- Caption: At nighttime.
- Eagle: … And then I saw her, the legendary beast, with her razor-sharp claws and fiery eyes! Right next to the little raccoon.
- Wolf: I always thought she was just a myth.
- Wolverine: They say she once tore a grizzly to pieces and devoured them in seconds!

Why am I suddenly reminded of ‘Almost Got ‘Em’ where the Batman villains are sitting around talking about how they almost got Batman.
The wolverine doesn’t seem to know what ‘whole’ means. >_>
@ Kamino Neko:
Maybe she just tore off a few small pieces (like the throat) and then ate the rest whole.
Who, the transcript has disappeared.
Also, I can’t read the sign above the predator’s hangout. Can anyone else?
@ Xezlec:
Ye Old Howler? Also, it’s not the claws you should be worried about, Eagle…

plottwist, ruth disguised was hidden among tonight’s predators, ready to feast once more 😉
I’m reminded of the old joke? about Abraham Lincoln…growing up in a log cabin he built with his own two hands…
At least, I always hope it’s a joke. Because that’s some serious paradox if it’s not. That’s the sort of paradox that causes realities to implode.
Awesome. I guess I should be glad that the eagle got away in one piece. However, I dare not assume all is well with Sirius when it comes to Ruth. I can only hope Sirius walked away from this experience wiser and not so traumatized.
Damn, better keep Vega away from Ruth. If that little ball of fur dared to go after a grizzly, I wonder what is her reaction with Ruth. And Ruth might not be so forgiving than the mama bear previously.
Just hope Woo and co. are still on good terms with her. After all, they all continue to threaten to eat Sid most of the time.
If the Eagle only knew about the promise Lily extolled out of Seeoahtlahmakaskay regarding what would happen to ANYONE would laid a finger on any of her children. If only, the Eagle would be thanking Ruth for stopping him/her from a very painful mistake.
What was that promise, again? A thousand painful deaths? Forty years of torment in the ninth circle of hell?
Or does that promise only apply to raccoons. Methinks Lily wouldn’t make that distinction and I suspect Seeoahtlahmakaskay would feel bad enough (i.e., missed prayers) that she’d make sure it happens. I guess Roc didn’t know about Seeoahtlahmakaskay’s promise when the Eagle’s prayers were answered.
She has has terrible tusks, and terrible claws, and terrible teeth in her terrible jaws!
Dang Ruth you are awesome. To have such a legend is brilliant.
Quick language note; if you “tear a grizzly to pieces,” by definition, you can’t “eat it whole.” “Eat it raw” would work.
@ Kamino Neko:
I dont think “tore a grizzly to pieces” is meant literally, more like a proverb.
Maybe “ate the whole thing”?
Predators seem to recognize Ruth on sight, meaning they have an accurate description of her, yet this image is what gets passed around? Anyway, the eagle is still alive, so he can count himself lucky.

Well, she is the most foul, cruel, and bad tempered rodent they ever set eyes on.
@ Who, me?:
Preeeetty sure that’s part of the joke.

Yeah, it’s a bit like a scene in Pirates of the Caribbean:
Jack Sparrow: I know those cannons. It’s the Pearl.
Man in Jail: The Black Pearl? I’ve heard stories. She’s been preying on ships and settlements for near ten years. Never leaves any survivors.
Jack Sparrow: No survivors? Then where do the stories come from, I wonder?
I’m still trying to figure how in Red vs. Blue, Tex was able to pull Jimmy’s skull right out of his head and beat him to death with it. That doesn’t seem physically possible.

As a German (who might have made the same translation mistake) I am quite sure that Novil meant “ate the corpse of the grizzly up completely”, not “swallowed the corpse in one piece”
And it turns out she was right there, wearing a wolf costume.
Perhaps he learned the trick from humans, who can kill you, cook you, and eat you alive.

Y’know, that’s exactly what Jimmy said.

The bird don’t lie, man. The bird don’t lie.
I thought wolverines broke into storehouses, tear things up, ate what they can, and ‘ruined’ anything they left behind.
Why should this one get upset when a rodent does it.
(please note tongue firmly embedded in cheek)
Ahh, the embellishments one tells to save their pride.

Poor predators. 🙁
Just a myth? Those are her scraps.
And this is why we don’t teach animals how to use human tools.
For those commenting on the linguistic side of things, I doubt they have proper schools in the woods and, don’t forget, that people don’t always say consistent things (especially when they’re nervous).
am I the only one that noticed it gave the website for Gaia at the bottom of the comic, instead of the one for Sandra and Woo?
@ hyperman500:
Cross-promotion!
i will just say this, how is she not dead? i mean i get she can kill but she is not an carnivore like wolf not even omnivore like us human or bear, wont she constipate and die? worse the mineral poisoning should have made her shed skin and imidiately die due to eating a meat, infact worst thing is how she did not die by eating wolf due to heat of toxic strain in muscles and veins and the cholestrol and also the poison in grizzly meat which causes body to rot.
