FIRST TO COMMENT!!!
Looks like someone doesn’t want to become a roasted poultry 😀
I have to figure Ruth is well known for shooting other predictors whom happen upon her territory.
@ Miyto:
… Oops, Predators.
Darn tiny phone screen/autofill options.
@ Miyto:
Unless they happen to be her friends.
Always keep the crazy on your side 😀
Interesting how the wings make the sound of screeching tires… 😀 😀 😀
I’m sure our eagle wants to add something about being all skin and bone, with a bad case of worms and feather parasites that are probably transmissible to pine squirrels… and I’m sure that Ruth want to give a lesson to all in “Predate not, lest thou be predated on!”
>:=)>
RUTH! Oh I’ve missed you! A very pleasant surprise this Monday morning. Novil you are brilliant, thank you for bringing her back! makes sense too since she is the only one light enough to go on the top branch to help Sirius down and lay a smackdown to the eagle/hawk/whatever bird of prey.
That quote from Ruth sounds Shakespearish, is it from any particular play or book?
I don’t see her with her gun or the backpack holding the gun though. However, I wouldn’t put it past her to be able to physically overpower some alpha predators.
Well done
@ Andy Wong:
The gun is not necessary as Ruth’s reputation is well known in the forest.
Hey! It’s Ruth!
😀
Impressive, that Ruth no longer needs a gun.
She probably still has her gun under her tail or something…
I think the eagle can take her.
Woo! My favourite level 5 predator returns!

A bit of googling shows that it probably originates from the Calvin & Hobbes comic of 18 July 1992.
Not quite Shakespeare but just as worthy a quote origin methinks.
The expression of the eagle really sells this strip. Heck, you could have removed the dialog and the strip would still have been great.
Anyway, I wonder if Woo and Lily will thank Seeoahtlahmakaskay for the help.
ruth ex machina.
And the croud goes wild!

That’s because the eagle has learned from the hummingbirds!
You do know how the hummingbirds stop so fast, don’t you?
(Wait for it.)
Air Brakes!
OH MAN!!
It’s the psycho squirrel.
And here I thought Sirius was saved.
Yay, Calvin and Hobbes quote!
Ruth: Doing the work of gods. Perhaps she is a goddess herself?
Yeah, passing through her intestinal tract! 😉
Good news, prayer has been answered.
Bad news, not the way you wanted it.
Why’s she looking away from the eagle? o3o
@ Frank:
How do you change your expressions? It’s neat.
@ The J.A.M.:
Come on, it’s obvious it’s not the wings. It’s the talons scratching at the air to get traction and slow him down, just like tires with asphalt. 😀
Well, it seems I’m the only one not specially happy to see Ruth. Frankly, I don’t like her. She has made a choice to kill other animals when she doesn’t need to, while the predators don’t have any other choice as they’re carnivorous. Not only that, she has also destroyed families, leaving orphan wolf cubs, and she has killed more than needed to feed herself.
Sincerely, I hope she runs out of bullets some time soon, and doesn’t find any more.

Hey that’s just like an 18 wheeler!
And yes, they use air brakes. Google “18 wheeler brake systems” if you want to know more.

CALLED IT!
‘ABORT! ABORT!’ Indeed.

I respect your opinion, and I know a lot of people don’t like her. However, if there existed some race of creatures that had no choice but to kill humans to live, I would kill as many of them as I could. Nothing personal, but it’s a war, and I’m on our side.

Yes, that’s the whole basis of the joke!
I recntly dound your comic strip. And Managed to read it all in short time. And I have to say it is awesome.
One question, that coded book, did somebody already solve it. And if so what was the result? And if not. Then I suggest a job in cryptography. 😛
Yay, Ruth! It’s been a while.
@ 112aws:
ur special ed…@ 112aws:You are special Ed.
@ Naldrin:
You dont know nuts are plentfull there. Squrials eat meat and are known to hunt in packs when starving. Ruth just subs a gun for efficiency
There was something all to familiar about the first three panels but took me a while to remember what.
Aha Hot Shots with the tire like squeal from the air brakes.
@ 112aws:
Actually you just commented that you commented = you didn’t comment the comic = you wasn’t first to comment the comic, you didn’t do it at al…
Poor Roc, couldn’t answer a simple prayer… I always liked SnW but the strips from roughly about this year on have been ingenious, keep up the good work!
(And with this i probably will be the last to comment this strip…?)
@ ServantofNorthia:
nope ( i had to i just had to)
Actually, it’s a Biblical Reference: From the Book of Ruth.
@ Djkblue:
But you didn’t comment on the actual strip, so… it doesn’t Count 😉
@Jerry
A biblical reference, interesting. Ruth became a Jew though her people were disliked by the jews by loyalty o Naomi and in the end marrying Boas.
Ruth became a predetor by starting to hunt and eat predators, now she is disliked by them, but she wasn’t Before…?
Ruth’s reputation precedes her.
