Comic lettering guide
Some time ago, I wrote a lettering guide for Sandra and Woo and Gaia. It is a collection of various tips for better lettering and was meant for internal use, but I figured other cartoonists might also be interested in it. So here it is:
Might I give you a suggestion? Instead of Blambot fonts, check the ComiCraft ones. They seems to have a very nice kerning and require very very few adjusts to use them.
The downside is that their fonts are expensive as hell, so you may want to download a pirated version or something just to see how it works for you (*cough cough* AstroCity Intl *cough cough*). But I bet these will save a lot of trouble with adjusting and tweaking up, therefore being worth the investment of $100, $150 they ask for them.
wow, thx!!!
This is a great guide. I’ve haven’t been putting as much attention into my lettering as I should be and this gives me more drive to do so, along with the advice from Willie Schubert.
Oh no… OH NO!!! It finally happened! OH GODS NO!
I finally caught up to the comic and my need for more… it’s growing ._.
I absolutely love this comic and I only wish I knew about it earlier 😀
