It’s a good thing Zoey didn’t win. At this point she’s probably the least suitable of the whole class.
IT’S 2016 ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!
What is a class representative and why is it a big deal?
A pity the last vote didn’t go to Taylor or Sebastian for a three-way tie.
Yeah, I just wanted to watch the world burn. I hope Larisa is proud of me.
What about Irvine? She got no votes?
Sufficiently close elections are all rigged. Only guilty candidates would claim otherwise.

You mean from chapter 959?
I think that’s just Zoey’s family name.
Zoey’s right. A candidate that only 30% of the electorate definitively support has been elected as representative of 100% of them. This, my friends, is a system that we consider democratic.
Single Transferable Vote (or, in this case, Instant Runoff Vote) all the way.
The election is won! Now come the trials and tribulations of representativehood…
Sandra: This meeting is so boring!! Why did I even stand for this post??
superposed_alternate-probability!Zoey: *looks up from smartphone* Did you say something? …Did I miss anything?
>:=)>
That last vote was clearly from a Russian!

@ Titan:
Plurality election? I was expecting a runoff.
@ A. Commenter:
Good point. 7 votes out of 27 when 3 are your campaign group are hardly substantial too.
This is why we need the communism. Votes too bad. Must put dictators in power. Unstoppable glory greatest mother country proud.
There’s two Larisas?! :O
@ Ctoan:
Never mind, that’s someone else in the foreground.
@ Ctoan:
It’s Taylor.
Oh, how the pointing has turned >:))
@ Ctoan:
You would really think how Taylor could pass of as Larisa’s twin.
I don’t know whether the vote actually being rigged (using awful plurality voting) makes this funnier or not.
If I was the teacher I’d use ranked choice voting.
Larisa, Landon, Cloud, Luna, Benjamin, and Theo? No clear rigging here. Just good friends and boyfriends.
I’m surprised at how few votes there are, but I’m an American our class sizes are bigger and my first take was also that it would be a xth grade rep, not classroom rep.

I count 22
@ Grayson Judd:
At most, there should be 24 students in Sandra’s class, so a turnout of 23 is really quite decent.
@ Gallavett:
But Sandra voted for herself, so someone weaseled out.
@ Ctoan:
It’s okay, even their classmates didn’t realize they were different people at first.
Ah good ol’ first past the post system… “good” is sarcasm…
@ MidoriLuna:
#gallavett’srightImbadatmath
Yeah she got seven votes, not six.

You mean that time Trump claimed Voter Fraud in the Millions?

Then they would have had a Tiebreaker vote with just the 3 that were tied. That should free some votes up from the remaining one.
And now Zoey become the opposition who will always question and argue whatever Sandra’s decision for the class is.
Wait a minute, who’s sebastian?
Considering how in one of the ‘Class Election’ pages outright had Zoey pretend that Michelle wasn’t trying to make Sandra look Stupid like all of Hillary’s Supporters, along with all other Left Wingers when it comes to Trump, I would say this is Karma.
Seriously, as Sandra stated in that page, ‘You call that Fair and Balanced!?’
The russian hacked the ballots!
i wonder what would have happened in a tie…
Would Larissa have suggested a Thunder-dome option? Yea i can see that.
@ Christopher:
“Claimed” voter fraud in the millions, as in a supposedly baseless accusation? You must not be up on current events. Homelamd Security’s investigation has uncovered voter fraud of the 2016 election in the millions. Just Google, “Millions of Dead And Illegal Voters Discovered”.

Elementary and High Schools will elect what is effectively a representative government among the students to teach how government operates and to give the students the feeling that they have some control over the operation of the school.
Generally, they don’t, but the *will* decide on things such as “how are we going to raise money” and “what will we spend it on” and “we want tater tots in the school cafeteria instead of french fries.”
Our attempt to swap parking lots with the teachers to improve student on-time performance in first period and after lunch was sadly defeated.
What if it was rigged? And the last vote came from Woo?
Not seeing an explicit denial from the teacher.
@ Xpacetrue:
Ahahaha no. That’s the faux news/Russian propaganda. If I remember correctly, the actual number of fraudulent votes disovered was 17 (seventeen). Total. Not 17 million, 17. On the other hand, there was a tremendous amount of voter disenfranchisement and gerrymandering.
Grayson Judd wrote:
you forgot the one the teacher has in her hand
But….but…..ZOEY!
Every electoral loser’s accusation from where I’m from after the vote, if you don’t protest that you’ve been cheated something’s wrong with you.
I still want to know what Taylor did in the physics room.
Also, rigging elections is *hard*. It’s much easier to influence voters.
@ Raen:
It has never been proved.
There were only 23 voters?
If I were you, I’d demand a recount, Zoey.
@ Xanni:
Seventeen total fraudulent votes in a tight race with over 120 million of votes cast? Absolutely ridiculous. Do those 17 fraud votes include the 5 votes that one (as in singular) illegal immigrant voted in different cities and was convicted with an 8 year sentence (as reported on FOX news)? Even if there was no conspiracy to commit vote fraud, you know that there would be more than this. Who is your source? Buzzfeed? Fake news, indeed! Remember, this was the election where feelings of hate for the opposing candidate – on both sides – was so strong that incidents of people stealing and demolishing candidate signs was rampant. Of course sign theft happens every election year, but it was never as bad as in 2016.
I’m willing to believe in a talking raccoon in a daemon haunted world but a class size of 23? Come on now.
I think I understand Larissa’s election strategy now, and predicted this outcome last week; Everyone went on an advertising frenzy, except for Sandra, so a majority of people voted for the least obtrusive candidate, who has a good reputation before the election comes into play.
I am not a fan of these recent arcs. Political arcs in comics where the writers seem to be stating “Look at the things that I believe, and how correct and true they are, everyone else is silly or brainwashed.” Nothing is ever black and white. And some horrible things that are orange shouldn’t be president, it doesn’t matter if Russian hackers were or were not involved.

Not every school works like the ones in the US, you know…
My country has smaller class sizes too, which allows for a better learning experience, and it’s way better than a huge class with the professor not being able to give the individual attention each student deserves.
Considering Larisa was playing campaign manager …
… that is not impossible.
Well it’s not like no one EVER won an election without a little Russian meddling
