- Sandra: … Luna then told me that most of their financial assistance goes on their rent.
- Sandra: I’ve been thinking of giving her my next allowance…
- Larisa: No, I have a better idea.
- Larisa: First I invite her to {whisper} and then we {whisper} {whisper}
- Sandra: Why are you whispering? I don’t understand a word you’re saying.

@ EG:
This is Larisa we’re talking about. She’d burn the fourth wall if given the chance instead of breaking it.
@ FeigeRoman:
Why wouldn’t Larisa have an axe?!
@ Nuffles:
Maybe they will have to borrow the universe camera they use for Gaia till they can order a new camera and repair the fourth wall. But fourth wall glass is probably expensive. Wonder if they have continuity insurance?
So Larisa is aware of the plot law that only plans that the audience is unaware of have an actual chance to work :).
I was a little confused about all the comments regarding her axe, but then I remembered that city-dwelling humans don’t usually carry axes around with them. Anyway, Larisa bucks this urban trend, and bucks it well – she’s got the right size of axe for herself, and breaking the fourth wall takes some doing, especially with only a mundane and non-enchanted axe. Hopefully it will be fixed in time for the next strip!
Aaaaand another 4th wall joke.
Hm.
I know there is breaking the fourth wall, but I didn’t think she’d take it literally.
something tells me that her plan involves a bank, a rubber chicken and a sock full of butter.
I think that is the first instance of breaking the fourth we have ever seen
SCREW YOU, FORTH WALL!
@ Crazy Roth:
The “Precocious” kids set Sapphire Lake on fire, at least once. 🙂
@ Iron Ed:
p.s. I like that eight panel. Well done!
WHAT?!
We’ll Be Right Back!
Axe of Convenience!
Nice 4th wall breaking…
@ Crazy Roth:
You can actually do that. They are called fluorine fires. Fluorine can also set concrete and already burned things on fire.
Aaaaaand there goes the fourth wall.
An axe within arm’s reach…
Well that certainly is convenient.
For a second, I thought she’d done something to Sandra, but apparently the 4th wall was her victim.
@ FeigeRoman:
Well its a fire axe, so of course she got one 😀
@ FeigeRoman:
Oh, it’s for the obviously.
Er . . . just how long have you known about us, Larissa?
OK, coolest 4th wall bit I’ve ever seen. I doubly love that she just had an axe handy. She’s got mad serendipity powers.
So much for the forth wall….
Rule 34…
Also, Larisa is a terrible liar, and tries to avoid lying if possible because of this weakness. Her ability to keep secrets is astonishing.

Do not worry about it, that is perfectly normal. I am a Sandra X Cloud X Larisa shipper.
@ Crazy Roth:
He’s probably that one crazy uncle your parents never want to talk about!
Easy solution then. Turn Larissa on the rival gang.
@ FeigeRoman:
No. No you do not.
@ FeigeRoman:This is Larisa…maybe they’re not allowing her matches and she moved to axes.
Larisa is the Deadpool of the Sandra and Woo universe.
“Subtle” forth wall breaking
@ Sean:
Heh, I said exactly that after reading the strip. 😀
Larissa is, without doubt, my favorite.
Further proof that Larissa is an alien from another planet, with powere beyond mortal beings.
Larisa must know about the unspoken plan guaratnee
Not the 4th Wall! I needed that!
@ FeigeRoman:
Hammerspace, of course. It has always been “miscellaneous weapon space”, hammerspace is just the common name.
Larisa just axed the fourth wall.
@ Unmaker:But in this case she got it from Chekhov – it was there all along.

Take the right metal and add water, and you’ve got a lovely fire. Mmm, lilac flames.
That’s TWICE that we’ve encountered audio problems!
Dang it, Larissa!
I was watching that!
@ FeigeRoman:
She’s a Fan of the new show “The Librarians” and she’s just waiting to receive her Letter of Invitation.
@ Jerry:
That TV series “Librarians” is a rip off from a long running webcomic Wapsi Square. I say the webcomic is way better.
Huh, isn’t it usually the story that gets axed not the audience?
@ Tim:
sorry but i dont think anyone wants that kind of job
What fourth wall?
Great, she broke the comic.
Now it will be WEEKS until we get a new one.

“The Fourth Wall” refers to the non-existent “fourth wall” of a theatrical set. Essentially, it’s where the audience views the acting from, and the actors playing characters (minus narrators) are generally supposed to pretend there’s a “fourth wall” that separates them from the audience and blocks them from being seeing or hearing the audience.
“Breaking the Fourth Wall” refers to characters deliberately taking notice of the audience, and/or trying to interact with them, rather than the other characters in the play. Of course, the term has also expanded to include characters that aren’t played by actors, such as characters in comics (especially, since you’ve still got visual representation like taking an axe to the panel), some books, and some games. Breaking the old taboo of “ignoring the audience” and thus Breaking the Fourth Wall has been commonly done throughout history, though not enough to make it the norm. As such it has become a recognizable Trope. For a more modern explanation and a huge list of examples, consider checking out TVTropes org. It’s a pretty fun site to peruse anyway, and has a lot of other common tropes listed as well.
