[0283] Larisa Threw The First Stone
└ posted on Monday, 20 June 2011, by Novil
The current story arc started with this strip: A New Adventure.
- Woo: What… what happened to your nose?
- Copper: A weird stone fell from the sky and hit me.
- Woo: I know who threw that “stone”.
- Copper: You do?!
- Roq: Don’t believe a word, stupid! It’s a trick!
- Copper: Let him talk, Roq. With that leg he won’t even make it to the next tree–
- Roq: Raccoons are dishonest and deceitful beings. The faster you kill them, the better!
- Woo: A friend of my human threw it. And they’re close by! Better shove off before they show up!
Seems Larisa’s temper may have bought Woo some time.
This is a pretty dark story arc.
Oh, I see. Turning it into a “you and what army?” moment.
Smart.
… Okay, I’m missing something I think… was that ‘stone’ the cellphone Larissa threw a while back? and how could a little cellphone hurt a wolf?
@ FluffySama:
That “little cellphone” weighs around the same as a small or medium sized stone. Thrown with Larissa strength and falling from up so high, it’s going to hurt quite a bit. Good enough to cause a nasty bruise.
…Roq is kind of a douche
the only reason for that wolf being hit by that “rock” was………
cuz no one was there to teach him how to barrel roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(ok..gonna stop with the starfox jokes)
Based on the title of this strip, i feel like a second rock will be thrown to save the day
I feel sorry for Copper but would still kill if him he tries to eat Woo. Maybe I’m just stupid…
I can’t stop hearing, “Like a rock!” in my head D:
Gotta be fair here– attacking a fellow pack member is definitely not very wolf-like, even if they are the omega. Conflicts are resolved through displays and posturing, not through violence.
That being said, it looks like the story is moving towards Roq being a bad guy, and Copper being the hero who saves Woo in the end. I could be wrong, but that’s the impression I’m getting. In any case, I at least hope the wolves aren’t made out to be nothing but detestable villains.
The killer you’re looking for is already behind you… which rule was that again?
I was hoping that we would be meeting Flint.
(Insert MOTHER 3 joke here.)
A cell phone can do anything from ordering pizza to saving a racoon from death.
Woo uses BLUFF!!
Throw away your cellphone. Hurt / Save animals.
I love it when a plan comes together… especially when nobody realized they were setting it up in the first place!
First Stone?
Boulder coming?
And wasn’t larisa spelled with double s?
I am ‘hearing’ Roq speaking with a very deep, raspy voice.
“My Humans will save me.” – Hope these wolves didn’t somehow see that one movie about the Humans trapped on a ski lift. It was pretty one sided…
Roq is keeping his bitches in line! The son of a bitch… literally!
Yes..Yes eat him…Eat him NOW.
Sorry i#m just a wolf fan.
and with woo as the silly protagonist of this comic you just know there will come some comedy harm (or worse some hunter)to the poor wolf’s even thought they just follow natural order. which is funny when i think about it.
because as i recall in one of the earlyer strips Woo and Shadow were talking about how it is that the poor predator always lose in a silly way in cartonns, while there were eating innocent mice.ah yes now i remember it was strip number 106: Woo’s nightmare.
Normally i really like woo and the comic, love at even. just don’t like it when some poor wolfs are harmed -.-
Okay Larisa has the power of a pyromaniac and that Cloud has the power of video games… and below the belt attacks and Sandra is… Sandra, but I’m not too sure Woo thought this one over. 😛
I wondered if we would ever find out what happened to that cell phone. Way to go Larisa.
And our phone-throwing record returns with a vengeance. Great comic, keep it up 😀
Wait, when the cell phone hit a wolf made that savage noise I thought she hit a bear or mountain lion not a wolf.
Racoons are dishonest and deceitful beings… Hey, if offered the opportunity to become lunch, I’d be dishonest and deceitful too!
As depicted a few comics ago,
Larissa’s Cell Phone Toss has done 96 damage!
[Copper] is enraged!
Roq reminds me of this A-hole dog that my next door neighbors own.
It keeps attacking the other dog they own.
I’m now hoping Roq gets shot.
Copper attacks *noise of dice rolling. Dice lands on 1* Copper bit himself.
Win. Love the pun on ‘called it’ involving bludgeoning damage with a cellphone.
Has anyone noticed that Roq literally has Snake Eyes?
@ Blitz:
Woo is prevaricating.W oo would actually have no way of knowing for sure that the two incidents (throwing the cell phone/ wolf gets hit in nose) were related unless he witnessed it or there was a scent marker. However, I suspect woo is good at constructing narratives from limited information. I could still argue the wolves presence following the book of the dead model as well. Wrathful deities could just as easily describe the wolves appearance. the hunter/crazy old man could represent the god of eternal life…. of course this would require one to think in the universal truth sense that all men are created in god’s image.
Lol look at all the furries/ wolf lovers going nuts over a cartoon wolf getting bit =p tsk tsk now is that really effecting you to the much or hurting your emotions?
ANYWAY i have been reading for a while. but i have not made an account until now. I wonder how woo will get out of this one. Maybe larisa will will throw a boulder randomly in their direction….
And the plot thicken!
Why do i suspect the next episode will be called Sandra threw the last stone! Because if it wont i will be disappointed. I mean Woo is kinda done for if Sandra and company or the bad hunter dont show up.
Yeah! Woo used Bluff! The wild Roq became confused! Roq hurt Copper in his confusion!
“my human?”
Also, love the camera angle of the last panel
@ Frank:
You too? Man, small world, eh?
Mostly I wish there wasn’t an EDF ad on the site.
Well, if his human friends trowed it, than cloud will need to have a battle again 2 wolfs, I hear that wolfs are popular enemys in final fantasy games.
Anyway it is best if he is just blufing, because if his human friends would realy show up, 3 kids woould share racoon fate ( 2 Wolfs + 3 children + 1 racoon = alot of eating ).
Cloud just not have enoght experience to beat 2 wolfs yet.
@ Strife:
Most Alpha males are (Arnold ring a bell?) because they don’t have to be “nice guys”.
@ JA_of_MN:
Black Eyes of Evil!
@ Wolfen:
You know, Woo isn’t very raccoon like either, and a wolf pack will fight when it comes to trying to win dominance as alpha. Even if this is not the case, it still happens. The animals in this comic are given human attributes and will act more out of free will rather than natural instinct…you know, if you haven’t read this comic from beginning to end you would have probably known that by now.@ Wolfen:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
…I read the entire archive :'(
Ah! the CellPhone! that was off battery!
Has anyone else noticed this is the same wolf that chased after Shadow and Cid? I wonder if that has any importance! : D
@ Adol1004:
is that anything like being out of juice?
@ Marius:
honestly i’m half hoping for the title to be “… and the last”
Roq:” Raccoons are dishonest and deceitful beings. The faster you kill them, the better!”
Says the unstable, overly-aggressive communist wolf
For some reason I forsee Copper becoming a new friend of Woo’s…he is just drawn so differently than the other wolf and looks more friendly(which I’m sure was the point)…do I sense a human-raised wolf set free? Hmmm?? Love the comic! Been reading for awhile but never commented before (I don’t think) Keep up the great work! Can’t wait to read more! ^_^
