[0693] The Brightest Stars

- Novil: Our Patreon patrons pay good money for the right to determine the names of all new characters in the comic. Here are their suggestions for the names of your kits.
- Woo: All right, Novil.
- Description arrow: Paid for with Patreon pledges
- Lily: Woo? I’m glad you’re here! We really have to name our kits today.
- Woo: I was about to suggest the same thing.
- Lily: Our babies are truly the brightest stars in our life. Therefore, I thought of Sirius, Canopus, and Arcturus, and for the girl, Vega.
- Woo: Uhh, what do you think of Harrim,–
- Lily: You like Harrim better than Sirius?!!
- Woo: N– N– NO! I love your names! They’re perfect!
- Lily: “Sirius”, do you like that?
- Sirius: Yaaah.
- Woo: Even if you give Novil a million dollars, I won’t commit suicide for you!
@ Lukkai:
The ‘worse’ probably wasn’t about the result but about the process / concept / idea. Asking Patreon patrons for names for fictional characters is arguably saner than asking
/b/to name your real actual live human offspring.What/who is Harrim?

There are actually two arrowheads, and the comment reads “Paid with Patreon pledges”, not “Paid for with Patreon pledges”. I presume that’s Powree and Novil (in their imaginations).

In retrospect (someone’s) portrait is pretty narcissistic.
And Prowee made you look youthful, probably to keep you in good favor.

Not to mention a pioneering Lockheed-built aircraft: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Vega
@ Bedinsis:
Both
@ Lukkai:
Not just the name (advice animal), consider how it was chosen – by a stranger on the Internet, on a NSFW imageboard, based on a (pseudo)randomly generated number.
Okay, if you didn’t get the message… these screencaps are short, but when threads get longer, “Hitler did nothing wrong” or other nazi references appear. Like I said, it could always be worse.
The last cartoon character I saw with a large letter N around his neck was the Quik Bunny.
Let’s see… Giving favors to patrons, versus being ripped to shreds by angry mother raccoon.
Choice seems pretty clear cut to me.
Wait…she didn’t name any of them Proceon? None of them?? I mean, Procyon lotor and all that…

Not So. She is 100% Natural.
Well, except for the hair color. She tweaked that i bit.

It’s easy to tell. Silicone just doesn’t “move” right.
Interesting factoid:
A quick Google search on the name “Harrim” as a First Name found only Two instances: Both were in the 1800s.
It seems to have dropped out of popular usage.
It also occurs as a Family name a bit more often.

For what it’s worth, I thought your joke was great.
A few days ago, I was on Online Sequencer and then I saw this ad about Sandra & Woo. I clicked on it and I couldn’t stop reading. I already read the entire comic 3 times!
Vega is lucky not to be male! If she was, her name after Lily’s system would be “Alpha Centauri”. But maybe Lily had jumped a few until the next normal male name: “Rigel”. Or, even one more to the famous “Procyon” everyone here seems to miss.

I think it read that at first, but it now reads “paid for,” so I’m guessing one is for the gold chain and the other for the girl. Powree is back behind the camera.
Would Bandit have been too Cliche? XD
@Enade:
We already saw what happened when Richard tried to name Woo “Rascal”. =)
Sirius has to grow up and fall in love with a male raccoon called Remus because WolfStar emirate Harry Potter fans?

So it does. It’s been changed since my comment (I actually copy’n’pasted from the transcript, to make sure I quoted it right).
In all the comics “Vega” is sleeping
How much sleep huh
the hard part of naming a kid Sirius would be the folks who asks what his name is…or getting the question about his identity (are you Sirius?)
perhaps, even, a person whose name is Sirius won’t be able to be taken “sirius-ly”
Ha. Woo still has a hard time.
Sirius is an awesome name, Lily!

It will feel even thinner when you discover that’s how many mothers get.
