- Luna: Achtung! My jump serve is a dangerous weapon!
- Sandra: Hear that, Zoey!?
- Luna: HAYAA
- Sandra: Hello, police, I’d like to report a murder-suicide.
- Luna: Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Luna should have specified whom her weapon was dangerous to.
With great power comes great responsibility.
I wonder who Zoey’s team-mate might be? Neither Taylor nor Michelle seems to be particularly loyal to her…
Luna rolled a 1 on her serve.
This pleases Brijeka.
Is Luna supposed to be saying ‘achtung’ in the English version though?
@ GardeBlaze:
Or, perhaps Zoey rolled a twenty.@ GardeBlaze<
dangerous but in all wrong ways…
Aw. Sooner or later I want to see Taylor’s expression when, one of these times, she has to flip a point-card for Zoey. 🙂
That went… not goodly
Don’t try this at home!
All manga characters in this comic are trained professionals.
@ Marshal.EXE:
It went brilliantly instead 😉
Yeah, uh. Unless I missed something and Luna is actually part-German, I feel like her saying “Achtung!” was a bit of a goof.
I mean she is from Camden. She’s gotta know some killer moves.
Many non-germanoponic anglophones know what achtung means (Wolfenstein, U2), and because of the harshness of the sound of he German language to English speakers, it actually added to the severity of the declaration.
I don’t know why Luna would say Atchung, but I think it makes the comic even funnier!
Now we know why this was on Larissa’s list. Let the bloodshed and hilarity ensue.
Nice artwork

Can’t you tell, it’s Luna.
I think this is my favorite one in the series O_O. ROFL

Maybe it is….. CLOUD!
BUM BUM BUMMM! Dramatic reverb!
With friends like these, who needs enemies?
Very dangerous indeed! Flee on sight!
Kinda reminds me of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oY2nVQNlUB8
Does this count as a point for Zoey?
Also, good to see Luna could get away from her boyfriends.
@ Asrial:
You’d hope so
No worries, Luna. There’s always someone worse, especially the guy who pulled off “suicide”, without the “murder”.
In the certain manga, a student president tried to do the volleyball serve, and he did a super epic fail, by striking the back of his own head, in which his face has struck the ball next. Right down in his own court.
The last time I heard somebody actually say “Atchung!” was on a Hogan’s Heroes rerun. And I was in Germany just a month ago. Do they still say that there?

Yes, we still use “Achtung!” in Germany, but there are and always have been synonyms to use in everyday life, like “Vorsicht!” oder “Pass(t) auf!”, so it is not used that frequently. I’ve never been in the military, so I don’t know if they still use it as a military command to stand at attention (which probably is the source of using “Achtung” as a German cliche word in English), but I guess they do, command words don’t tend to get revised or modernized very often.
This raccoon got stuck in the noose of a car tarp. This dude helps him out.

@ Razel:
How on Earth did he manage that? Like, you have to literally aim for the back of your head to hit the back of your head.
Zoey Wins
HARA-KIRI
Okay, this? This is my new most painful strip for this series.
I really wish that Woo’s secret becomes public

But definitely not trained professional volleyballers.
It’s like Prince of Tennis, but better.
On the one hand, Americans do know “achtung”, and it could conceivably be used in a humorous context. On the other hand, this is not quite how I’d expect a random foreign word to be used. On the third hand which has just sprouted from my head, with these characters, who knows what they might do.
@ Xezlec:
lol where I’m from if you said ‘achtung’ without otherwise speaking German for some reason, most people would look at you like you were a weirdo or an edgy middle schooler
This very reason is why I always serve *underhand* and not overhand in volleyball…
I always served underhand because I could give the ball over-spin and drop it just just the other side of the net. Of course, this only worked with recreational players. Serious competitors would have made me eat it.

They are trained in survival. Most manga characters – even ordinary humans – are able to survive almost any injury, second in this ability only to western cartoon characters who generally only need several minutes to recover after being blown apart by dynamite explosion.

So, which one is “HARA” and which is “KIRI”? 😉 🙂

IF i remember volleyball rules correctly, this only means that Luna and Sandra’s side loses the right to serve. Now Zoey’s side will serve. I -think- your side has to have done the serve for you to get the point.
hehehehe

To give a bit of context, he’s generally a genius in academics, but super bad at creative arts and sports. For example, his sense of singing is so bad that it gave the listeners the horrible feeling of having cucumbers rub their ears (yes, it was described by one of unfortunate listeners). Fortunately, his epic fail at the jumping volleyball serve was done in his practice, otherwise his team would have self-destructed in a match.
