- Richard: How was the trip?
- Sandra: First it was the worst of times, but then it was the best of times.
- Richard: Can you elaborate on that?
- Sandra: Uhm, … no?
- Richard: No?
- Sandra: No. But don’t worry, all involved parties agreed not to sue each other.

I’d hate to see Roq’s lawyer.
Judging by his face, this has happened before….
And I LOVE Sandra’s face in pannel 2.
As always, Sandra and Woo’s quality is rock solid.
@ DasJepix:
*roq solid.
…Why does it have those tags?
” a tale of two cities, charles dickens, richard”
Time to worry
@ Yixin:
*face palm* Literature Fail!
Sandra was paraphrasing the opening line of A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens.
Richard is Sandra’s dad.
So, this is all over. But i don’t see what makes it a “very important storyline” as from the subtext of the first part.
@ Tfeth282:
You mean the fact that Novil had been planning this arc since the comic’s inception isn’t enough?
So like, did we just leave Harvey in the woods? Is he still there?
LOL!!! SANDRA’S FACE ON SECOND PANEL IS PRICELESS!!!!!
if this is Richard’s Reaction..can’t wait to see Larissa’s mom reaction!!!
The faces in this strip just make me curl from lauther (can you even say that in english? oh well, I just did ^^)
Sceptical, “roll-eyes thinking(?!)”, ^_^,
and epic facepalm, Richard. the captain would be proud!
Well, it’s hard to sue hanging from a tree…
That I don’t get the charles dickens one reminds me that I should read more literature…
Curse you, not working education system! Curse you!
… well, it never really worked, so… -_-
I came dangerously close to laughing out loud at that “completely innocent” face.
When sandra said “….the best of times” it reminds me of Sage Francis’ song “The best of times”
While Sandra and Woo is a happy story, this song is kinda gloomy, but it similar as it’s telling the experience of their younger self. It was the time they were grow up, learning life experiences all the way.
Growing pain.
It’s the best of times, but it’s not the end of times.
The song:

along witrh the dickens reference (showing my age) i also thought of a recording called “the best of times”, but this one was by styx (once again, showing my age)
-This- strip was the perfect opener to this whole story arc. (With possible exception of saying that Woo survived.) It just has that opening catch mystery that migrates into a flashback.
Smart distraction lie. Your Cloud priveleges were at risk. And that’s ignoring the whole arc, practiclly! Adventure time can be talked about later.
I feel like I’ll have this comment so “low degree” that even slimefish’s one from the previous cap will be more relevant than mine. But oh well. No offense intending to the Sandra & Woo fans, Novil and/or Powree, but I have to “say”.

I felt the same.
I mean, c’mon! I DO admit, the arc have a nice development with the trip going wrong and going “deeper” with the characters (Like Larisa unable to do fire in “heavy rain” or Cloud’s “Mirror’s Edge” moment of awesome), but them Could defeat Roq and… That’s it folks! ¬¬
From cap. 289, things seemed mixed out FOR ME, KILLEROH (Yeah, CAPS LOCK and bold so everyone will understand once for all that it’s MY opinion, and not some sh*t like Slimecat’s bad commented post in the previous in cap 292, nor a way to “change” or “question” everyone else’s opinion), yet still acceptable – Larisa’s behavior just allow everything to be acceptable, no matter how random it is, IN MY HONEST OPINION.
… But from cap 292, it became DAMN RUSHED that I, KILLEROH, had to “say”: WHAT THE F*** IS HAPPENING!?!?!?
IndigoRei wrote:
For me, that was (and is, and will be) far from enough… until cap 290.
cap 291 seemed “fanservicing” and from 292, seemed rushed FOR ME, KILLEROH
@ Everyone (And I mean E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E): No, seriously. I was expecting far more from this arc, like Roq’s revenge or more development from either the Hunter or all the another “support” characters (Harvey and Blacky). Not that this one was THAT bad, but it could be trully better. And no, the way this issue “looks”, I see not much reason to wait this arc to be finished to change MY OPINION… Unless something TRULLY UNEXPECTABLE should happen.
Whatever happened to Harvey, and who was he anyway? Was he a cousin, a brother, family friend, what?
… And then, I read this:
jup-reindeer wrote:
If that’s the true idea, so I CAN accept that and truly wait for more! o/
Seems more like something Larissa would say lol.
Speaking of whom… I hope she’s still not hanging from that tree…
KillerOh wrote:
to continue this train of thought, the rushed exit from the woods could just have been setup for the storytelling of what happened to come as sandra begins to explain it,
“Uhm, … no?”
Sandra is the cutest girl ever. It is really rare for me to have the main character as my favorite character in the story.
Woo! Wallpapers!
‘Involved parties’ Let’s see: Those capable of sueing: Larissa for being tied to a tree, the lumberjack for the shot to the gnads, one crazy hunter and Harvey for being abandoned.
heh yeah, i wouldnt worry with what was behind, specially since this is “homecoming I”… so maybe it was rushed to that part, for explanations to happen there, or maybe it will just show the other families reactions, who knows 😛
Funny… usually art styles progressively get better throughout the duration of a webcomic. Yours seems to be doing the exact opposite.
@ JA_of_MN:
I’m pretty sure he was camp counselor or a school trip guide/chaperone. I don’t remember the circumstances for which they were on this trip to begin with.
@ Kia:
If you don’t like it, don’t fucking read it.
And now..
Don’t tell me they left Harvey behind! D:
… And unlike my previous statement, my post wasn’t negated yet. I stand correct no more! =P~
Not that shee looks to explain everything, but I’ll wait for more.
Also, after “The sleeping” sample shown in this page, I could think about “sleep breaking” – If you know what I mean! =3

Then look “Evil Diva” (No, I’m not a spammer. A can of SPAM at very least!). For me, the “updated manga-like” style from Issue 7 onwards simply “f*ck3d” the cartoonish style from issues 1-6.
Also, why do you say that?
For me, the design (Simplified “manga-like-for-cartoon” style – Or, at least, what I think. I believe I won’t be sued for someone due to this! =P~) remains the same, at least. But if you say that because Sandra seems taller than lots of previous issues, well… They’re growing, ya know. =3
Well, it was hardly anyone’s fault that any of this happened! Just a string of bad incidents with no particular person to blame. Of course they’re going to blame the kids for running off when they were told to stay put, but then there wouldn’t have been enough of Woo left to make a hat out of.
Hmm, I’d rather have Truths and Lies as just the silhouettes as a vinyl decal or repositionable wall-art decal.
Wait, when were possible lawsuits involved?
Also, I agree with Wolfen in that this is something I’d expect from Larissa.
It’s always good to not involve the lawyers, especially with the many happenings during this story arc. All I can say to Richard is “ignorance is bliss”. It’s best to NOT know what happened and be happy everyone is alive and no one is suing anyone.
BTW, did they retrieved the cell phones (Larissa’s and Cloud’s)? Besides the phones, the only casualities seems to be the construction worker’s balls, the hunter’s marbles, Roq’s pride, and Sandra’s first kiss.
HAHAHA love her eyes in the second panel, it’s perfect!
@ Dazkey69:
Sandra’s second* kiss. She kissed Woo in her sleep once in an earlier strip :p
No lawsuits? That’s a new one.
@ WolfieMario:
Hmm, that’s right. Okay, Sandra’s first kiss with a human….but then again, can Larissa be considered a demon thus voiding this as a possible casualty?
@ Tfeth282:
My guess is that it’ll add a whole chunk of new personality to Woo. Perhaps, even strengthen several bonds and add emotional baggage between characters. (All of which will probably have repercussions in future panels.) But, that’s just a guess.
Sandra mixed up the order… 🙁
FIRST you do a GOOD innocent face, THEN you do a BAD innocent face when they’re no longer looking! >.<
what the!?!?
several pages ago they kissed.
Tom cant get Jerry. The Coyote cant get the road runner, Charlie Brown cant kick the foot ball.
where’s it going to go from here?
Woohoo! I finally got here! Read through all the strips over the past few days, and it feels both good and a little sad that I finally got to the present. Sad, because I won’t be able to just go online and read 30-some of your strips when I feel like. From now on, I’ll have to wait until the next one comes out. And rest assured, I’ll be waiting eagerly 😉
JA_of_MN wrote:
Harvey’s probably still out in the woods looking for them XD
And I think he was their camp counselor or something like that.
@ hi pplz!:
I doubt that he was left in the woods, but I’m confused about him because he just sort of appeared and it wasn’t really explained who he is or why he’s there. That’s a little bit of a problem with this comic, (not to criticize), there sometimes is little to no exposition. Its not as bad as some comics, () but it at least has context to go by and it allows you to piece the rest together in your head.
The bad example, I don’t know how to do links that well
Its the ‘Warrior #1’ review by the SpoonyOne.
@ IndigoRei:
No, it’s just that i was expecting some HUGE story movement. Well, Cloud and Sandra are now officially together, but Novil said that this was back when Cloud and Larissa were generic schoolmates, so I don’t think that was what was intended. I’m not saying it wasn’t good, I was just a little disappointed on the whole “very important” side.
@ jup-reindeer:
Didn’t see much of Woo’s personality. In fact, i think he seemed more bland than usual.
@ Caenwyr:
Yea, it’s kinda slow after reading through all the strips. Worth it though.
@ JA_of_MN:
He was a chaperone of some sort. And Larissa was not allowed to touch him inappropriately. That was about it.
Novil, are you, by any chance, what is commonly referred to as a ‘Brony’? If so, *brohoof*, because I loved the 20% Cooler reference on the top of the page.
Boring, patted-out arc was boring.
Sue me for being a fan and not a fan-boy.
