I say she just ran and hid when her dad wanted to pay chess.
Darn! I used to play chess but didn’t notice the floor’s checkerboard pattern or the fact that Sandra was in the position to be taken by a knight.
The solution could be mundane, but I like to go for interesting so Sandra has been captured by the rook and forced to play on a living chess board with other kids captured by the little ponies. Woo won’t travel, he wasn’t on a square to be taken by the knight and will be wondering if he should break the wildlife code and tell Richard & company or just see who he could rustle up from the woods to come to Sandra’s aid.
Sadly, if Novil goes that route, he’ll probably make it just a dream with Sandra waking up and staring at the ponies in her bedroom and complaining about the side effects of eating too much pizza.
They went for tacos Warm, comforting tacos.
She got eaten those ponies are EEEEVVVVIIIILLL
Don’t most teenagers run away when an adult asks them to play a game like chess?
Next scene is from inside horse stomach.
This is totally Yuna’s doing. She got bored of dolls and decided to shrink her brothers gang and play actual evil concurrer with them
DEAD she’s dead.
She wouldn’t leave her crown behind for much. thus warped somewhere.
*Eyes what Yuna has been up to recently.
HELLO, MR. NORTH. HOW ABOUT A NICE GAME OF GLOBAL THERMONUCLEAR WAR?
She’s under the bed on the side of the room, where chess pieces go when they get rekt

Larisa: Let me play!!!

She’s OK. It’s just Richards bad dream. She will “jump” out if nowhere screaming something. He played too much modern horrors (jumpscares).
Chess Hell, that’s where.
Mmm, with that “crown” and a royal cape and such?
She hides in the Narnia cupboard, doesn’t she ?
Well, when looking at the tiles, we can conclude a few things:
a) Sandra and Woo are the white pieces and Luna black (soly due to colouring)
b) There must have been at least 3 moves:
0) Luna’s move making Sandra shiver
1) White moves (hopefully Sandra)
2) Black moves – Luna is on the tile Sandra was on, check the diadem on the tile
3) White moves – possibly Woo as both are not on the previous tiles anymore
I hope Sandra only lost the diadem due to a hasty move, and not because she was taken.
The remaining questions are if this is a duel between the Queens and if not who are the Kings?
She got sent to the Moon for betraying Equestria.
Clearly, she’s been taken off the board
Banished to the Mooooonnn!
She didn’t want to play chess! Duh!
Tossed her crown to have something in the square still and hides under the bed and next stripe she will prolly shush her father and tell him to hide under the bed as well from the evil evil horsie ^^
I think she’s been taken, but who’s the white King? Cloud, obviously.
Woo has gone to get Cloud.
@ Blitz the Comic Guy: you are talking about gravity falls aren’t you?
SHe found Ned Frishmann’s Time Zipper and went back in time to Udrogoth to hang out with the Dark Lord Chuckles the Silly Piggy.
ERMAHGERD LUNALUNALUNA BEST PRINCESS EVAHHHH!
Clearly Luna sent her to the moon! Must’ve mistaken her for Celestia while carrying out some convoluted revenge scheme. Easy mistake to make, given Sandra’s regal bearing, pale skin and light hair. All she needs it a sun on her thigh and it’ll be impossible to tell them apart.
She was Probably kidnapped by a herd of wild midgets led by mini me
she hides in the closet

Cloud: Ohh, what are you doing over here?
Woo: *flails arms*
Cloud: Timmy fell into the well again?
Woo: *face-paws*
Woo: SANDRA HAS BEEN TAKEN BY AN EVIL HORSE TO THE MOON! Uhh, I mean…
*chatters like a raccoon*
Cloud: I knew you could talk… lets go get Larisa and go to the moon!!!
Cloud: *wakes up* Boy, what a crazy dream that was!
Woo: *cough* Ummmm… To the moon!!!
P.S.: Timmy never actually fell down any well on any episode of Lassie.
In your classical chess a king can never be taken/beated/removed or whatever. The game ends just before the king-killing move is possible. But the king was killable in some pre-chess games, and different chess variations.
Speaking of variations, it is obvious that Sandra is not a queen or king, she’s an empress. That’s a fairy chess piece that appeared in a number of chess sets, known enough to have its own wikipedia page. Sandra moves like a rook or a knight and the game can go on without her. Princess Luna, on the other hand, is a princess piece. Luna moves like a bishop or a knight.
The problem with the empress is her plot armor. It’s so OP, that it can only be pierced with cheats, and Luna is definitely not a master cheater. So even if the Luna’s attack was successful, Sandra is only transported/captured/freezed/compacted into tiara/diassembled on a molecular level to be assembled later with all HPs restored or whatever they do when the plot armor kicks in.
And yet i think there was no attack. Luna may be evil, but she is not stupid, and she knows her chances. She knows she cannot destroy Sandra, but she can scare the empress effectively. So as far as i see it, there was a dialogue. Possibly a long one. With threats and blackmail and bargain. As a result, Luna now posesses a shiny tiara, and Northia now posesses a new ruler. But fear not, it won’t be long until some rebel will appear to save the day. Again. I think they should elect him as a chancellor or a vice-speaker, he’s done so much for the country.
I think Sandra is still in the house. And now that her dad is in the house He along with Sandra and Woo will be teleported to another dimension.
Me?
I think she just left to get a Sweater, because she was cold.

What? Not Everything has to be fantastical? It’s refereed to as the Un-Joke.
This is a story arc. The last two strips show successive positions in a chess game. In the March 23 strip, we can see one complete edge of the board, 8 squares long. The square in the upper left corner of the room is black; therefore, the visible edge is either the right or the left edge. In this picture, the black knight (Luna horse) has moved to capture the white queen (Sandra) that was on that square in the previous strip. However, the white piece (Woo) that was on the adjacent square in the previous strip has disappeared. The Woo piece is dressed as a peasant soldier — therefore, a pawn (“pawn” and “peon” are the same word etymologically, meaning “foot soldier.”) The pawn is no longer seen; therefore, it moved after the capture. It could only have moved along its file, away from the square now occupied by the black knight. Therefore, white pieces were originally set up on the opposite side of the board; the black knight is now on black’s KKt-3 square; and the Woo pawn has moved FORWARD one square to reach the far edge of the board, and has been promoted –presumably to a queen. White now has at least a queen (Woo) and a king on the board; black has at least a king and a knight (Luna).
@ Nother Nonymous: Addendum: this reminds me of the covert chess game underlying all the incidents and story line in “Alice’s Adventures Through the Looking Glass.”
@ Nother Nonymous: Sorry, I should have said that the square in the upper RIGHT corner of the room is black (therefore, the visible edge is either the right or left edge of the board).
Meh, whether it’s right or left depends on which way you think you’re facing while looking at the floor. The FAR square — in the corner below the framed picture on the wall. It’s black, so the edge with the door in it is either the right or left edge.
Naturally she grew wings to escape
@ Rebecca:
That’s what drinking Red Bull does!
My guess is that Cloud called her and now she’s outside.
The ‘Night’ has taken the Queen. ‘King’ Richard needs to find a way to capture the ‘Night’. I suggest using cross tactic using Larisa as a Bishop (cross-fire) and Cloud as a Rook (cross-slash)
It’s Luna, so this is actually elaborate foreshadowing that the next arc will all be a dream.
“Oh, hi Dad.”
I like this one. In the last strip, Princess Luna was a ‘knight’s jump’ away from the Queen (Sandra), and since Sandra moved, Luna captured her. Woo seemed to be a pawn, so he can go to the end of the room and resurrect Sandra. Sadly, Woo himself will disappear.
Knight take’s Queen
I know this has nothing to with this strip but does anyone remember the page where Larisa takes the pills in front of Woo
@ Eragon Auditore:
ok never mind i found it through another strip
@ hitomi2500:
Aww, I was hoping to see Sandra as a pony.
@ Nother Nonymous:
I think Woo would resent being called Sandra’s “pawn”.
TO THE MOON!!
