The current story arc started with this strip: A New Adventure.
I changed the dialog of the last strip since I was unhappy with the previous version.
Have you already read the blog post about our Sandra and Woo fanart contest? The winner will receive $100, and the four runner-ups will receive another $100!
- Cloud: The eagle is flying towards a quarry near the hills. I’m sure that’s where its nest is.
- Sandra: ….
- Larisa: Don’t worry, Sandy. Raccoons are tough! Woo’ll beat the feathers off that bird!
|
That’s right. Woo’ll beat the feathers outta that bird, then tame it and ride it like a mount. No fridge will ever be safe again…
Okay, as a part-time teacher, I would want those kids to stay close to the arranged meeting place until help arrives. But as a pet owner…Go, Sandra! Let no power in the ‘verse stop you!
So cloud has the ability to leap trees
@ Slop Doggy:
Cue Lord of The Rings Soundtrack “The End Of All Thing” playing in the background.
Whoops forget the video link, Novil please merge this one with my previous one.

And here I was about to say that Cloud looked vaguely Legolas-like hopping through the trees.
Thinking about it, that has to be one really desperate bird to grab a fully-grown raccoon, especially when there are humans around.
@ Blitz:
That’s interesting, let say we can make a Sandra and Woo live action movie, we have two options here, first, we can look for a mixed race (Asian-Caucasian) bishonen man to play as adult Cloud, or we can take the shortcut and cast Orlando Bloom instead.
I agree; that’s very nice landscape work!
Bird must be hungry. Bald eagles tend to do a lot of fishing and scavenging; golden eagles are more likely hunt small animals. (I’m assuming that’s a bald eagle from the feather line around its neck. Hard to be sure in b&w. :-))
It’s not going to try to feed him to newly hatched babies, is it? Seen it before, and I think Woo is a bit much for them.
He’s also too big.
Larisa, I’m not so sure.
Having a pet is not about loving the animals,is about having a companion to despise nature. To hell with the eagle
@Marj Browncoats for life.
Anyway, not for nothing but aren’t they gonna be in some deep shit when Harvey finds that they’re not there or is that the least of their problems?
the shadow rules.
It’s great that Cloud has the awesome ability to climb trees so easily. What will they do when they get the eagle? I fear what will happen when they confront the eagle.
Why am I picturing Woo trying to talk himself out of this situation? They land and Woo and the Eagle start talking to each other, then Woo gets food for the eagle, who lets him go and they end up friends.
@Mega: Miku avatar?
Eagles prepare their food by dropping it on the rocks from huge heights. Woo has no chance to survive unless he learns to fly. Yeah I know – it is grim =D
Anyway, Woo, kick his ass!!!
From the look of it, all Woo would have to do is grab the bird by the neck and swing his foot into the bird’s beak/face. Then ride it to the ground and cusion his fall with it…
If it wasn’t because she literally threw her cell phone away, I’d say Larissa was reading the comments!
Once again, proof that cloud is a ninja.
I’m still thinking that this eagle looks very serious ^^’ and maybe bored.
I mean: look at him.
@ Gordon:
Well, his name is Cloud after all.
And yes, the double meaning is intentional ^^
@ Blitz:
Cloud: “This forrest is old… very old. Full of memories….. and anger. ”
Larisa: “ok… and who of us is Gimli?”
Sorry but….yeah

I wonder if Woo is enjoying his flight, aside from impending doom, is it a comfortable flight?
Can we please have a background of Cloud up in that tree? *in love with panel 2 8D*
“They’re Taking The Hobbit- sorry, I mean the Raccoon- to Isengard!”
hmmm I don’t know…but maybe…the eagle is someone’s pet…a hunter maybe……???
M0HAX wrote:
That’s what I figured. It wouldn’t want to take a live raccoon to its eaglets, that would be a good way to lose them. I guess Woo’s best move is to grab its legs and hold on tight.
The stripes on Cloud’s shirt are missing in the third panel.
But great strip. I hope Larisa is right. (and I hope we see the fight 😉 )
By the way the story is progressing I predict a literal “Cliff Hanger” in the next few strips.
As for oh so serious American Eagle – Kind of makes me think of Sam the Eagle from the Muppet Show.
Now on with some wild speculation on my part.
Begin Speculation/
Since the Eagle looks VERY serious you have to ask “Why Woo?” and not some smaller and more hapless meal? Well Woo was carrying a lunchbox and associating with humans at the time he was picked up. To the Eagle as an outside observer Woo would look like a likely candidate to “convince” to do something that the eagle could not do for itself. I do note that inter-species communication outside of Humans is quite good.
End Speculation/
I wonder if the eagle was just “saving” Woo from the scary humans?
“Finding who? Finding Woo!!” …don’t kill me. 🙁
Wow, this is one of the most prolific online comics I’ve actually enjoyed. I’m hooked.
@ Gordon:
Don’t you know? He recently equipped the climb materia he found.
@ Slop Doggy:
First comment I read and I chuckled to myself since I was actually able to imagine such a thing.
Cue epic trek into Mordor (cough … I mean quarry). And Harvey says (when he finds them gone) “nobody just walks into a quarry!”
Hopefully Woo won’t be Tough&Chewy 🙁
@ Kid of Death:
Why yes, that is Miku. I’m not sure whether your asking why or asking if that is her, but yes, I do have a Miku avatar.
@ AckAckAck:
O.O
@ Dracula Wolf:
Srry wrong comment…
Powree did an amazing job in the first panel.
So, I just started reading this strip last night. And I literally screamed when I caught up with the present.
Poor Woo! Maybe he’s a secret ninja coon?
@ MegaTJ:
I was mostly asking for confirmation. My friend recently got me into Vocaloid. I like Rin and Len, and Kaito.
Btw, were you doubting Woo’s awesomeness? Or just whether that bird will be featherless afterwards?
Ooh a quarry this should be fun
Great job on this webcomic. it is so funny. i just fond it yesterday, and just now i finished reading through your whole archive.
i will be looking for updates now
@ Kid of Death:
Eh, just that Woo has beaten up plenty of things in this comic, and Powree may give him a run for his money. I’m an author, and that’s what I would do.
Slop Doggy wrote:
That or the eagle needs someone to look after the “kids” while the mother is away in case they’ll get hungry… but no idea what Woo could do aboot tha… ouch I just had a bad feeling while saying this. XD
MrGBH wrote:
Same comment as before. XD
Woo would DESTROY that eagle if it came to a fight because Woo is ninja.
@ gaboris:
definite possibility.
I wonder if the Eagle has a mission other than fillet of bandit? Woo’s exploits have earned him a reputation among the forest creatures after all.
Well, if Woo doesn’t beat the feathers off that bird, I’m sure Larisa will burn them off instead.
@ MegaTJ:
That is a valid point. I still think they’re going to talk it out and somehow end up friends. No beating up this time.
