The current story arc started with this strip: A New Adventure.
- Caption: A couple of directions later.
- Blacky: Do you think you can find the way by yourself?
- Woo: I think so.
- Woo: Thank you for the directions. And for everything else.
- Blacky: You’re welcome.
- Woo: May you father many more sons and daughters in your life!
- Blacky: I will. Good luck, Woo!

I guess it’l take Woo precisely 5 steps to get hopelessly lost.
Creepy
I have GOT to start using that as my own personal valediction.
yes, let’s end this storyline quickly and forget the lack of drama and suspence I was so looking forward to after the absolutely brilliant and beautiful first half of the arch which passed its high point after woo was kidnapped.
I’m not saying I was expecting anything on par with 24 or trauma, I just think the story could have been paced or done better with more horse sense and less logic.
I thought Blacky and Woo’ll have a longer teamup, but this was still nice. 🙂
@ MrGBH:
5 steps? I’d say he’s already lost. XD
I love woo’s expression in the second panel. I think he’s got some bromance going on tharr.
Be careful Woo. Stay safe.
Hmmm… Guess my theory was wrong…
I liked that valediction. It seems weird in a human world (most of the time, anyways), but raccoons have different values and all, so I like seeing these little subtle differences. Maybe I’m just geeking out because my mom’s kinda an ethnographer and so I find these little differences cool.
Aw man, I was hoping we’d see more of Blacky… 🙁
Blacky’ll be back.
Just wait and see!
…Okay?
This was a lackluster arc right from the beginning. I think the artist could be producing longer strips to make it go faster instead of one strip bi-weekly which dont seem to have much of a punch. In all honesty i think Sandra and Woo reached it’s peak a long time ago and now it’s just getting less and less interesting. I know it’s difficult to keep coming up with gems after doing the story for so long but perhaps the artist should try and reach some ultimate ending, you dont want to end up like the simpsons. I will continue reading sandra and woo because i only takes a little time out of my day to check them but i hope my opinions will get respected.
@gordon, heh i think it’s a valid point, sometimes it appears similar to “Station V3” strips… except that station V3 is updated everyday eheheh (but unlikely here isnt meant for graphical quality), but yeah updating 3 times a week instead of 2 would be awesome.
but well… patience is an………… incredible boring thing 😛
@ Gordon. Honestly, I disagree with your statement that the comic had a lackluster beginning. The beginning was riveting and suspenseful, and I think the artists could rescue the story simply by having woo found, unconscious. However, I do agree that some comics that have been around for years , like Garfield, or the far side, do lose the spike in their punch. However, I think that is because the reader matures and the material does not. I think “For better or worse” is one of the better newspaper strips ever created. The characters are constantly changing developing or growing in cycles that mirror human development. No one’s behavior or personality remains the same forever, and there are times when people regress to an earlier stage of development. Which is why I dislike fatalists, their refusal to change their behavior, despite all the kicking and screaming, and knowing the cause of their problems, or knowing the outcome or effect their actions have on others or themselves, is more often than not the result of them getting stuck in an infantile state. They think poorly, they are reactionary, and refuse to take actions that would ultimately benefit themselves or others in the end.
Wow I love this comic, just started reading it today! cant wait for more!!!!!
Hey, I´ve just checked the first stripes and I noticed those were much more detailed than the current ones. Why was the character design so simplified?
I hope I´ve made myself clear, my English is not very good.
Coon hug! D’awwwww!
I wonder if we’ll be seeing Blacky again?
Next thing you’ll know it he finds a bear sleeping.
@ Maddy:
I’ve often wondered that myself. It’s perhaps because now the strips are in demand and have to be done quickly so to make it go faster the artist draws them with less detail.
heh, I just read this ENTIRE archive within 1 hour, it’s amazing (:
“I hope you father many more sons and daughters in your lifetime!”
“I will.”
I’m sorry but… “I will”? Is that his final answer? Confirmation of the sexy timez he’ll be having in the future? Ahm just sayin’.

Its a bit more meaningful to animals than it is perhaps to humans.
