Hello, new readers! The story arc that contains most of the strips and images used for our current ad campaign started with this strip: Priorities.
We spent a lot of time creating this strip, so I decided to put it online a little earlier. The size of the original image is 11341 x 15687 pixel and my computer with 1.5 GByte RAM has troubles displaying it, let alone working on it. But there’s a good chance that we’ll publish the strip as a poster sometime in the future.
- Woo: Uh-oh.

I found the site, read all the stips, and now i get to comment first! out’a sight!
@ Tfeth282:
in one hour! Wow. What insomnia can do.
Graphic designers joke eh? I wonder how many will get the reference.
Let me guess, Powree is a graphic design student or graduate from one.
Raccoon, ruining composition since 19 December 2010
Mon drian! Some people (or animals) just can’t handle modern art…
Meanwhile, it could be helpful to not only vote once per day at TopWebComics, but also go to TheWebComicList once per day and go to Sandra and Woo from there. I’m not sure how exactly they rank the comics but it will probably help.

I love colored strips, it’s hard work I know so no prob, but still Woo looks great… even with the whole swimming in red and yellow… liquid I guess. XD
Mondrian, Mondrain!
Wouldn’t Red, Yellow, and Woo fit better than red, blue, and woo? Blue is closer to woo than yellow.
Additionally, your Mondrian Homage has a little mistake, the yellow box be full, each black-bordered rectangle should have just one color, perhaps add another line that shatters when woo hits it?
Lol, Piet Mondriaan. Very nicely done.

Piet Mondrian was a painter, not a graphics designer.

All Sandra and Woo strips are written by me. No exceptions so far.

That’s not correct. Have a look at the examples at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piet_Mondrian

Well sorry about that, I’m assuming that because my first year assignment in graphic design is to create compositions based on Piet Mondrian style, so I thought he’s a graphic designer also.
His compositions are excellent though, looks simple at first but when I’m trying to make one it’s hard to create a good balanced drawing.
yay dutch painter, mondrian w00t
Brilliant!!
(Concept AND hues)
…what? o_ô
*sigh* modern art. Regarding this I think I’m sharing Woo’s opinion ^^’
Like very much!
I’m another of the “came here today, read the entire archive” band. Seeing something this witty on the homepage sold me on the strip instantly. An animated version, centered on Woo as he struggles and falls, would make a great advertisment.
So I’ve finally caught up with the current updates! YAY!
I have to say your add campaign was everywhere I went so I had to eventually come here. I’m gald I did! The simple humor along with the occasional linked storylines and even a well done political cartoon now and then all blur together to become a complete and welcome whole to my webcomic rotation.
Thank you for your hard work, creative spirit, and different perspecitve to life that you bring to your comics. As a former comic creator myself I know how hard it is to run a webcomic and I hope you’re finding a way to make it as rewarding for you as possible!
YES kjnCatinthewall wrote:
you make no sense the title IS red blue and woo not red yellow woo then you said blue is closer to woo????? im confused……..

We wouldn’t spend so much on advertising if it weren’t economically reasonable to do so. So we make a profit AND get new readers. A win-win situation for us and for everybody else involved!
Hope that stuff isn’t toxic…
@ Kevin:
most likely if it was woo would not be in the last pannel instead it would show an Ambulance……
@ Someone:
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/d3/Q.png sadly THIS is modern art.
(i read the comment posting rules dont worry and i didnt link to the site i linked to the picture)
I love this one! Excellent pacing and very fun!
Now this is a spin on modern art I can get behind, The water flow and blending is really nice people like you make me wish I could Art.
Brilliant!
I vote for monthly cooning of fine art!
I feel stupid. I just found out that the text at the top of the page. The: “Sandra and Woo: a webcomic…” says something different everytime. And it seems there will be no new comic tonight. DIdn’t expect it but you can always hope…
@ bcool4ever:
meh i didnt expect one today and yet……
@ Mel:
cooning?i need a new dictionary…
Although I don’t get the reference in the slightest (If there even is one), I did find today’s strip to be highly amusing.
This is… strangely awesome.
That may well be the best comic I’ve read in at least a week. Awesome!
Best webcomic ever! JUST read all the posts and trust me it was NOT easy… 🙂
Wow, I had no idea modern art was so fragile. I really need to playing around in my Pollocks.
Seriously, though, this is absolutely magnificent. Right up there with the best Calvin & Hobbes Sunday strips.
That’s what I call “bad luck”.
Well, I know this is off-topic, but, my browser doesn’t show any ads in the box where woo has a sign saying “look”. I did remember to DISABLE my browser’s ad hunter feature, so that might be a flaw in the site design.
I used to click on those ads all the time, and they’re gone 😀
Oh my god! Pure Genious! Mondrian has to see this!
Well… if he weren’t… you know…
Of course, he believed in Heaven, so technically…. uh… there’s no way I can wiggle myself out of the awkwardness of what I said, is there?
Just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how great I think your comic is! Always well drawn and entertaining, and often inspired! Keep up the great work, and thank you for setting the bar so high for the rest of us!
Just stumbled across your comic from some random ad today! Read the whole archive! Just want to say that your strip is great! I’ll be anxiously awaiting updates from now on!
but… How did Woo get in there in the first place?
I absolutely love this strip. Great idea, really works 🙂
Nice post-modernist touch there, ’twas really fun to read. 😀
RACOON GET OUT OF ART
YOU DON’T BELONG THERE,
YOU CAN’T EVEN PAINT.
Well, it always seemed to me that modern art wasn’t really solid. ^^
Good lord, he broke abstract expressionism.
Okay, if you make a poster of this, I want one. You’ll probably get my email from this message somehow, so drop me a line if/when the posterization happens.
Now *THAT* is what I call surreal. 😀
I have deactivated the comment rating functionality temporarily since our webserver has reached the limits of its performance capability due to the high number of page views (2 page views per second at the moment!). The comment rating uses a significant amount of computing resources so it was the first feature to turn off.
Novil wrote:
Ummm….isnt that a good that a good thing? well of course that means no more most rated comments but that stinks.
Woo did not like the Composition did he.?
@ WebComic Fan:
i think he was making it more… alive
woot! a colored strip!! i giggled after reading this comic strip. Woo looks really cute~ I really like how you played with the colors CMYK. *winks*
Ahh, very nice! I’ve just found your comic… Was it today? I believe it was. (Recently, things have been hectic, so excuse the scatterbrained. >-<)
Any case, I finished wading through the archives, and this is an excellent strip to catch up to current with. Love the stories so far.
Wow, Mondrians are fragile. This never would have happened on a Bridget Riley – she has mathematics on her side. Just as well we learned how to engineer decent panel borders before the webcomic era began, otherwise the fourth wall would end up breaking on its own! >:=)>
Now THAT, is clever.
This is definitely the best Sandra and Woo for a while. I keep browsing back and smiling.
