[0559] Lies Climb 9d Routes

- Butterfly: When you talked with Woo about me–
- Seeoahtlahmakaskay: I’ve never talked with Woo about you.
- Butterfly: You didn’t?! That dirty liar even made me believe a few masked ones didn’t fall to their death because they learned how to do one of my tricks!
- Butterfly: He told all those lies just to… just to…
- Butterfly: … give me confidence again.
- Seeoahtlahmakaskay: Your inverted paw bridge saved at least 15 lives last year, my little Butterfly.
BUTTERFLY FAN CLUB UNITE!
Now, Butterfly doesn’t know whether to hug him or strangle him.
This reminds me (for some reason) a couple of weeks ago there was a picture below the comic of a rock/mountain/something, and asked people to guess how tall it was. Did we ever get an answer for that? I’ve looked back over the last couple comics and I can’t seem to find it.
LOL Now now, he wasn’t completely lying after all.
What have Sandra and Richard been doing all this time?
Everyone carries a camera-phone these days.
A video of 58,612 raccoons facing upwards and applauding ought to be worth a good deal to a newspaper.
A shot of a genuine goddess would be priceless!
Incidentally, does the general raccoon population know that Woo has spilled their big secret (animals are intelligent) to a human? Maybe no one else can speak to humans, but Sandra knows Woo can talk to Lily, Shadow, and others. And word must have been passed (through the grapevine?) all the way to Canada.
If this is supposed to be classified, will Woo suffer retaliation? Or are Friends of Seeoahtlahmakaskay beyond reproach?
@Izumi She’s gonna hug him AND strangle him.
@ Spike:
Great, that means both Butterfly AND Lily are gonna kill him.
Butterfly is just so adorable.
Good guy Woo.
Can’t even be mad at him when he lies to you!
Also, Seeoahtlahmakaskay sucks at backing up lies.
My heart is melting.
Literally. It’s liquefying. I’m in the hospital right now.
ARE WE DONE WITH THIS STORYLINE YETT!!!!????!?!?!?!
@ Deepbluediver:
We did! Click “Home” on the tabs at the top, and scroll down. ;D
Plot twist: she’s lying too.
I find it funny that almost all of Woo’s lies turned out to be true. I do wonder about the fanart though…
@ Izumi Ryu:
They aren’t mutually exclusive.
“…my little Butterfly.” LOL!

Butterfly will hug Woo, to death! 🙂
Little raccoon lies don’t hurt that much eh, Butterfly? Just go down and give Woo a crushing hug.
@Neutrino
From what I understand, certain animals, or at least raccoons, have the ability to learn human English just like any person could while, as shown in Reliable Sources, some seem to choose to speak “raccoonish” to one another. My guess would be that this is the same for pretty much all animals. Also, I’m guessing Sandra would have been very careful about telling Richard where to go to drop Woo off, because thousands of cheering raccoons might drive him over the edge. ; )
“He who lies artistically treads closer to the truth than even he knows” – The Grey Mouser, iirc
I completely expected Seeoahtlahmakaskay(copy-pasted) to back up the lie.
well, seeo-however-you-spell-that DID tell woo to follow his heart and he would never be wrong – so maybe his lies where divine inspiration? also, i think butterfly will forgive him since it was totally selfless and just for her best….but now, i want to know whats up with the eagle!
Great, now I wanna see Butterfly dressed up like Ron Weasley, Quidditch Goalkeeper.
While I’m ecstatic for Butterfly, and it’s always nice to see Seeoahtlahmakaskay, I’m hoping at some point to see what exactly Sandra told her dad to drive them out there. That would take some major ‘creative truthing’ .
Butterfly: Sooo… Does this also mean that you didn’t really make any fanart of me?
See-Kay: Of course I have…but in my own way. I created a constellation of you! But I’m afraid that you have to wait about 3 months for Earth to move into the right solar orbit in order to see it.
@ Izumi Ryu:
They are one and the same. Just, different sizes.
I hug your neck.
I strangle your torso.
Not everything was a Lie….a few ones really were saved by he trick
@ Skunk:
The most convincing lie is the one that contains a kernel of truth.
Inverted paw bridge….*pictures a bunch of raccoons upside down between two cliffs.
Knew it!
She hasn’t told See-kay of the fanart yet… although I wouldn’t be surprised if See-kay’s reaction is “How did he know?”
@ QuantumManiac:
An even better way to lie is to tell the truth, but in such a way that it implies a falsehood.
That way, if you’re called out, the interpretation is their fault, not yours.
@ Garrett Williams:
She doesn’t have to “back up the lie”, all she has to say is the truth – something on the line of “Woo knows me well enough to speak on my behalf. Nothing he said was untrue or misleading in the least. You needed the paw up, he provided it.”
And knowing the ‘Inverted Paw Bridge’ is a good thing, and both Woo and Seeo know she’s the one who came up with it.
@ Ruby: Should we bring the fanart?
If Seeo-something was lying there was no reason to tell Woo was. Yey for Butterfly saving lives! =D
Well, if butterfly didn’t get confidence, woo’s paw would need a docter!( I mean she breaks bones with her paws if you don’t know what I mean)
I told you see Kay wouldn’t mind
@ John the Wysard:
Woot!! Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser quote!!
Aw man… there’s no more after this.
I am surprised at how quickly I caught up though, I started only a few days ago.
Isn’t that 15 in the transcript supposed to be 20?
The transcription is off. It says the trick saved 15 lives but the comic said 20.
