[0568] One And One Is K2
└ posted on Monday, 31 March 2014, by Novil
- Butterfly: You seem to know a lot about K2.
- Flint: Yes, I do. Mountaineering is my passion!
- Butterfly: Mountaineering? Isn’t this state lacking… mountains for that?
- Flint: True that. But I’m from the Sierra Nevada. I even ascended Mount Whitney from its East Face once!
- Butterfly: Wow, that’s really cool. Say, Flint, are you in the mood for a new challenge?
- Flint: You mean…?
- Flint: Sure! It’d be an honor to be your climbing partner!
Tricksy Raccoon Goddesses…
SEEOAHTLAHMAKASKAY!!!! >:(
AGAIN, the tags say “Butterfly climbing Flint”.
somebody has a one track mind.

Different species, and no obvious romantic relationship.
@ Bob:
Yep, the Raccoon god is one sneaky little devil.
@ SmartAlec105:
Well, she DID say he would be his ‘climbing parter’ :3
@ Valkeiper2012:
Again…she did volunteer as his partner. What she’ll be climbing is a different subject altogether.

Not when there is an out and out implication the character that suggested that in the first place is portrayed as “right”… like Seeoth was.
@ RWB:
If a friend of yours was working behind the scenes to set you up with someone they knew you’d be naturally attracted to, would that invalidate the fact that it was your choice to hook up with said person? No, so please stop portraying this as sexist.

Since you’re already going there: Seeoth wants Butterfly to have kids, yes. She never even implied in any kind of way this to be all she’s supposed to do for the rest of her life. And all she did here was setting it up that Butterfly actually has the choice whether to have kids or not by letting her meet a suitable partner.
The choice is still Butterfly’s.
Even if she goes for the kids, it won’t automatically be the end for any other dreams or goals she might have. At worst they will be on hold for some time.
So unless you are saying that women giving birth is sexist. Or a woman enjoying the company of a partner is sexist. Or that a woman is practically dead as soon as she has a kid. You simply do not have a point.
And if you are saying any of these three, you are, pardon the expression, a moron.
@ Professor Q:
Political Correctness does not apply to Raccoons, Raccoon Goddesses or to the rest of the animal kingdom. That is a conceit reserved solely for the sub-species of Homo Correctus.
“If you do things right, no one will be certain you’ve done anything at all.”
Grand storyline, and thanks for it!
Are you kidding me?
I was sure this was going to be the build-up to a twist.
.
Here I was thinking this was way too contrived for it to be played straight. This can’t be the ending. It is too bland / vanilla.

How exactly is it portrayed that See-Kay is “in the right”?

I dub this ship the Butterflint.

It is, and I was an absolute tool back in 2014.
I don’t regret my stance as I don’t disapprove of Butterfly having a mate or Kits (made no suggestion/insinuation otherwise,), only that strip 0565 made it seem like it should be her only choice or at least that’s how I read it.
Now had Butterfly’s dialogue been accompanied by a determined smile, while Seeoahtlahmakaskay expression wasn’t so much of a downer (maybe a smirk that says “of course”), I wouldn’t have had that impression. Honestly everything before and after the last half of 0565 was just fine to me.
