Tips for Japan trip?

I’m planning a long trip to Japan next year in March or April together with my parents. Do you have any tips about things that we should not miss to see? I’m particularly interested in tips for the following regions:
- Ryukyu Islands / Okinawa
- Kyushu
- Shikoku
- Kyoto area
- Tokyo area

What you want to say is “Placename wa doko desu ka?”
…is the equivalent of “Placename = where?”
My brother is actually going in November, and one weird thing I found out is that if you want to go to the Studio Ghibli museum you have to buy your tickets EXACTLY a month in advanced. the tickets go up thirty days before the day the ticket is valid for entry, and they sell out very quickly. I’m not sure where to get them from, but if you plan to visit the Ghibli museum in Tokyo you have to get your tickets before your trip, so keep that in mind!
