Here is the obligatory link to our ongoing Kickstarter campaign for the Sandra and Woo: 10 Years anthology and the art book The Art of Sandra and Woo!
- Larisa: To show that this book is full of good advice, I will select and read a random passage from it.
- Book cover: The Holy Bible
- Larisa: And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply.”
- Landon: That was not a randomly selected Bible passage!
- Larisa: God wills it!

TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT!
Deus vult! Deus vult!
You’d think Landon would be used to it by now.
DAMNIT WOMAN! You’re suppose to be… what… 12-14… I dunno but still too young too be pulling crap like that. DOn\t get me wrong it’s funny as hell. But still DAMN!

But if it’s in the bible…
I was expecting a quote from Song of Songs, e.g. “Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine, your anointing oils are fragrant, your name is perfume poured out; therefore the maidens love you. Draw me after you, let us make haste. The king has brought me into his chambers.” (Song of Songs, Chapter 1, Verse 2-4, NRSV) With the annotations saying that love may refer to lovemaking in this case.
Welp, I’ve found my new favorite pickup line!
This isn’t their first time, is it? I wonder how many times they’ve already made love.
I’ve suspected for a while that Larisa wants to have a child while she’s still capable of raising it.
Whether she could get Landon and any of their parents to approve, and if Novil is actually planning to go there…
Factual consistency error: Neither Bible nor Larissa burst into flames.
Wondering wrote:
I think that it would be. Landon blue screened the first time she tried something. He didn’t seem to accept her line about not being a teenage parent.

Larissa is only a demon in training, she’ll only get full succubus status after her time is up. Until then, that book will only catch flame when she has a lighter on hand.
Bow chicka bow wow.
Does Larissa know about the whole god replacement thing?

The only commandment people have consistently followed.
I wonder if she only does that to get a rise out of Landon?
Also, if (for whatever reason) they bring up the “virgins die last” rule regarding slasher films… how will those two react?
You might as well decide whether or not you want it, Landon. She’s pushing for this early for a reason: her life is probably literally half over already, and by the time normal people are ready, she’ll be blind and worse.
Oh Larisa you sneaky bitch
@ MidoriLuna:
technically she would become a succubus after dying, right?
@ Senjiu:
DEUS VULT! DEUS VULT!
So … how many times have Larissa had sex with Landon ? Is this the third time ? Fourth time ?
Ooh, skating right up to the edge here aren’t we!
Well, if she’s fourteen that’s about the right age for girls in the Bible. Bronze Age Judea wasn’t a place where anyone but a designated Patriarch lived very long.
Makes me wonder if it’ll ever go in thaat direction with this comic. Like, someone actually gets knocked up and has to deal with those consequences one way or another- would be a hell of a drama lol, maybe too much to handle. I wonder what someone like Larisa would do in that situation- if not ‘now’, maybe a few years down the line. I wonder if she’d ever dare to have a child despite knowing she wouldn’t be able to be there for her child very long at all (or if she’s even able to with her condition).
well if the hardcore catholics can take out of context passages of the bible to tell us the way we’re living is wrong, I don’t see why we couldn’t do the same to justify sinning, just sayin’

She tried to seduce him a couple of times before.
The result has never been shown.
Even if they had sex before he might not be ready for being a parent which is entirely something else.
“Let’s be fruitful” doesn’t just mean “Hey, let’s hit the sheets together.”

Wolfram Syndrome, I believe.

Best use of a Bible quote since Pulp Fiction.
“And thee shall jump out of the window and run as fast as possible” Landon, 3:16

Why would Larissa be eager to have a kid anyway, knowing how the kid is likely to suffer?
The Deus Vult meme strikes again. I first saw that on the anime the Saga of Tanya the Evil, now it seems to be everywhere.
@ Mogster:
The disease is caused by a recessive gene, so Larisa’s (hypothetical) children would be carriers, but would only develop the disease if Landon is also a carrier and they got the same mutated gene from him. Given the rarity of the condition, this is fairly unlikely.
I’m probably oversimplifying a little, but that’s the basics. Genetic disorders this serious are almost always recessive, since otherwise they’d likely eliminate themselves after a single generation.

I like the attention to detail. The bible is opened pretty much at the beginning of the text, which is the correct location for this quote.

I noticed that Larisa wore the same (type) of shirt, even though Landon didn’t. Is it her love-seduction wear?
a good day (and forever remarkable) for Landor :)))) XD

Teens have sex, they always did and probably always will. And it’s okay as long as they don’t get out of it with regrets, pregnancies or emotional scars, but it looks like their parents and role models gave them proper information about consent, protection and the like. Besides, they were 13 in 2014 right? Depending on how time passes in the comic, they could also be older now.
Somehow it’s never the most interesting verses, such as:
And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias…

Wolfram Syndrome isn’t inheritance, IIRC.

I came here to post this.

I don’t think they’ve made love before, and, personally, I think this will stay a (heavy) make out session.
Larissa may be a succubus in training, but she also likes to play with her “prey” and pull Landon’s leg.
Honestly, I’m in the camp thinking with Larisa’s limited lifespan and overall health complications, her wanting to have a kid while she can still interact with them is completely understandable. I’ve know quite a few people with severe conditions that either tilt that way or go completely the other and NEVER have kids. If she’s made the decision, Landon should at least understand where she’s coming from, or they need to have a serious talk about where she’s coming from so he does understand and can make an informed choice. Considering how smart she is, she probably already know the odds favor the child being okay so she doesn’t feel like she’s “dooming” anyone but leaving a piece of herself in the world in a positive way.

Don’t you think it’s rather arrogant and self-righteous of humans to believe that they know better than nature does? If nature tells me I’m ready, why should I disagree?
If some age-old prudes (who probably never had any real sex in their life) believe sex to be bad/evil/only-for-someone-beyond-an-approved-age/only-for-married-people/…, that is hardly something any sane person has to take seriously. If two 13-year-olds are sure that they’re ready (yes, in this case Landon seems to disagree), why shouldn’t they do it? Right, the obvious answer would be because the prudish adults of their society (guess which society I’m talking about) failed to have their children educated on such things as safer sex, even going so far as to forbid their schools from doing so, instead having them teach creationism to their impressionable children.
Sometimes I think that on the seventh day God felt mischievous and gave man an unhealthy dose of stupidity so they may always entertain Him in the most moronic of ways.
Phil wrote:
There’s a fair amount of research indicating that kids who get involved in sex this young (13) pay a penalty in emotional stability, but perhaps that’s because of how our society treats sex. (Still a consideration, because that’s the society Landon, at least, lives in.) Larissa’s expected life span might make that moot for her, but it still might not be what Landon is ready for.
Regardless of whether 13 year olds should be able to consent to sex, having babies is a whole ‘nother issue. Body development, emotional development, economic security… lots of resons to discourage this. Again, Larissa’s situation might present mitigating circumstances, but that leaves Landon with a lot of responsibility after she’s gone.
In other words, just because humans CAN be interested in sex and CAN reproduce at age 13 doesn’t mean it’s necessarily a good idea. Might be ok, depending on the kids. Landon really doesn’t seem ready yet, and I don’t think it would be right for Larissa to push him into it, even with her health issues.

It really, really isn’t. It means exactly what Larisa interprets it to mean, and many zealots still adhere to it today, having a minimum of 7 children per family. While you can consider the instruction to be situational, the situation involved was so generic, that it would still apply today in most parts of the world. At best, you can point out that said instruction was given to a nation, and not to each individual person, but it kind of requires the adherence of individuals to work.
@ Trimutius:thank you

Plus, it was written as part of the old testament, which for the most part was either written way before the gospels, or in the early middle ages. So, anything taken from that area of the Bible is indeed subject to the interpretation of the reader.
