Here is the most important info about the game if you’re not already familiar with it:
“Sandra and Woo in the Cursed Adventure” is a classical point-and-click adventure which is about 10 hours long and consists of six chapters. There will be an English and a German version of the game, both with a professional voice-over. The graphics consist of 3D rendered models in front of hand-drawn backgrounds.
The story begins with Sandra and Woo getting sucked into a cursed PC game. Now they have to find a way to get out of it again. Fortunately, they can count on the help of Sandra’s friends Cloud and Larisa. Of course you’ll gradually learn more about the background story of this “accident”. Over the course of the game, you’ll control various characters from the comic. So while Cloud may be at his wits’ end in a certain situation, our beloved pyromaniac Larisa might have just the right idea how to solve the problem with a little more destructive approach.
If you want to know more about the game, you can find additional info and screenshots on the game’s website.
You can’t vote on Steam with a limited account; you have to buy something of at least $5 in order to vote! 🙁
I went to steam to vbote, but i was disapointed. No Linux version? Melody is probably upset with that too.
I couldn’t p[lay the alpha, sadly., Missing some file that is part of the program used to make the game. I hope the Steam version works…
@Barbosabyte:
We are planning to make later a Linux and Mac version, after completion of the Windows version.
@Jon:
That’s odd. There have already several people played through theGreenlight demo. What was the error message?
Wow… Like seriously? I will for sure try out the alpha, when I have time… (probably on weekends)
Is an android or mac version planned?
A Mac version (and a Linux) yes, because with the engine we use, Visionaire4, we can do this relatively easy.
An Android version is much more difficult to implement, so we would only think at this if the game is sold reasonably well.
Of course the game is not finished yet, the last chapter is still incomplete, and then we need to polish the animations that are still in need of improvement, but most of the work is done
A success on Greenlight would give us fresh impetus for the rest of the work: D.
PS: Sorry for my horrible english 😉
I want to thank all Sandra and Woo readers who have up to now voted for our game!
The alpha demo is of course an alpha ;), in the next weeks we will still spend several time and work in the animations. I hope that still some readers find the time, to vote for us, so that we get green light. (Getting greenlight on Steam is not easy ;))
Ok, I am not going to say anything about the game as I have not played it. What I am going to talk about is the video you have on steam greenlight.
At 0:10 it claims the game is full of fresh ideas, but does not give an example. There is a green searchlight doing something, but without context that is meaningless.
at 0:17 it says that the game has fully voiced dialogs, but the examples given would make me rather play the game with the sound off, they are too disjointed and sound like you just recorded individual words and then strung them together to fit whatever the current dialog was.
at 0:23 it says there are puzzles, but no context is given to whats on screen and my first thought is that the puzzles are just the infamous “try to interact with everything in every way” standard used in so many point and click adventure games.
I thought the bunny thing at 0:25 is funny, however the “more puzzles” bit at 0:30 did not seem so.
I didn’t really understand what was happening at 0:32, but it was funny
0:40 player vs environment didn’t really tell me anything
0:44 – 0:55 “entertainment at its finest” the montage seemed to be just the right speed, but again gave me very little information
1:00 “get ready” my first thought was ” I have to go into a menu and put on a nightgown before I can sleep!?” but upon further thought it appears to be that you store extra stuff in your closet? and maybe have to be careful not to wake your dad at night?
what Sandra said 1:04 was almost funny, but needed more context, like if she was supposed to be looking at your computers game files at the time or something
I realize that this is a fairly negative review of a video that probably had a lot of effort put into it, and I wish I could give more suggestions on how to improve on the issues I mentioned. Currently I feel that the game would have been better served with some gameplay footage than what you have up.
Thanks for your review!
Sure we can in a trailer not show the whole game, there are only snapshots. This is in almost all the trailers so that you only get glimpses into individual scenes. And of course it is a classic point and click adventure. The fresh ideas relate more to the story than the gameplay, the gameplay is like a classic adventure games.
Also we do not want to bring too many spoilers in the trailer, the game should still contain surprises for those who want to play it.
so it is therefore difficult to make a trailer that explains all scenes sufficient.
