Your comics have really been degrading lately. This same plot has been used countless times before. Go ahead and dislike this, but you know it’s true.
I’ll tell ya one thing. I could see someone looking at this from a distance and uttering something like the following.
“Yup, that’s Ye Thuza’s kid alright.”
@ WolfieMario:
Even in good writing, Symbolism Trumps Realism.
In EXCEPTIONALLY good writing, Symbolism and Realism are exactly the same thing.
In ALL my life I never NEVER SEEN A KID HOLD THREATS OF LIFE AND DEATH to a wolf
@ ZZaCCKK:
A “false move” is defined as being unwise or reckless. Much like “don’t try anything funny”, you’re letting them know that any mistake could have serious consequences for them.
@ Gabrielsthoughts:
Mine’s not.
Had it for almost a year now, and it can still cut a finger off if you aren’t careful.
Though i think it does need some sharpening soon. never know what’ll happen.
Sandra has great taste in “men”. ♥ Cloud is awesome. 🙂
@ brett:
Actually the odds of there being more than one talking animal on their world is actually pretty good if even one exists.
@ Random:
Actually, I don’t think they’re scars, I think they’re new wounds from his short scrap with Woo.
@ ZZaCCKK:
A false move is just one that would be threatening or poor judgment in a fight.

Well, FWIW, my son is half Thai and half whatever-it-is-I-am (English, Swedish, Mexican, Apache), and how he looks very often depends on what day it is; sometimes he looks very Asian indeed; other days he looks as pure as the driven snow; other days he looks totally Hispanic.
@ Random:
thats were cloud hit him in the face with the phone
@ Doodleydoowop:
You were kinda right, Most burmese people have tan or darker skin (I am mostly chinese). Ye thuza could be part chinese or other burmese ethnic group (like Shan).
GAME OVER YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Wolves are about six feet nose to butt, plus tail. They’re bigger than Cloud by a whole lot. Roq is husky-sized, not wolf-sized.
I move for “The Matrix” to be added as a tag on this one ^^
This Cloud is much more badass than the one in FF7.
A real wolf would have
A) been larger
B) strong enough to lift a human child
C) Jumped and bit him mid air
Cloud just got epic. >:D
If anything, this is probably one of Cloud’s most epic moments yet! 😀 Way to go, Cloud 🙂
this is my favorite comic in the whole archive. and this is in october 2012
I don’t generally comment on old strips when reading through an archive but I had to say how much I love Cloud for not just slitting the wolf’s throat. He’s such an awesome kid. My husband and I probably can’t have children, but if by some miracle we do, FF names have always been high on the possible names, and Cloud’s in the top 3. So, I feel a special kinship with his family because of that, as well. I’ve never had to suffer the insane atrocities his mother faced, but I did grow up tougher than most kids because of a severely dysfunctional and abusive family life. So, all the way around, I really, really relate to them. And if it says anything, I’m listening to the Distant Worlds concert CD’s as I read. See? FF. Addict. (I beat #1 at 3 years old. Lifelong addiction here, folks. Don’t judge me.)
Wait, is Cloud trying to threaten a wolf?

Actually, the main character in Mirror’s Edge is named Faith, not Fate.
Yep, parkour rocks.
*Facepalm*
Oh sure Cloud… pin the wolf and then… try to negotiate with it?
Stupid brat. You can’t negotitate with it if it doesn’t understand your language. You’re just giving an opportunity for escape or retaliation!

Cloud just leapt up my Badass rankings to join Desmond Miles, Dave Strider, and Link.

He’s talking like the wolf can understand him because they can understand, certainly the tone, if not the words. And what’s he going to try? Cloud’s got his weight pinning his body down, his hand holding his mouth closed and pinning it to the ground. he’s about as helpless as can be, and if he struggles Cloud has the knife right there. And you’d better believe animals know what a knife is. Even a wolf as confident as Roq should know enough to submit under the circumstances, and animals driven off once aren’t usually keen on coming back for another try.
Cloud: “One false move…and I’m going to whittle you to death.”

Pfft, Chuck Norris has nothing on a ninja. Seriously. What’s with everyone thinking Chuck Norris is so great anyway? His martial arts skills aren’t really that impressive, he only does western style martial arts.

HAHAHAHA I had a spit take when I read this!
Looks like he’s into the sport of knife hunting.
That is the wrong way to kill A wolf (unless you’re karate or kung fu super master)
Here’s how a normal person can do it.

you hear that? that’s the sound of all the girls splooshing at the sight of Cloud being badass
On the next episode of CLOUD FIGHTS A FUCKING WOLF.
