- Sandra: Rejoice! Sandra I, empress and supreme ruler of Northia, has returned to her homeland!
- Sandra: Commoner! We command thee to bring joy and adventure into our life!
- Sandra: We’ve heard the President of the United States ought to be pretty jealous of our power.

I got two chuckles out of this one and a positive vibe. Good comic.
i think that this is a way to share with pets
i really like this one, it reminds me of my sister a bit sometimes she says nonsense stuff or sings songs of just one or a few words, like, cooking the eggs cooking the eggs cooooooookking the eeeeggggs. you get the idea. i like this webcomic the way it is the fact that you do talk about what you think and what is happening in the world is good and interesting i enjoy hearing your thoughts please keep things the way they are i like to see other peoples comments there hasnt been a comic strip here ididnt like 🙂
Bawww
wow. playing petend is fun
The Legend of Sandra: A Woo to the Past
@ DRKS : I would TOTALLY buy that game:D!
Ahh, lovely randomness, Woo is too cute! That’s it, I’m moving to Northia.
Now, all we need is for Sandra to marry a relative of Emperor Norton and we can establish a dynasty to ultimately overthrow the outdated and obsolete republican government and reinvigorate America!
another person named will? awsome.
and i compleatly agree with you. the comic is good and the auther should continue to create his/her views of the world.
Cute.
for once, this is rather innocent. it’s nice.
@RJF: America already had 2 monarcys ruling it before. one was the British (a side note, it looks like poor little ol’ P.M. G. Brown is about to be sent packing in upcoming elections. we won’t miss him) and the Kenneys. both of them did not end so well. how about she lead an invasion force and take over Burma instead?
It’s one of those comic trips that make me just giggle at the end and feel warm inside. Thank you!
Aww, isn’t that precious. 🙂
if she only knew we were all jealous of her power!
Ah to be a kid again with free time for that… 🙂
Their activity immediately brings to mind C&H.
Awesome artwork in the last panel!
I propose instead that she find a way to claim the title of (If I may indulge in dog latin) Imperator Cesar Romanus Pontifex Maximus Sandra.
Well, you can’t say she isn’t getting her agenda accomplished
That robe, crown, and scepter are perfect. She really looks imperial!
I’m getting the feeling this one would make more sense if I had a link to the news article that inspired it or something.
That wardrobe gets around.
we ought to be jealous sometimes to kids who have their own dominion during playtime 🙂
Just finished going through your archives and consider me hooked! <3
I can hear Obama now: “Aw man, why do they get all the fun? That’s it! Michelle, get the girls, we’re gonna hang out in the park today. Secret service guy, fetch me my grillin’ attire!”
“Right away, Mr. President!”
I just started reading this comic. Love it. Your writing has a heavy Watterson feel, with out being a rip off, to it, and the art is top notch. I’ve read through the entire archives in one night. When I get home from work, this is *so* getting bookmarked on my computer.
Sandra & Woo, touching my hearth since the death of Wil Eisner, Keep up the good work.
This was really inspiring, first time I tried to “understand” It but then I remembered that when kid, you dont need no understanding of things like this, That is why really we envy Sandra and Woo. We like them, we really do… No president has come close to that
Climbing trees FTW.
I suspect Calvin & Hobbes is one of the major inspirations for this comic. I can’t wait for there to be a downhill sledding comic.. (Or perhaps a game of Woo-Ball, where the rules are never the same?)
“…the President … ought to be pretty jealous of our power.”
Yeah, well…then again, he’s pretty jealous of ANY power he doesn’t have.
I have the power to command 3 cats and a dog *laughs evilly*
You have the power to command three cats and one dog. Maybe the dog actually listens.
While one cannot deny the general influence of Calvin and Hobbes I don’t think this particular strip would work as well if you’d take Calvin and Hobbes instead of Sandra and Woo. At least Hobbes would rather come up with a snarky remark or something.
Truly, one can not command a cat. If they do as you ask, they’re only humoring you.
Oh, my cats take commands alright. Then they push their luck with me anyway. Another sweet episode btw.
back to the jeans and sweater, then? 🙂
has she been away, or just first day back at school?
oh, and am I wierd for seeing that branch as the one that the totoro family and mei & satsuke kusakabe went fishing off of on the dvd cover?
ah, more CaHness
These cartoons aren’t particularly cool!
@ Jesse:
your boss better not get to see this post
I iz from USA…
XD
Ah yes… the Tethercat Principle at work.
Generic fruit-tree though it may be… due to the depiction of the climbing itself, it gives a sense of fun disproportionate to the actual fun of climbing an actual exceptionally small (and slanted) tree. That is to say one can assume that the fun part (which would actually last mere seconds at best) is now frozen in a continuous state where it is never actually not happening….. thus allowing for a sort of “d’awww!” reaction…
.
In reality… this would be less of an adventure and more of a… well… stepping onto a tree, then being in a tree (which isn’t as fun as climbing one, and only marginally more fun than being on the ground). And if they’d wanted the fruit, at least one branch is easier to reach from the ground. Maybe at a stretch we could assume they’re going up there to get a better view of fish in the river… but that is pushing it.
.
O’course, if it was in the middle of a forest, and the tree was a bit bigger, that would be a whole different matter. The term “squirreling” means something different to myself and my brothers than what it means to most folk (or scientologists for that matter): It was a term I coined for going up one tree and coming down another… necessarily by way of climbing over the branches from one tree to the next. Tougher than it sounds, since branches get weaker the further out they go. Now THAT was fun.
Then of course there was “slothing”… which involved hanging underneath a branch… often easier than sitting on top of it.
If only all rulers were simply that easy to please….
This strip is too cute. It actually became my favorite.

Command a Psycho Jungle Cat? No thanks I want to wake up in the morning 😉
President Theodore Roosevelt thinks you need to step up your game, Empress.
The empress and her subject need a little red wagon. Just trust me on this one.
