LAVA MOAT!!!
Still not a cataclysmic disaster. So I have to assume since the Lava Moat wasn’t finished due to unexpected reasons, something happens, and lava will start spewing everywhere from the Lava Moat device. Not killing anyone of course, but be an obstacle they will have to get past/survive.
This strip is somehow even more suspenseful than the last one.

Okay so jokes aside, I’m not really one for “apolitical” humor because even with this lighthearted comic it feels like the one who is “apolitical” thinks they’re above it all. I will continue reading it I just wanted to voice my concerns over all this myself. It’s why I hate r/politicalcompass, because that reddit is full of American centrists* who think themselves as better than the four political sides.
Granted, I’m sure that Germans of all people would know what happens if you allow authorities to go unchallenged, considering there are still wounds of certain events that happened fairly recently, so I seriously doubt that is the message they are trying to convey, even if it feels kind of like it from my point of view.
*American centrists in this case means far right leaning authoritarians that believe themselves to be in the true center of the overton window due to how far right leaning the American politics have gotten. And they often believe themselves to be libertarians but in reality are closer to authoritarians due to how much control they wish to have over others.

it means “what?”
with Richard’s very astonished look on his face, you could very well read his reaction at seeing Hitomi at his doorstep as “What?!?!?”
