Am I the only one for whom the pictures have black on one side, or white on both, or something, where the picture should just end at it’s normal size? Because otherwise, I’d be using one of these by now.

Most OSes have a option for using wallpapers of the incorrect proportion where they center the picture and size it as large as possible without losing part of the image. This will create the ‘black bars’ you seek.
There is also often a option to extend the picture far enough so that there are no bars but data is lost, this is not always a good option, depending on the picture.
@ Darkstand:
What I mean, Darkstand, is that the picture itself (the actual image I see when I click on it from this website) has those borders on it ALREADY. If I just had the base image, it wouldn’t be such an issue. Maybe there’s something wrong with my compy. o_o
