may want to go treasure hunting in the ruins of Mithra or the Thunderbolt Stronghold, now that it’s safer there.

aaaaaa

123456789

Also, what happened to Cania? Former kings are now acting as governors of sort, but Cania no longer had any such person. Who will take over?

Probably Gregory of Askaroth, with Ariella of Cheysh as his vice if she’s ready to settle down.

Immortius

I was guessing Malva would have interfered with Lili’s taunting of Vivi to get her through the wall.

Good suggestion!

Antman537

I’d be interested to see the fallout of San’s death; I felt like it was a bit abrupt.

San’s death will be mentioned in the epilogue and Savos will be featured.

Me-me

I would also like to clarify what the *precise* meaning of the old hag dream from Breaking Barriers 071 & 072 was – obviously a prophetic dream, but what kind?

See my answer to Quentin’s question above.

Me-me

In Breaking All Barriers 142, what did the child mean when they said Gaia was dying and it was all [their] fault? Gaia was already dead, right? And why would the illusion say it? Dream message from the sleeping girl, fine, but why did the sleeping girl want to say it? I don’t get it.

The scene further conveys that something isn’t right with the inhabitants of Oakdale. However, I’m not fond of these two pages and wish I hadn’t written them in this form. Maybe I’ll try to improve the dialog for the remastered version.

maravilla

There was quiet the time invested to point out that Vivi and Lillith were conveived at the same time [...] They NEVER mention it again! I do not get the significance, why they even needed to find that out!? Why was it so important?

Ilias and Viviana don’t say that it’s important. They visited Lilith to find out more about its significance. Together with Ryn’s investigation, which yielded a much more complete result, they could have gotten a solid understanding of all that happened.

Tormyr Cousland

This might not be best revealed in story, but I am interested in when Lilith knew what she knew. What was the timeline of her progression? Many things have been referenced, but Lilith was good at deception for a good cause as she would lie to her friends to protect them.

Lilith gained a much better understanding of everything and the future timelines when touching the soul sphere in the Source room.

Tormyr Cousland

Reading the forbidden section at the academy. This might have been a lie cover reading the Bhaalstream book while waiting at the source, but if it was not, what did she learn back then?

Your assumption is correct.

Tormyr Cousland

What did she learn from Breaking All Barriers, and how much of her tiredness was an act?

She needed the info in Isaac’s Breaking All Barriers to be able to learn how to break a time suspension spell.

I don’t think much of her mental state back then was an act. Those books did corrupt her mind.

Tormyr Cousland

What was the hag? If she was real and not just a dream, what did Lilith learn from her third wish?

See my answer to Quentin’s question above.

Tormyr Cousland

How much did the healers’ spells help after her soul was separated from her by Eldor?

She was mostly okay after it, so they helped a lot.

Tormyr Cousland

What did Lilith learn from the book in Vis? Was it just about how the path to the source worked, or was there something else?

I want to leave this open for interpretation. But the path to Vis was definitely the most important part of the book.

Tormyr Cousland

What did Lilith learn from touching the soul sphere in the source room? From that point, it seemed like her knowledge was complete and she just needed the power boost from the tear.

She got a much clearer picture of the future timelines and what is needed to succeed. But she didn’t suddenly know everything.

Tormyr Cousland

What would have happened if Eldor had succeeded.

I like to think that Lilith’s prediction is true and the explosion of the time suspension shield would have indeed destroyed the planet.

Tormyr Cousland

What was the truth about Trias? It felt like a Chekov’s Gun that was up on the mantle and then never used.

See my answer to Elegast’s answer above.

maravilla

What is up with trias. Hexwas mentionedxlikex3xtimes over the course of the comic, I always expected sth to come from it….

See my answer to Elegast’s answer above.

maravilla

When exactly lilith fiddledxwith time in oakdale and in what way.

In The Bipartite Mind #43 + #44. But I want to leave it open for interpretation how much of it was deliberate.

maravilla

Why malva had to stay home

Being able to see the vague outlines of future timelines, Lilith determined that taking Malva on their journey would doom them.

ktrimbach

Viviana hear her own voice at gravesite
Viviana’s vision of San and the TS.
Why did Viviana hear them talking

Visions of the future, magically teleported back in time. I want to leave it open to interpretation how much of it was done deliberately by Lilith and what was just a side effect of her time-related spells.

ktrimbach

Are we now in Trias?

We’re now in the third age, not Trias.

ktrimbach

Thinking about the destruction of Vis and the shadowkeep – why were they built. What was their purpose (other than being an obstacle course for their quest)

Eldor explains the purpose of the Shadowkeep in The Way Back Home #177. Kilian explains the purpose of Vis in The Door #32.

ktrimbach

Why did they need to be destroyed by Ultima?

This will be mentioned in the epilogue.

ktrimbach

Why is kill the word for Ilias.

See my answer to Tony5n’s question above.

ktrimbach

Were the Dwarves killed by Gaia because she couldn’t alter their memories?

No. The dwarves were wiped out after the Darkness.

ktrimbach

Is that also why the elves isolated them selves in the Mythal?

No.

ktrimbach

How was Eldor and his crew able to come and go so easily.?

Because Eldor was by far the most powerful wizard on Gaia. And he also knows a lot about protection spells.

ktrimbach

Where was the tower inthe sky built?

Lythia, the capital city of Ysdar.

Chronos

Presuming Sandril survives, I’d like to see what his and Ilias’ attitudes towards each other are now.

Sandril will be featured in the epilogue.

Headwind

Hm. Not necessarily for the Epilogue, maybe better for a Making Of Gaia.

Anything about the pre-history of Gaia as a gaming campaign, if I remember right for NWN?

That’s something for the making-of book.

Marteri

What happened to Fabius (and Salena)? Fabius was left to guard the door in the Shadowkeep and must have been attacked by Eldor. Did he survive?

Fabius survived and he will be briefly shown in the epilogue.

Me-me

Wouldn’t there be a massive schism between the state and the church if the queen of the planet starts telling people accepted scripture is wrong? (Saying Gaia causing the darkness, not Bhaal.)

Interesting point. But since San as High Priestess didn’t publicly denounce Viviana’s statements, who’s a much more popular public figure anyway, the opponents within the Church of Gaia would have a very hard time to gather significant support.

Unknown

Xuid

Was Trias real or a well-placed red herring? Based on the resolution of the story I’m expecting the latter.

See my answer to Elegast’s question. Trias wasn’t a red herring. It was simply meant as a funny episode.

Unknown

Xuid

What caused the “9 months before” hint? I think it was http://www.sandraandwoo.com/gaia/2021/02/25/the-bipartite-mind-043-044/ but it wasn’t that obvious.

It’s one of several occurrences influenced by Lilith’s future time spells, either deliberately or as side effects.

Plasmarift

What will Lili do now?

This will of course be shown in the epilogue.

Plasmarift

Will Malva and Ryn end up together?

Malva and Ryn will be featured in the epilogue.

Plasmarift

Why will Vivi be the last queen of Gaia? Will the kingdom be made into a democracy?

The chapter title is based on the dialog in panel 3 of The Last Queen of Gaia #14. There’s no deeper meaning beyond that.

Plasmarift

Will Sans get her statue?

Yes.

Plasmarift

What happened to that student who lied about Lilith in court because she rejected him?

He was arrested in The Way Back Home #115.

Plasmarift

What will Alissa, Ryn, and Sandril do now?

This will be shown in the epilogue, but not in great detail.

Plasmarift

How was Lilith able to stop time when the machine was activated?

She stopped time later, during The Bipartite Mind #43 + #44.

Plasmarift

Eldor said that the ritual wasn’t completed for the soul extraction. What about it wasn’t complete?

It was almost finished. But Eldor probably needed to a small last spell on it.

Plasmarift

Also, why then was it necessary to destroy the tree? Did it weaken the shield around the source?

Yes, Eldor said exactly that.

Plasmarift

Was Vivi and Lili being conceived on the same day significant? Vivi doesn’t seem too special.

See my answer to Deirdre Mundy’s question above.

Unknown

Xuid

How did Lili know about Bhaal’s true form when no one else did? Was it knowledge from absorbing the Tear of Gaia or something else?

Yes.

Unknown

Xuid

That seems related to Lili saying “I’ve had a lot of time to prepare my spell”. Was it a time loop? Infinite time while her soul was in the sphere? Infinite time in the part of her mind that was shielded?

Now how Kali says in The Bipartite Mind #34 that the Tear of Gaia is put into a temporal vibration. I will explain it in more detail in Gaia: sic mundus creatus est.

Michael

… but if Lilith only learned Niko’s Strict Order in the Spirit Source room, does that mean that she manipulated Eldor’s mind with a bluestream spell?

Yes.

Some

CreepyGuy

When the party meets Bhaal, they’re all standing on a flat ledge. However, after Lili casts the shield spell, in BPM 52, it looks like she is standing on some kind of platform. Is this platform part of the shield?

That’s just a graphical effect.

Some

CreepyGuy

In BPM 33, Kali is holding Lili’s staff. However in BPM 34, it’s gone. What happened to it? I see later she retrieves it out of “nowhere”.

Kali put it somewhere. He doesn’t want to fly around with that long stick which is much longer than he himself.

Some

CreepyGuy

At various times in the story, Eldor throws Devon, one of the Shadowdancers, and I think an elf into a hole to “somewhere” with apparently a monster in it. As this all seemed to be based on red magic, what happened when Lili cast Ultima? Were they freed, or disappeared, or what?

It’s best to consider them dead at this point.

Some

CreepyGuy

As for something I’d like to see, I would hope they would hold some sort of wake for the fallen, before the actual wedding. For San especially, but also Ryker, Collette, Ars, and others I’ve forgotten.

This will be part of the epilogue.

fj3k

If Lili was able to use the Tear of Gaia to remove Bhaal and all her minions, and the Tear of Gaia was created by Gaia; why couldn’t Gaia do something similar? Surely there wouldn’t have needed to be a huge war if that was the case.

Gaia needed Isaac. Bhaal needed Eldor. Both were obviously not omnipotent. Lilith said that she had a lot of time to prepare Ultima. That’s related to Kali saying in The Bipartite Mind #34 that the Tear of Gaia is put into a temporal vibration. I will explain this in more detail in Gaia: sic mundus creatus est.

Mad Marie

I hope in the epilogue there is a small seedling beginning to sprout in the spot where the great tree used to stand

I’m still unsure how the Great Tree should look like. I will have to think of something in the next weeks.

Pip

I personally was waiting for the whole Trias religion/cult thing to come back somehow (mainly from /The Tower In The Sky 032/), I was hoping to see it tied in in some way or be explained more? Not sure if it would fit in the epilogue at all but just throwing it out there

See my answer to Elegast’s question.

Tormyr Cousland

In response ToBeFree’s comment about the coloring error in the-door-18 since Novil did not see the coloring error: The section between Viviana’s shirt and shorts in panel 2 (and on other pages) has 3 gold/bronze stripes. In the non-panel where she throws the stone, only 2 of the stripes are gold, and the bottom one is the color of her shorts.

Now I see it.

I hope that in the Epilogue either Viviana bears the rainbow knife again, and either she openly wears the Avaril or Lilith openly wears the Avaril while Viviana wears the Twin Crystal — or the loss of the Avaril and maybe rainbow knife is acknowledged…

Viviana gave Lilith the Avaril as a gift. So if I anyone is wearing it, it’s Lilith. Viviana won’t be wearing the Twin Crystal.

Why is our little thief to be the last queen?

And whatever became of the dwarves?

Why was Viviana’s shadow realm so different from the others?

It wasn’t so different from the others. But Lilith wasn’t able to protect Viviana like the others since she lost the mental connection to her clone. Due to Viviana’s special soul, it was particularly tough. If Lilith only had to concentrate on Viviana’s realm, she would have likely succeeded. But she had to care about all the others at the same time too.

And San’s heroic sacrifice, was that the kind of action that was expected as her responsibility in her role as High Priestess of Golnar?

I’d say that it would be an expectation many people would have.

Lurker

Was there any chance of Eldor changing his plans, even if slightly, in way back home 183, if Sandril hadn’t barged in mid-conversation?

Good question! On first thought, it seems like a real possibility. But if so, Lilith’s master plan wouldn’t have been necessary. And that she set up Sandril to stab Eldor with Lightbringer is clear. So it feels safe to say that Viviana wouldn’t have succeeded in persuading Eldor to change his plans.

Novil, how’s Ryn feel about being predetermined by Lili to add “executioner” to his prison worker job description? Have they talked it out, or will they?

I don’t understand the question.

Eldor was having trouble opening the door for some time. How was he then able to open it a day after returning to Gaia? Ref http://www.sandraandwoo.com/gaia/2020/11/20/the-bipartite-mind-024/.

He was already close to opening it before. Getting used to his new body took some time.

Yes! MR. Novil, I want to see the future fate of all characters (weddings, babies, etc.)

I don’t think I’ll go much further into the future than the wedding.

Arky

The trouble is that it seems completely irrelevant whether Ilias works that out or not. He literally does nothing else for what little remains of the story. People were expecting “kill” to lead to something.

Eldor would have killed Ilias. That’s of course something that Lilith wanted to avoid.

I never understood Lily’s comment in Bipartite 38 when she says “This is the past, I’ve already cast my spell, the tower has already been vaporized”. What? Aren’t they in the tower as she says that? And what caused the time shift? And what’s the actual timeline then?

She refers to her spell cast in The Bipartite Mind #43 + #44 that also involves slowing down time at this moment.

lizzy

I also want to know how lili survived the attack on thered hall it is never explaned.

It was a test of her abilities by Eldor.

lizzy

from day one I thought sandril was kinda jerk at first but later on I liked him better. can you explain what happened to him better?

Sandril will be featured in the epilogue.

I’d really be interested to know what Olrik wrote to Gregory of Askaroth in TLQOG #1, and why he felt the need to commit suicide.

Olrik appointed Gregory as temporary ruler of Cania. He committed suicide because of his utter failure as king.
