- Sandra: Time-out!
- Zoey: Time-out? For what? Drinking?
- Luna: Smooching!
- Zoey: You can’t take a time-out for smooching! That’s against the rules! That’s ridiculous! That’s…
- Zoey: … really mean because I don’t have anyone to smooch with.

Even if Sandra loses this match, she already won.

I can see how that might make for some difficult composition. But I see you’re rotating them, so that’s a nice touch.

“Not into girls” is fine. Making disparaging references to “big gay lesbos”? Not so much.

Yeah, and the fact that her unrequited crush is right there just seems extra cruel.

I don’t think that would help. Unless maybe Luna’s willing to go for bi as well as poly…

Meh, I see it more as just differences in personal taste. I’ve been enjoying the current story, but I can understand how some people might not. Until people get to the tantrum-throwing, “Change this or I’ll never it again!” stage, I have no problem with their differing opinions.
Hard to blame the smooch break for interrupting the volleyball game when the volleyball game was interrupting Luna’s smooching.
Maybe Zoey would find a nice girl to smooch with if she wore a more adult swimsuit? No, that’s a bad idea because it would probably attract an older woman and run into age conflicts with the law.
Zoë has been becoming more sympathetic as we see more of her…
This is a war crime on Sandra and Lunas behalf…
Is Sandra using psychological warfare against Zoey? Either way, it seems to succeed.

Sandra does not know about Zoey’s preferences… She might know that she has no boyfriend but that’s all. Her preference is Larissa’s and Zoey’s secret… Though Michelle might guess.
I am really looking forward to see what this arc has in store for us…
She’s a teenage lesbian in a fairly conservative school environment where she’s trying to maintain ‘aloof, popular girl’. She’s only outed herself to one person in the entire city (Well, two if Michelle ever figures it out) neither of which seem to have much interest in her that way (Again, until Michelle figures it out) so she may well be forever alone until she’s able to get away from that environment. (MICHELLE FIGURE IT OUT)
I kinda feel really bad for Zoey now…
Someone or something needs to go up and smooch her too!
@ AnotherBear:
Do you just want to see Zoey in a bikini too?
Damn. Luna really got game.
I wonder how does Thomas feel though, considering they made TvTropes Page Image for Soccer-Hating Americans.
Make it a 5some!
Now that’s a mood whiplash, for sure.
Zoey isn’t a very nice person, but one can’t help feeling sad for her. She’s “different” and doesn’t dare tell anyone, and especially not her best friend.
Muchas smoochas!
@ Melkior:
”””Zoey isn’t a very nice person”””
Suuuuurrrrreeeee
That’s either them being super mean to Zoey, Sandra showing off to Michelle that yes, Cloud is still with a crazy ‘coon lady like her, ooorr just kinda sweet.
Or a mixture of some or all of them.
It’s not easy being gay with classmates consisting of straight people.
@ Brijeka Vervix:
Zoey usually doesn’t not act mean in public.

I was talking about Zoey lacking a romantic partner, not her preference.

A little judgmental there? I’m a few times Zoey’s age and I’ve NEVER worn a bikini. I’m not a prude or anything, but a LOT of lesbians don’t wear bikinis for the same reason I don’t and likely why Zoey doesn’t…
Lesbians think that getting ogled by guys is GROSS and if you wear a bikini guys WILL ogle you. :^Þ

Depends on how you define ‘mean’. Really the worst things Zoey has ever done is call Sandra a weirdo for playacting in public and poke fun at Luna wearing the same outfit every day. (and at the time, not even we the audience knew she was extremely poor) Heck, if I saw a girl in school wearing the same outfit every day I would make fun of her. (if only because it would be gross unless she washes them every night which after a while would actually be more expensive than getting a new set of clothes)
Really, if that’s what you consider mean then you have lived a VERY blessed life. I got WAY worse in Middle School and I wasn’t even ‘out’ then. (though I DID know that I liked girls and boys were just mean and gross)
Girls can be extremely cruel to one another. By comparison, Zoey is tame. SERIOUSLY tame!

This so much! But I think it applies to more than just lesbians. I wouldn’t go near a pool without at least boardshorts and a rashvest because I don’t want randos looking me up. I wonder how the characters would feel about reading these comments here regarding to their attire. With the exception of maybe Larisa, I’m sure they might just be a little bit concerned…

The only thing is, even if Michelle figures it out… doesn’t necessarily mean she will have interest in Zoey. Heck, she might have already figured it out.
I hope Michelle doesn’t find anyone to smooch ’cause they would be just heartbreaking.
@ Frank:
Water.
Zoey’s not exactly Nelly Olsen she needs a break once and awhile.

I know feeling Zoey. You’re not alone.
jinjin wrote:
I don’t have a problem with her not being into girls. I have a problem with using the term “gay lesbos” as an insult. Zoey has every right to take that as an insult from the way it’s phrased. Admittedly she should have determined if Michelle was willing before kissing her, but she didn’t deserve to be told there is something wrong with her sexuality.
norman miller wrote:
The best part of your quote was that Nellie Oleson didn’t really exist– there was no way that one girl could be that mean so Wilder created her out of a composite of 4 different girls.
At least in the TV show (which was only loosely based on the books) Nellie finally finds love.
