What board game is that? I would guess monopoly, but it doesn’t look like that…
I don’t see why Larissa would be so subdued with Landon there…
@ The J.A.M.:
Perhaps she’s got a good hand in a good game. 🙂
Is it Colon of Catan ? and Sandra is too young and pure to organize a party while her dad is not here ^^
What’s realistic about Larisa being in a room where flammable objects are not on fire?
@ MidoriLuna:
She can play with matches after cleaning those suckers out.
She’s no dummy and knows it doesn’t work if you reverse the order.
@ The J.A.M.:
Second or third panel? 😀
Luna cleans up nicely

Can’t be Monopoly – the table is not flipped

Either Cones of Dunshire or Chardee MacDennis.
I like in panel #2 where Larisa is pulling panicking Landon to the upstairs bedroom.
@ Robert:
Larisa would do that, if there was no one else around.
@ someboddy:
I laughed.
Aw yeah! …I’m surprised Larisa isn’t dragging Landon to an isolated spot anyway though, if only for the smooches.
That almost looks like Blood Rage… but it’s not close enough to make me think it actually IS Blood Rage.
I’ll admit that I’m stumped.
panel three is totally realistic, in my experiences the whole ‘teenager alone at hom equals destructive party’-thing as a myth……i once had the run of the house at age 15, and of course threw party, there was no alcohol or cigaretes, but lots of chocolate and ice cream 😉 the ‘worst’ that happened were a few sticky stains afterwards (from the ice cream, not what any of you dirty minded people may think LOLOLOL)
Not enough pizza to be believable.
@ MidoriLuna:
Expectations should be that she’ll put all house on fire.
Well yah… Why go all crazy when you can relax and play some cards…
nicktyrong wrote:
Given the parties I had at that age, I agree. There should be at least three or four empty boxes around.
@ Icarus:
The third. And Landon’s on the opposite side of the table, too.
One thing doesn’t make sense though. Larisa and Landon are sitting on the opposite sides of the table. That seems like impossibility so I suppose reality is the left picture then?
@ Trimutius:
As sedate as the party seems to be, with little opportunity to smooch, snuggle, or whisper sweet nothings to someone beside you, it might be preferable to be across from each other to look at each other. Also, if it some sort of territorial game, not being next to each other on the board is likely going to avoid hurt feelings between the two.
At first I thought the board game might be Risk, but after looking at it again I’m thinking it’s something else.
Sandra appears to be sitting out, so game is for max 6 players, with a circular playing area – uses cards, disc shaped tokens (?money) and possibly dice. Should narrow it down a bit

Well, She and Landon to seem to be distancing themselves from each other for a while, remember?
nicktyrong wrote:
LOL, I’ll give you that.
Also, a quick, approving nod to the small detail of Luna drinking tea whilst the others drink coke.
Just because noone said it… expectation Luna is hooot.
I prefer the realistic outcome. Who needs noise, alcohol and a messy house?
I would be the one who has to clean it up afterwards… So having a calm evening with friends and a boardgame is much better.
@ Paeris Kiran:
Actually i thought luna is ye thuza in the second panel. But that would fail the purpose of the comic.
Also theo has a lot similarities with Richard. But that could not be since he is still fixing the database his coworker broke.
Reality is alright. Could use more snacks besides cookies though.
Wait a second, is that DUNE?!
YESS!!!
I have absolutely no idea how Sandra or Richard got the game (maybe it’s Ilya77’s Print-and-Play version), but this game kicks ass and is an absolutely excellent choice! WOOOOOOOO
Also, for comparison, here is the Print-and-Play version by Ilya77.
Just imagine how good the game must be for somebody to release an unofficial redesign of this out-of-print gem, free of charge.
Mr. Knörzer, kudos.

seems more like Settler of catan
I just realised, Theo is basically Richard when he was younger xD

“If there was no one else around.” Funny. It’s like you don’t know Larisa at all.
@ Peya Luna:
Maybe at 15, that’s a bit young for real wild parties. I was 18 when my folks took off for two weeks in Hawaii and I got the last ‘guest’ out of the house the day before they got back. It took two trips in a station wagon to return the empty kegs. There were probably, at one point in time 120 people in and around my house. I won’t mention more than the beer but there was a LOT more than that going around. It was also magical because not one neighbor called the cops. Yes, wild parties DO happen. I’ve thrown several.
@ Formedras:
No, because they would stop her.
someboddy wrote:
It is probably “CATAN – trade build settle”, judging from the shape of the board and the fact that there are both markers and handheld cards in play. The German version (“Siedler von Catan”) is one of the most popular boardgames in Germany.
@ Peya Luna:
Our party when we were 15 looked completely different: 25 people, liters of alcohol, few guys jumping outta window and running around the house naked while it was freezing outside in january, one girl drunk until she collapsed, ambulance arrived then arrived police officers and kids were jumping out the windows and balcony. But yeah, at the end of the day police understood we were stupid teenagers and the girl ended up ok.
Good to see Luna, Benjamin and Theo again.
Why is Luna drinking tea?
Do she have a problem with caffeine and/or bubbles?
Yeah, you need the right kind of friends for the right kind of party! The one on the right I mean 🙂
These are good kids
@ someguy:
I aggree, Catan with some artistic licence as i’ve never seen Catan with a square board.
Six players is too many for it to be Discworld: Ankh-Morpork. In Catan you’d have settlements, cities, and roads instead of coins. The board is too square for Shogun or Tokaido. In Smallworld the creature tokens are rectangular, not round.
Maybe they’re playing Mission: Red Planet, which has a square board, round tokens, and cards.
Looks like Cyclades to me, but it doesn’t use cards… Well but there are a lot of possibilities for a game with such a board and cards available… Definitely not Catan as it doesn’t use chips, and has houses and roads thing. Also it only plays up to 6 players even with expansions… I don’t remember game with such a board on our board game meet though, so can’t tell which game it is, even though I did see quite a number of games…
@ Robert:
Well, we don’t *know* that’s Larisa, for all we know both power couples broke up! And after all, Sandra’s not in panel 2 *either*…
