ARE BEING CROSSED
I APPROVE.
Sorry guys, did not intend to start a flame war about Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. It just so happened that when I was younger, I kept hearing a lot of jokes about Bill Gates being associated with the Devil, whether he deserved it or not.
On the other hand, I never heard much about Steve Jobs negative reputation. But I am not up to date to his life and tribulations. Nor am I with Bill Gates either. So I got no right to judge either. In any case, Jobs has passed away. Let him rest.
I wonder why the devil brought Jobs along though. Is he just a cameo or does he have a role to play?
In re Steve and Bill: Let’s just all agree they can both go to hell.
Well at least Steve Jobs has several orifices you could stick a headphone jack into !
I’m honestly not surprised. Even when he was alive, Steve Jobs had no depth.
@ TvTropesgotmehooked:
You can’t. I can. Granted, I wouldn’t be opposed to having the panels with lightning flashes illuminating the entire scene being colored in pure black, white, and greys; that’s a close approximation of how things tend to look IRL when a strong lightning flash occurs, and is more or less the standard approach to animating such instances on TV.
Let’s just appreciate the irony of saying blasphemy to the Devil for a moment…Alright, moment’s over.
Why is Steve Jobs here? Is this just a one-off joke, or is there a reason why?
@ Moilk: Are you referring to one of the several claims referred to here? http://www.skepticalraptor.com/skepticalraptorblog.php/vaccine-denialists-hate-bill-gates/ If not would you care to explain because I’ve never heard anyone accuse Bill Gates of killing people before.
@ TheSkulker: Well from the few things I’ve heard about how Bill Gates was when he was younger, it certainly sounds like he was not the nicest person. However, in the Abrahamic tradition, even the worst sinners get a second chance. I wouldn’t be surprised if his wife changed him, but his attitude is consistent enough in his interviews now that I imagine he actually has changed and become a charitable person. But then I don’t truly know and I doubt you do either. In truth I don’t decide whether he will go to Heaven or Hell, all I can say that the person he is now, or at least the person I perceive him to currently be is one of my role models.
@ Andy Wong: I think most of Steve Job’s negative reputation came after his death, so no hard feelings, sorry for being so harsh.
@ Trackman – No worries.
Actually, this entire arc is somewhat worrisome to me, I keep having to remind myself that this is a comic and not to be taken seriously. But having God and his angels as the “bad guy” in this arc with the devil as the “good guy”, as we currently see until now, still makes me somewhat uncomfortable, yet I’m still following the arc with great enthuthiast.
Then again, this Thomas J God probably isn’t the God I know considering there seems to be a pantheon that works like a corporation in this universe. Then it goes against the definition of God who is the one who is, therefore not the God I believe in. LOL, I’m raving I know, but suffice to say, I’m still hooked and just have to regard this god of humans (no capital letters) is just a comic book character
Didn’t break
Hope that didn’t crack anything besides a joke.
Not gonna join the Gates vs Jobs argument, it’s easy to find bs (positive and negative alike) about rich and famous folk.

Personally, I prefer reading/watching media where norms are reversed. In a fantasy/action story in progress (Mythospective), I named one of my protagonists Goliath for this reason.
Besides, a lot of sects or political parties have names describing the opposite of what they are. For example, my birth country (Turkey) has been governed by a certain “Justice and Development Party” the last decade; they corrupted the entire Justice system, flooded the place in concrete without bringing actual progress in areas that needed it (Education and Healthcare, among others).
It seems the Abrahamic God tends to do a lot of horrible things to his own subjects, anyway. I mean, really; making the Fruit of Knowledge a sin, classifying newborn babies as “sinners” because the first two humans broke a rule? What about drowning (and that’s a very horrible, agonizingly slow death) millions of animals who did nothing wrong just to purge Earth of a bunch of terrible humans?
Satan facepalmed. This is officially the best comic ever.

But there is important difference between them which makes Steve appearing here with Devil making much more sense:

Bill is still alive.
This may well be my favourite joke in this webcomic ever.

Why make them thin?
Because they break more easy and then they have to buy new ones. ????. PROFIT!!

That joke fell flat.
BTW, at least Jobs didn’t break his face when he fell.
