The problem with human gods is the ‘human’ part.
We did that since the very beginning, made up something to explain all the things we didn’t understand, to give our lives purpose and direction (because we can’t just figure that out on our own, someone outside must be directing the show), and to use to tell other people what to do (you must do X because GAWD wills it!) But these gods were always human beings (we did make them up after all, what else would they be?) with too much power, and so would act every bit as bad as most humans with that power – again, because they are us; we are not made in God’s image, God is made in ours!

Her first mistake was giving the job to a guy who said he wanted it. Seriously, only someone who doesn’t want the job can possibly be trusted with it.

That might have been true at one time, but the procedure has become very safe and predictable. I suppose they might still reccommend that for a patient with unusually high risk factors (but not so high as to rule it out altogether), but for most patients, doing both eyes at the same time seems to be standard procedure these days. I know when I did it this past spring, I had both eyes done in the same visit.
Oh! Oh! Does this mean Seeoahtlamakaskay used to be a mortal racoon?? 😀

I vote we humans need a raccoon as our god/goddess.
Well, this would explain everything that’s happened from 2019 to the present…
