I can only tell wich one is Vega, because the others dont have their “signature” behavior… Plus Vega is the only one who inherited Lily’s brighter mask color.

well, the one Vega is cannibalizing upon (Sirius) has black feet, unlike all the other kits.
it was also earlier stated that Arcturus has a black dot on his forehead, making him the one facing away from Lily.
this leaves the last one to be revealed as Canopus!
Was Woo playing with a yarn ball? I see a yarn ball on the bed in front of him.

Oh never mind it is tagged with Arcturus, I just messed up. But it still confirms my statement that there’s no dot anymore.

How unfortunate that Lily didn’t at least get a sandwich out of her ordeal like I did.
Lily is a brave mother, taking care of all her children alone.

As for competition, the idea with mating is to pass on your genes, and your own offspring will do so for you, male or female. In average, your children, when they get a child, passes on half as many of your genes as you do when you get a child. This means that a male raccoon’s male offspring needs a 50%+ chance of robbing their father of a mating in order for it to pay off killing them. This strikes me as unlikely.

some times… infanticide is done for a number of different reasons. sometime there is not enough food to feed all the kids. sometimes it is because its another male’s kids, sometimes a better mate came along, other times we just dont know why they did it.
