[0972] Richard Is In Doubt

There are four new polls that appear in the voting widget in the left sidebar:
- How old are you?
- How old is your smartphone? (There’s a separate question for your tablet.)
- How old is your tablet? (There’s a separate question for your smartphone.)
- Which of the following story arcs did you like the most?
- Richard: Ooooooh, is that freshly squeezed orange juice?
- Sandra: Mm-hmm, a whole jug of it.
- Richard: Do I even deserve such a sweet daughter?
- Sandra: Signs point to yes.
Sweet! Are we seeing a new arc…? And a thought that suddenly came up… Will we ever see anything more of Melody?
I am surprised Richards first instinct is not “Ok how much money you try to get from me?”. According to normal human experience, people that act out of nowhere overnice are normally want something from you.
…
She’s after something.
I sense some deception here. Who would Ever make a whole jug of juice for someone without an ulterior motive??…lots of people probably

No. This is a single strip that does not belong to an arc.
Yes you do Richard, but remember, she also had equal parts of sour, and spice.
if i walked into my home after a long day of work to find that my child worked hard to make something like this for me, i would be VERY skeptical. i’d look at them, cock an eyebrow, and ask “what did you do/want?”
@ Thisguy:
Hopefully NOT in the juice! 🙂
@ Novil:
Oh.. When I read this I thought Sandra needed something expensive..
Wait, is something wrong with making cookies for a hobby?!
But uh, what about the episode where Vega spoke Human on front of the Richard? Did he really write it off as overly-stronk alcohol?
@ Permitzvah:
Bleep off, Antris. You’re dumb screen names do’nt fool me. This thread was nice before you shower up and, now it is bad is!!11!1!!11
Say it with me, everyone! Awwww!
Is she always like this or does she want something in return for that?
Are we going to see him ask about the Raccoon kits’ mastery of English?

Single strip, you say? OK, I don’t get it…
@ 627235:
I agree, it’s a bit out of context.

thats what i thought
No word about talking racoons, huh?
That’s funy, the third panel seems unnecessary to me. I like it with just the first, second and last panels – the third one does show Richard’s suspicion, but it doesn’t go anywhere, it just melts away. Sandra’s stance is so neutral she might as well not have been shown.
Not intended as criticism, just real curiosity – wouldn’t it work better without that third panel?

or “what has she done that she needs me in a good mood to hear about.”
However that presumes it was a normal day. If it was Father’s day, his Birthday for example, he he’s coming home for a “Crunch time” session, then it might fair to think she just being thoughtful first 8)

Looking at his face in the first panel, he’s tired out mentally and physically. Probably doesn’t want to think the orange juice through.
The wheel of karma, grinding slow and fine.

hence the possibility of “Crunch time”
@ roguebfl:
Ahh. Sorry, in your og post you said ‘come home for “Crunch time” ‘ guess you meant to say ‘from “Crunch time”.’ Glad someone else in on the same page as me, though if this is a single strip, it feels a bit off. Maybe it’s juice me.
“Wait, what do you want me to do?”
“Nothing at the moment, but I figured it’d be easier to make it now instead of later. ;)”
This is too much, m-my heart… HNNNNNNG

Like the Powerpuff Girls?
Permitzvah wrote:
I was wondering when someone would remember that…
@ MidoriLuna:
Yes, I know the concept of the beat panel (though I didn’t know its proper appellation, thank you). I am very fond of it. In this particular strip, though, it seems… off.
Ah well. It’s clearly just me.
Don’t know if its just me, (And this has nothing to do with the strip), but every time I scroll down, my screen blinks. Don’t know if its the site or my computer, but its really annoying. Oh and great strip BTW. : )
Like the strip. Kind of reminds me of when I broke the TV.
Me: Here mom, for you.
Mom: A new mouse?
Me: Yeah.
Mom: What do you want?
Me: Well, the TV…
*Yelling and being sent to my room*
Me: Guess I wasted that money.
I meant computer mouse BTW. oo

Sorry for the triple post, but I have to mention, this is the first time I put a smiley face (Or tried to) on a comment. It came naturally. I guess I’m infected now with the smiley face syndrome
Question: On the tags it says food, but I don’t see where food is involved. Wouldn’t orange juice be considered a beverage? Sorry, I get bothered by small things like that.
@ Zerick:
Beverages are liquid foods, especially from a legal viewpoint. Not all liquid foods are beverages though.
Wait, is the orange juice in the jug transparent in panel 2?
