Transcript says that Richard says “Best… girl… ??” when it very clearly looks like Sandra is doing it in the strip. Is he just being occluded by Sandra or something? Or was that a mistake.

when i started reading this comic some month ago, i asked a friend that “Hey, I started to read a new webcomic some hours ago, it’s good stuff… do you know sandra and woo?” (in our native language)
He literally replied that in ENGLISH: “Larisa is best girl” or “Larisa is best grill” (often mispelled on purpose, even when spoken. like “the” -> “teh”) [note: i prefer sandra]
The comic refers to this. (male) fans have their favorite female characters. In anime, in manga, in webcomic. Tell in a Love live anime (9 girls sliceoflife/idol/singing stuff) fangroup that you like Nishikino Maki. Now you created a flame war, as there will be people who will agree with you, and there will be the others. Tell on a programmer list that VIM better than EMACS and you created the N+1th editor war. People makes orderings X is superior to Y.
Best girl is the girl you like the most.
This page uses this as a joke, a joke that many people may or may not get.
There were several occasions when the joke is an inside joke, or something that many people may not get if they weren’t working on that field, don’t took the same hobby.

Kurisu Makise is a fine coice, but the right answer to the question who best girl is, is obviously Haruhi Suzumiya. She basically is god.

All this argument about waifus is obscuring the important question: Which anime are they trying to make reality? ‘Cause I’d much rather live in, say, Ghost in the Shell or Cowboy Bebop than some others I could name.

Personally I’m partial to Ami Mizuno and Ayame from Inuyasha l. Ah Ami, shy, cute, IQ higher than room temperature.

God status rarely has anything to do with whether a character is Best Girl or not. In fact a lack of God status would be *more* of a qualifier because it makes the character more moe. Again, for whatever the hell moe is.
But then again Haruhi isn’t God so the point is mute anyway.
Also, we have real life anime now. It’s called Pokemon Go. Also, that Anime YouTuber. Also, I’m pretty sure people have already tried to marry Hatsune Miku.
They wont succeed, my people have been actively sabotaging their efforts since the 70’s. Humanity just isn’t ready for that kind of madness.

Interesting choices that Ye Thuza made – I’m assuming that they weren’t made just simply for aesthetic reasons (Megumin for EXPLOSIVE power, and Kurisu for brains)…
But if I were to put my 2 cents in…
I’d pick Darkness over Megumin for my KonoSuba pick and Nagato Yuki over Kurisu for brains.
Though If I just had to pick top two, I’d probably pick Miyazono Kaori (talent, manic, and cute) and Chitanda Eru (innocents, curiosity, and cute…), with Kuriyama Mirai for glasses a close third. Somehow, I think only Kaori would stand a chance of fitting in with this cast. :9
… yup. I look forward to the day that Sandra becomes the 3rd best.
I know this is so old buuuuuuuuuut I’m just so happy you guys know about Konosuba because it’s one of my favorite animes ever! That is all.

Useless. If you don’t watch anime regularly and is not an otaku, you will not even know what a “best girl” is and will not be aware of the eternally going “Best Girl Wars”, much less of the subtle and complex differences between a “Best Girl” and a “Waifu”. My suggestion for your peace of mind, become an Otaku as soon as you can. You’ll be far more confused, but at least you’ll know what we’re talking about.
