[0978] ๐๐๐ Are Serious Business
└ posted on Monday, 9 April 2018, by Novil
Based on one of my favorite Peanuts strips where Sally whaps Snoopy.
- Caption: Chat with FireGirlLarisa
- Sandra: โฝ practice was really ๐๐ today! Anyway, in an hour Iโll watch Coco with Cloud ๐ Will probably not see much of the film since weโll ๐๐ the whole time ๐๐๐
- Woo: Hee hee hee.
- Sandra: Stop giggling, furbrain!! Iโm a girl! Sometimes I just need to write texts with lots and lots of smileys!
- Woo: This is my โWhoโs giggling? Iโm not giggling!โ face!
- Woo: Has never worked so far.
Whistling? That is a weird cartoonish way of doing it… I would just run away instead…
@ Trimutius:
Whistling? Who’s whistling? I’m not whistling!
๐๐๐
Emoji use: evidence that women tend more emotional, while men tend more abstract/mechanical?
@ Korakys:
As a guy, I just use gears and robot emojis, obviously.
I am glad that the searchable text included all the smileys too. That is very important.
I love that the transcript has the emojis.
So nice that the symbolic halo can be brought into the physical world.
I ๐คฃ at this ๐ฌ! The ๐ also has ๐๐๐๐คฃ๐, which makes it even ๐.

I have feeling that Seeoatlahmakaskay was watching this scene and stole a halo from a random angel and gave it to Woo for the lolz.
I;m not sure that girls are the only ones. My brother does the same thing, but unlike this he usually pushes me off the couch.
Also, I wonder when the next major story arc will be.
Eh? I use smileys too, just not a lot, so… XD
โ that’s ๐ง subjective ๐คญ. it’s all “HAHAHA” ๐ and “lol” ๐ โจ
๐ except ๐ during ๐ certain ๐๐ moments ๐ป๐ค๐ฅ
Too bad, Coco is perhaps Pixar’s best movie yet.
The new story arc could start right here… Although I don’t know what would happen in the movie that is making a funny comic and not just a boring romance novel. (And I actually hope for Sandra and Cloud that they don’t have to deal with us watching them, but can enjoy their “romance novel” by themselves… ๐ โ But you never know what evilfunny things Novil is plotting behind their backs… ;))
Might want to watch out you’re throwing those “Girls be textin'” comments.
At least Sandra can admit that she has such an re-occurring OS error. Someone really should debug the humans.
I usually come here for comics that aren’t just funny, but restore my faith in humanity after a long day of reading YouTube-comments-section-level crap.
Today, I was not disappointed.
How can does Sandra remain so supercute in third picture…
Is it just me or have Sandra’s breasts gotten smaller over the last few months? Does she have cancer?
@ Conspicuous Joke:
I… I honestly can’t decide which part of your comment is more effed up… Those are two things that it’d be very rude to ask in polite conversation (at least down there in TrumpMerica), iirc.
@ Conspicuous Joke:
Dude, that’s just inappropriate.
My wife has instructed me to bury her alive if she ever starts texting like this even once in her life unironically.

Love how funny this is, and how Sandra seems to be able to bend physics to her will.
@Conspicuous Joke She wears loose fitting clothes. They don need to look like they were painted or drawn on, you know?
I’m sure Cloud will know if something is wrong. ๐

Surprised that Larisa still hasn’t been banished from all instant text apps. Judging by her innuendo prone nickname, she didn’t learn much from past experiences…
Yep, Sandra’s definitely a teenager now. She writes something funny, Woo giggles at it, and she assumes he’s laughing at her and attacks him for it.
I use smilies as well to help convey meaning and intent. Sandra takes it to a slightly comedic level while still making the use of smilies contextually appropriate. This strip was really ๐ !
Can you give a link to the Peanuts strip mentioned?
@ Thomas R Mazanec:
Oops…wrong website link.
@ Korakys:
Well, sometimes you just need something that would be too long to describe in words and it’ll just ruin the effect. For example, shrugging shoulders…
@ Korakys:
Dunno… I do regularly use emoticons (yes I’m Old) in .txt.
Then again, I’m dutch. And written, my language is as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face. Hard to do inflection on paper..
It carries over into other languages, including english, which is more emotive, but still….

Huh, has the fact that Sandra plays soccer come up in any previous comics? I can’t remember.

@ Tyler Robert Johnson:
Coco was pretty awesome but I still think that Up is the best Pixar film.
@ Darwinskeeper:
Up is also should have had a great Giant warning,FEELS WILL BE HARMED.
Given how easy it is to miss the emotional context of a tweet, especially sarcastic, satirical, or tongue-in-cheek humorous ones, I end up using emotes on half of my tweets, whether they really need it or not.
I tend to type normally, especially if I’m serious. If I’m trying to use humor or convey that things aren’t that dire, I add an emote at the end (rather than using them to replace words altogether).
