[0330] The Revolution…

… had a bogey on the last hole.
- Ye Thuza: Millions in the Western world have given their life in the fight for freedom. And now their children use it to elect sleazy politicians who take it away again for the stupidest reasons imaginable.
- Ye Thuza: What’s the point of a plasma TV when there’s only government propaganda on every channel?
- Cloud: The words of a true revolutionary…
- Cloud: … who, though, would be even more credible if she weren’t playing golf with sheriff O’Sullivan at the same time.
- Ye Thuza: Nothing is more satisfying than beating a cop.
- Nigel O’Sullivan: I’m 2 up, right?
@ Landbark:
Depends on what she’s going to do *with* the golf club 😉 😛
What is it with Revolutionists and Berets?
“Nothing more satisfying than beating a cop.”
Truer words have never been said. And quite in-character for a rebel like Ye Thuza. Maybe she’ll “bend” a few golf rules during the game.
@ gamerjoel135:
They’re awesome. That is all.
american television doesn’t have much propaganda…
It is also often void of useful knowledge.
Deep Meaning, and a punchline.
Sandra and Woo in a nutshell.
@ ekimmak: as well as the rest of them!
@ OrphanDidgeridoo:
It is because Ye Theza was a rebel who is in Chaotic Good alignment!
One persons propaganda is another persons way of life.
That’s why I only watch My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
@ Frank:
Yeah, I was thinking of the comic as a whole.
The point of TV is the Discovery channel. The world would be a better place run by those people.
@ Crestlinger:
Though, I shudder to think what might happen if the Mythbusters took over… actually, that’d be fun. Dangerous, but fun.
If my whacky conspiracy theory holds true, the only government officials that are actually elected by civilians stop at the state level. Popular vote is a joke, and presidential elections are decided long before the actual voting takes place.
I’m guessing Cloud’s mom isn’t into passive resistance. Only a competitive, rebel without a cause, would find satisfaction in overcoming a civilian level government official.
@ OrphanDidgeridoo:
Yeah. It has censorship instead 😀
…their lives***
Then don’t watch the news. There, I solved your problem. Now, back to Buffy and Ponies!
All I have to say is….
Noveli, you know real polotics! That was a perfect vague outline of current events AND you managed to capture the attitude of the normal person who does understand by having them play golf with part of the problem (though in reality it often isn’t the sherif, them being more of a symptom… But still!)
My respect four you has just jumped from eight to ten (on a one to ten scale).
Lol, american TV isn’t full of propaganda, its just full of shit.
Actually it is propaganda, have you ever watched fox news… I am not going to elaborate any further so there is no politics war on this forum.
*sorry, just realized how that post sounded, I wasn’t assuming that would start one. I was just being careful. Just to clarify.
I’m just waiting for her to go all Tiger Woods wife on his buttocks!
@Landbark I’m shocked and appalled that you think she’d use a katana for this situation!
Clearly this calls for a dha. It’s better for a tee shot.
@ Morcac:
I know what you mean. Propaganda is everywhere.
Republicans aren’t bad people, and neither are Democrats. It just so happens that the stupidest of these two groups are often the loudest, and quite easily become the face of the party. My primary example would be Sarah Palin.
@ Fauxlosopher:
Well that is somewhat true, but they do all to some degree serve the rich (or the 1% if you have been following the occupy Walstreet movement. Really the problem is like with the French revolution, you can’t tell who is really supporting the aristocracy, and who has simply been fooled by the propaganda. All we do know is that the corporations run our government, and that is what definately has to go.
When I went to Vietnam, I thought it was for America’s freedom. After doing my part to help murder millions and giving it great thought, I didn’t think so any more. The only war that I see in US history that was a net for freedom was the Civil War. No US war in my life gave anyone freedom. Panama, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Nicaragua, el Salvador, Honduras, Columbia, Grenada, Lebanon, Yemen, Somalia, Cambodia, Laos, Libya, Iran, … The two great wars of the 20th Century reinforced the European/US rule of the third world. If we want to honor those who gave freedom to Americans, we need to look to the union organizers, Suffragettes, the civil rights workers, the antiwar activists that brought the Bill of Rights into reality for those not rich, white and male.
A true revolutionary. lolz
@ Thomas Baxter:
I have immense respect for you… This comic and the following thread have brought back my hope in the world.
Something about the grip on the golf clubs in the last panel looks wrong to me.
Plasma TV… are we talking about Argentina here? They kind of did that. And they’re “giving away” netbooks to kids who graduate from highschool. (with the money that was taken from the subsides (or however you call it) of the gas, light, water and other companies).
@ Roborat:
That’s because she looks like she’s getting ready to “beat” a cop with her club.
Does she even count as a revolutionary if Burma is no longer a country in the same sense that Pluto isn’t a real planet?
@ Slimecat The Awesome one:
Even though burmese is democracy rule (said by the government), the “lion party” is still the old military government! Their parliamentary government have kept them in power (Majority members are lions.
2 up on HER? I dunno, I see her as a pretty badass golfer. Whaddaya wanna bet Sheriff O’Sullivan gets more than a little work out of his foot wedge? 🙂
@ Morcac:
Just Fox? Try any news station. Doom, gloom, and spin, all of it.
@ Meem:
Well yeah, but fox is the most obvious. I don’t watch much tv news because it is so much shit, but I watch fox for a laugh… THough sometimes it is depressing that people buy the stuff they spew out.
To me, this is classic!
Besides politics, BEATING a cop a golf!
Love the pun!!!
What gets me is the low percentage of people who vote. All right, I accept that yes, it can and does seem pointless, but come on! Half of the eligible voters can’t be bothered to do so? It’s an hour at most every few years! Come on, at least go and vote out of respect for what it took to get the vote in the first place!
@ demarion:
Agreed, more people want political change than you’d think, but the propaganda on TV makes it seem hopeless, and that everyone else is very far to the right. But that is not true. I will not be voting for either of the two major parties thank you very much. And hopefully someday we will have other voting outside of the two party system.
LOL this is the way to “beat” a cop At games hehehe
Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but why shouldn’t a revolutionary (from another country) be able to enjoy a game of golf with a police officer? What does the sheriff have to do with propaganda? Am I supposed to not trust the sheriff just because he keeps law and order? Does she believe in stereotypes? I’m sorry, but I am genuinely lost here.
This comic reminded me of Ozy and Millie and now it’s turning into Raine Dog.
@ Meem:
If you want propaganda, watch the news. If you want news, watch the comedians.
@ Kyren:
I wish I could double like. So true.
The problem isn’t that good people have decided to elect bad politicians, it’s that good people haven’t decided to become good politicians to force out the bad.
anyone notice the MISTAKE? IN THE 3RD PANNEL CLOUDS SHIRT IS BLACK
@ lila123321:
I saw it, I just didn’t think it was important/
@ K. Ivan Ruppert:
There are a fair few good poloticians, but they never get anywhere because the rich control the media.
For the western world is a funny game, we have the same amount of tyrants and freedom fighters
@ OrphanDidgeridoo:
No propaganda? I beg to differ.
You just have to know where to look for the good stuff. Also, anime. @ alexander:
@ OrphanDidgeridoo:
My, my. Not paying much attention, are we?
